I will never go back here.
The menu was great and so was the atmosphere. Unfortunately our server was not up to par. We ordered a bottle of wine and she served the wrong bottle. Later we ordered a second bottle. At that time she admitted that she had served us the wrong bottle the first time. No concessions or apologies were offered.
The food was great and the two bottles a wine were also good. The service was just not at the same level.
Food was good quality. The wait staff was very attentive.
Upon arrival we were seated immediately. The servers were friendly and helpful. The food was well prepared and delicious. I had the pork chop that was cooked to perfection. It was very tasty.
Food was very good and at an excellent value. Service was just god awful and they automatically added 20% gratuity to check because we were a party of 7. 18% is the norm and our waiter didnt even earn that. Overall, food is very good but unfortunately, Bolt closes for good in 2 weeks
The decor was lovely and I liked the spacious feel. It was rather warm all night but they did say they were adjusting it. The service was slow, but they were able to accommodate our party of 10. Most of the guests enjoyed their food with the exception of those of us who had the Rigatoni Bolognese, it was an average sauce with not alot of meat and the pasta was overcooked. Try the pork-chop instead.
My wife and I went to Bolt as part of a date night before the Goo Goo Dolls concert. Bolt is our favorite restaurant in Raleigh and this is the third time we've been there. The food is always amazing, the service is great and we always leave satisfied.
Appetizers were very good as were the entrées. It was a fun experience and the service was great.
We came on Raleigh restaurant week so it was really bustling. The wait staff was amazing though. One of those experiences where they would top off our water after just a couple sips. Never made us feel rushed, but they kept it moving. The food was outstanding and the price was great. We'll definitely be back.
The staff was overwhelmed during Restaurant Week. I had reservations for 6, was seated at 6:25, ordered at 6:35, and was finally served at 7:05. Other than the excessive waiting times, the food was very good and the service was okay.
We were there during the Restaurant Week. The prix fix menu options were good. The service was quick and friendly. The only down side is that for $30 prix fix menu, we were all still hungry after three courses.
Food was delicious. Loved the oysters. Enjoyable experience.
Great atmosphere, great service, great value and best of all Great Food!
The food was great and so was the service ...The mango cheese cake was outstanding
The noise level at Bolt Bistro was quite loud when we arrived so my companion and I ate at an outside table. The special items on the Raleigh Restaurant Week menu were very well-chosen and prepared to our taste - steak and lamb chops.
It was restaurant week and there was a special menu but not sure if they were prepared for the crowds. Thursday night and drinks were slow to be served because bar was busy with large group order. Appetizers were good and deserts were good. However, They had a hard time getting a teak cooked medium rare. !st one came back as well done. Second one came back as medium but no pink visible and third one came back as medium rare. Manager was helpful and made sure to bring the correctly cooked steak back himself and apologized, but was disappointing they could not get it right the first 2 times.
Went during restaurant week. Food was excellent and service was great. Will definitely return
It was Raleigh Restaurant Week so we expected and got a short delay in getting our table. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was a it noisy but I wouldn't consider it too noisy. The place was nicely decorated with an industrial motif. The food was amazing. The butter sauce on the steak made it one of my top steak choices. We will be back!!
The food was great. I thought they really tried to accommodate everyone. I will definitely return
Perfect date spot for a special occasion. The food was fantastic. Steak was cooked to a perfect temperature. I will be eating here again.
Absolutely delicious!! Wonderful selection. Look forward to going back
We went for restaurant week and were not disappointed. All the food was great, the atmosphere city chic. Wait staff was quick and efficient.
Very good and creative food for the price.
We ate early (6pm), and took advantage of their restaurant week menu.
the waiter was so kind and attentive! His name was Gene i believe but he definitely knows what he's doing
Great food and service. Excellent atmosphere and good prices.
Fun place. Great food. Friendly service. Highly recommended.
Excellent service. Our waiter was new to the area and still in training yet excelled in that personal touch. The ribeye was oneof the best I've ever had.
Great food, good prices. Bartender made an amazing strawberry martini which I recommend.
Bolt is one of our favorite restaurants as the food and service is always a perfect 10. We were with a party of 6 and everyone raved about their meals. Our waiter was Joey and he provided excellent service. He really seemed to enjoy his job! We will be back !
We had never been to Bolt before but will definitely go back. The food was exceptional, service was great, the location was good and within walking distance to the Raleigh Memorial. The drinks were delicious. I can't say enough good things about this gem of a downtown restaurant.
Great place! I have been for both lunch and dinner. Both were great. The lunch menu has awesome salads and sandwiches. The dinner menu had a great surf n turf special and incredible desserts.
My daughter had the filet mignon and I had the pork chop. Both were very good and perfectly cooked. We sat outside and enjoyed the scene.
Great experience here with my husband while traveling over the 4th of July. Steak was delicious and so was the airline chicken. Great dining experience ... Recommend.
I've been to Bolt a few times and each have been very good. Tonight we had the pork chops and short ribs. Both very good with good flavor, plentiful helping and well prepared. The calamari was pretty too. What made it special though was the outdoor seating. Perfect location in downtown Raleigh on a main street. Weather was great for outdoor seating and people watching. The place is within walking distance of everything in the central district (not Glenwood South, Cameron or MidTown). I'll be back.
Great food, atmosphere was nice, and the service was outstanding!
This was out first visit to Bolt, which we visited with friends as part of Raleigh Restaurant Week. We had no idea what to expect, but were very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is very contemporary in a nice way. The service was great. The best though was the food. I enjoyed a mushroom polenta as an appetizer. Superb! My wife had a salad which she said was good. I had a filet and my wife had salmon. We both ordered the Lyonaisse potatoes as a side. I had a cabernet and my wife a chardonnay. We finished it off with their Oreo brownie, a brownie crusted in Oreo crumbs and topped with ice cream. WHAT A MEAL!!! I must have said 10 times that evening how good a meal it was. And as an added bonus, it was really nice to see how vibrant Raleigh was at night.
The service was excellent. The food was delicious. We went during restaurant week so the value was great.
Nice place, good ambiance. Outdoor seating looked nice for a warm evening.
We were looking forward to certain steaks as shown on the online menu, but once there, discovered that a limited "Restaurant Week" menu was the only option so we had fewer choices with a higher price ($30 each). The filet mignon was excellent. I'd probably return for the regular menu at the more affordable price.
If you want a nice atmosphere, delicious food reasonably priced this is the spot for you. I had the Mahi Mahi sandwich again and it was delicious!
Food is always good. Can get backed up at times, but worth a little wait.
