Bombay Bistro - Fine Indian Dining Ratings and Reviews
We had a Groupon it said that it was not good for the buffet we went there at lunchtime on my wife's birthday and were unable to eat because they only serve a buffet. Nowhere did the Groupon say that it was only valid after a certain time of day or that there was not an ala carte menu available during the lunch hour. I was extremely disappointed. 😒
We started with Papri Chat. Outstanding flavors. My wife had the Chicken Tikki Masala and I had the Lamb Vindaloo. Both were fabulous. Just the right heat and fabulous spices. The garlic naan was awesome. We had a reasonably priced Malbec that complimented our meal. Friendly service and very attentive staff. We will definitely be back!
Really loved the food at Bombay Bistro we ended up ordering more than we can eat.
We ordered chicken tikka masala and chicken curry both and all the add ons you could get.
Among the best we have had in Minnesota.. Bombay Bistro was recommended by a family friend...and so glad we came!
The husband and wife service was excellent & friendly. We'll be coming back to try more of a the great food..
Hands down A++++food right on the $$$money and awesome quantity to match...
I can't give enough credit to the food. We had 2 lamb dishes and 1 chicken dish. The curry was exceptional and the flavors were spot on.
The service was pretty rough to start. I think the Ryder Cup numbers may have surprised them and the server was pretty green. After a 40 minute wait for a beer, the owner (?), stepped in and provided our service. He was delightful, interesting and helpful.
We'll try this place again.
The curry is not authentic. The chicken tasted like it came from a tin and curry powder was added to the gravy. This is not how curry is served. Service was abismal and one of my guests didn't get his food until the rest of us had finished. The Bombay Bistro is rubbish.
Really disappointed in the portion sizes. Very little protein given per serving. They definitely have a service issue. They need more servers. The service was ridiculously slow. People walked out because they didn't get water and a menu after sitting there 15-20 minutes. We won't be back.
Pleasant dining experience with above average East Indian menu. Particularly enjoyed the veggie/rice dish--nicely spiced. Staff is pleasant, courteous but need to be a bit quicker and prompt in response to requests. Some food items were simply not available. Other than that, it's definitely worth re-visiting.
I have visited the Bombay Bistro buffet on various occassions for lunch. This was my first time for dinner. It was a wonderful evening with friends. The atmosphere was great. The service from the owner was great but the service from the two young ladies could have been a little better. I will definitely come back and recommend to others.
vegetarian thali with samosas, mattar paneer, 'naan or rice', sides of dry vegetable, dahl and raita, chopce of masala chai or gulab jamun. My spouse had palak paneer: nearly 2 cups. My more expensive platter had mattar paneer, veggies (stewed zucchini with tomatoes is dry?), dahl & raita were all just half cup. After dinner, they just brought a single ball of gulab jamun. there were only 2 other tables occupied, so it wasn't like they were too rushed to ask. plain and garlic naan were soft and chewy & oily and I happen to prefer a lighter drier version. yummy, but the serving sizes were weird, as was the disconnect between stated options and actual delivery. The daytime buffet is wonderful, it's sad to pay more /get less at dinner.
Our family loves Indian food, but many places offer the same items. This restaurant stretches this a bit by simply offering more choices in all categories. Love the spicy onion and pepper relish that they serve with the appetizers. Our server was as pleasant as anyone could be. We will be back!
found this restaurant through Open Table. Great find. Service was perfect. My group of five went on the guidance and recommendations of the server. The servers choice of starters involving lamb, goat and vegs was spot on. we did the same for the main course. Lamb, fish and chicken with rice, vegs,. Great meal. Will be back!
Maybe it was just a fluke but our experience was not very good. Poor service from the start, food was just ok with the sauces being pretty greasy. It was hard to have a conversation over the loud buzzing coming from the speakers in the ceiling. Overall this was not "fine" dining by any stretch.
Service was poor. Took 15-20 min to order and the. The waitress forgot it all together and asked what it was we ordered 30 min later. Bloody Mary was the worst bloody ever. No veggies, salt n pepper or chaser. Tomatoe juiice was thin. Ordered food extra spicy. It came to us mild.
2nd time we have ordered entrees w/naan, plus special lemon rice (and if as according to the waiter they "never have curd rice", why is it on the menu) -- it took the rice 10 min to arrive after rest of the dinner was served. Waiter never warned us of time disparity. My husband insisted on waiting for the rice to eat so the lovely entrees were lukewarm. Great naan---right amount of char, excellent balance between flaky/chewy. But after table was cleared, it took the waiter 7 minutes to bring the check even w/credit card on the table.
