Bombay Behl is a restaurant that our family goes to often. It is one of the best around and family run. The food is excellent always, very tasty and varied. My personal favourite is the butter Chicken - mild but yummy! There are so many choices!
The decor is nothing special but we don't go for the decor. For drinks they have Indian beer and canadian beer and everything in between.
If you are in the mood for indian food Bombay Behl is my recommendation!!
Ordered the butter chicken and beef curry for lunch and it turned out the chicken was a little too sweeten but still taste good while the beef was awfully salty... checked with the waitress, she took the dish back to kitchen and ‘replaced’ with another dish of beef curry to me also told me that it shouldn’t be that salty however she didn’t know why. Anyways, the ‘replacement’ came out and the taste of sauce was improved while the beef was still very salty inside so I realized they just dilute the sauce with the same meat content. It is true that it will take a while to cook a pot of tendered beef stew but if the whole pot has been overly salted then it shouldn’t be served to customer at the first place...
This was my first Indian Restaurant and it was a big hit....loved it. Definately will be going back.
The butter chicken was the best thing ever!
Great food, great ambiance, will go back!
Decent food. Clean and friendly.
I have this restaurant on repeat whenever I'm in town. I try to tr a new dish and this time I had the Amritsari Goat Meat. And wow, it was full of so much flavour. Server game amazing recommendations. Will definitely be back.
Amazing food. It took a while to get our food but it tasted great so I can't really complain. Good service and good traditional music, not too loud.
The whole experience was superb. It was my daughter's birthday and the whole team really made it special for each of our family members (older to younger). The delicious meal, the ambiance and the friendly and professional staff who were really courteous and respectable. I have to say, my daughter's special day was made memorable this year by Bombay Bhel in Thornhill.
Great food, amazing service, very attentive. Will go back.
Easily one of the best Goat Curries I have ever had. Went down so good with a Mango Lassi and garlic naan.
Amazing food. Fast and Friendly service. Trendy decor. Butter chicken is to die for. Vindaloo had the perfect amount of spice in it. Beef samosa had sooo much flavour. Definitely will be back again
The food is always delicious and served fresh and hot. Staff are very friendly. Large menu with good options
A wonderful experience every time. It's a fan favorite in our family and we love the attentive staff and owner who go above and beyond to ensure their clients are fully satisfied and content after a fantastic meal! We are vegetarian and the options are endless and extremely tasty!
Excellent food, service and value.
Excellent choice of Indian menu and good service. Authentic Indian menu in close proximity to business locations in the area
I went to the restaurant because it was local, and the reviews were pretty good. I wasn't disappointed with the food. Butter chicken was a stand-out. And there was plenty of it.
Service could be improved, but I'd go back for the food regardless.
Amazing Butter chicken. Probably best in Toronto. Trendy Restaurant. Good service. Beef samosa's very tender and flavourfull. Garlic naan perfect compliment with butter chicken.
Great service and very attentive and kind waiters. The food was okay. Not the best and I've had better at Bombay Bhel.
Tasty food! Definitely going back again
The best time is on Monday, not that busy.
Wow. Amazing meal. Nice restaurant that is very trendy. Friendly staff that pays attention and gave me good suggestions.
Gorgeous Decor. Amazing food full of flavours, especially the Butter Chicken and Lamb Vindaloo. Quick and attentive service. Definitely will come back.
Trendy modern ambiance with amazing food. I think I'm addicted to the butter chicken poutine after my first time. Chicken Tikka Masala was very flavourfull without being spicy.
This was our first time dining at Bombay Bhel - Thornhill and it won't be our last. Food was delicious, plenty of variety, staff friendly and attentive. Went for Easter dinner and we all enjoyed ourselves.
What a wonderful restaurant. Our friends had told us about the famous Butter Chicken here and it was absolutely the best we've ever had. The staff is so friendly and attentive - our 12 year old had her birthday here and all of her friends loved it!
It was our anniversary and decided to try this restaurant, from the service to the food everything is excellent. We will definitely come back.
Excellent food portions. This is the only Indian Restaurant that I have ever been to that actually served us extra lean lamb portions. The food was excellent.
Service was great - very attentive. Good food - came out quick
The food was excellent and we love the atmosphere and the people who serve the food are so friendly.
The meals are well prepared and the spices are well balanced.
Good value for money and lots of parking !
Authentic Marsala Chai always the perfect ending to a delicious meal! Service consistently good...a surprisingly home cooked experience for a chain.
We come here often and the food is really good. I love their navratna korma, best I ever had. Most of the things we had were good (except beef samosas) and the presentation is nice.
The food was delicious but very, VERY slow. They forgot one of our appetizers and it ended up coming out after we were halfway done our entrees. Unfortunate because the food is consistently good and the restaurant was packed. I could see lots of people waiting at the door as well and it seemed that some of them eventually gave up waiting.
Great vegetarian thali at a reasonable price. Good service. Be sure to try the bailey masala chai for $4.50 plus tax.
This was my second visit to the restaurant and I was once again pleased. We placed our order before we got there, as we don't have a lot of time for lunch. Communicating with the staff via email was easy and they responded very quickly. When we arrived the food quickly came to our table and it was fresh, hot, and tasty. We ordered tandoori chicken and mixed vegetable subji, and each dish came with either rice or naan. We got one of each. That was more than enough food for two people and we had left overs to take away.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you've got a craving for Indian food.
The restaurant is not very busy. Service is fast. I especially like the butter chicken and the tikka malasa. The vegetable samosa could be a bit more crispy.
The restaurant closes at 9:30 p.m. on a Friday night which I think is too early.
Cheaper than most restaurants in the area like adrak and ambiyan. Food is reasonable. Though I've found the quality inconsistent. Tandoori tikka (chicken and paneer) is good.
Ordered the butter chicken, the sauce was more tomatoe based but was really good. The Naan is great as well. The service was abit slow and could be improved. The seating is comfortable and spacious. I would definitely recommend the Korma as well.
Food was delicious specially Hariyali chicken, it was moist and tender. Salt lassy was also good. Service was bit slow even though the place wasn't that busy.
After reading positive reviews, we were left disappointed.
For our appetizer, we ordered one veggie samosa and one order of spinach samosas (the spinach ones come as six small samosas). What was brought to the table was one plate with three full size samosas and another plate with a single samosa. We asked the server if the plate of three was the spinach samosa as we had been told it was six small samosas. The server said no it wasn't and went to take it back. We asked if the single samosa was indeed the veggie samosa and he assured us that it was. We bit into it and it was meat---as vegetarians, this was unacceptable to us. When we alerted the server, he just looked toward the kitchen and sighed as he removed the samosa. No apology to us for the mix-up. Yes, we realize mix-ups can happen, but an apology would have been appropriate. Our samosas were replaced, but no apology was offered.
In most restaurants after a mix up like this, I would expect the samosas to be offered for free. It was only 95 cents, so not worth us complaining, but still.
The main course (veggie vindaloo) was flavourful, but the veggies were simply the carrots and peas that come in those frozen veggie packs at the supermarket. There was one piece of potato and one piece of tomato included as well. Why they couldn't have cut up fresh carrots for a veggie dish is simply laziness.
The bill came and we were charged for the samosas (again, wasn't worth our while to ask for the charge to be removed) and still not apology.
We will not be back at Bombay Bhel Thornhill.
Love the butter chicken and biryani!
Too bad the service wasn't at the same level as the quality of the food. Appetizer took a long time to be brought out followed by a lengthy delay to get main course. Wait was worth it though as food was very tasty.
