Bon Appetit Ratings and Reviews
Great outdoor dining experience. If there were any flaws in the meal (none that I noticed), the weather, water views, and service obscured them. I really like this place for a nice afternoon lunch, maybe a couple glasses of wine, etc.
It gets a little crowded as far as parking so it’s really helpful that they have a privately shared lot with the hotel next door.
My wife's petit filet mignon had gravy on it and was a bit over cooked. My hamburger and french fries were good, but their wasn't a lettuce wedge, as was previously on the menu for this entree. I was looking forward to the wedge and ordered blue cheese dressing for it. I thought I would receive it on the lettuce wedge. The cook placed too much blue cheese on my hamburger. The waiter didn't explain the entree and because I had too much blue cheese on my hamburger, I had acid re-flux all that night while I was sleeping. This was very discomforting!
One of our favorite places to just get a bite or enjoy a great meal for a special occasion. Service is outstanding. Mixologists are fantastic and friendly and keep things going at the unique bar. This it the place for a romantic dinner and a beautiful sunset. We were blessed with a beautiful rainbow as well this weekend. Dunedin's Best.....
Another special evening viewing the sunset from the window table......
Food was excellent.....
Your website states that happy hour is until 7 pm.....That is incorrect. I ordered a second glass of wine and it was before 7, but charged regular price, not happy hour price.
The food was average at best. My wife ordered filet mignon meadium rare and it came rare. They took it back for more cooking and it came back in pieces much better. The better restaurants would have replaced the steak with a new one. I had the duck and it was very dry. It was set on top of tiny sweet potatoes and was tasteless. We both had onion soup which was the worst we have ever had.
We love trying a new place every week. Heard many good things and the reviews I researched were good as well....so we gave it a try. So happy we did!
The seating view, the staff, wine and food were all great. This is definately a place we will come back to over and over.
We were celebrating my Mother-In Laws birthday. It was a beautiful day outside. We had the seafood platter appetizer, chowder soup, and shrimp cocktail as appetizers. We also had the lamb shank, beef tenderloin and hash, avocado lobster, and the chef's salad. All of the food was extremely fresh and tasted wonderful. Carrie was an excellent server and very attentive.
Went for Oktoberfest. Menu seems to have less German selections than in the past. I had the Oktoberfest Platter, nicely prepared, as good as this kind of food gets. My wife had the duck and enjoyed it too. Servings are toward generous size. The desert was an apple pastrie, unfortunately the dough was very undercooked, almost raw. Service here is outstanding
Went for a Friday night dinner and the Octoberfest menu. My wife had the liverwurst appetizer and the duck entree. Enjoyed the appetizer which came with pickles and bread, but thought the duck was a bit well done. I had the lentil soup with sausage and the roast pork entree. Both were excellent and quite filling.
Initially it was quite noisy, but became less so with the arrival of more small parties. The Bayside Breeze drink was refreshing. Alessandro was an excellent attentive server with just the right amount of presence.
Bon Appetit is always a delight! Add October Fest and it is even better! It was our neighbor and friend's birthday and we wanted to treat her. Since she is from Germany this is a great gift to her. She stated that all of the dishes she had were as good as her deceased momma could have made! That is pretty high praise, IMO! My husband and I enjoyed our meals , as well. My husband spent approximately 5 years in Germany (in the 1970's) while in the military and grew to enjoy many German dishes. Thank you for making it a special birthday for our friend.
We have been to Bon Appetit a few times and our experience has been very consistent. The Ahi tuna as an appetizer was fresh. Entrees of the Lobster Avocado Stack was nicely presented with a nice taste. The short rib dinner was a tad on the salty side but still was enjoyable. Service was excellent. Overall a nice evening with a beautiful view of the water and sunset.
Really wanted to enjoy this dinner. It was my 5 years wedding anniversary and every year we stay at the best western + yacht club. We had never eaten at Bon appetite and we thought this would have been a nice place to celebrate. Our waiter was overbearing in the beginning because my husband and I were taking time to figure out our entree order. Even though, we both ordered soups and a bottle of wine he wanted us to put the entree order in. Then he forgot about us. A food runner (or waiter) gave bread to everyone around my husband and I but not us. The bisque was great, however my Ravioli had so much water on the plate it was really disappointing. It's very shocking that the chef allowed that plate to be served. Residual water from boiling the pasta should never be served into the plate. I could have bought frozen ravioli and made it at home & it would have been much tastier. We love Dunedin & we love the Best Western. We just wish we would have loved this experience. Hopefully it was just an off evening for them.
