Bolete Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Bolete redeemed itself for me. I had been there before on a date with my fiancé and the food was not very flavorful. I decided to give the restaurant another shot and this time it was outstanding. I had the ahi tuna and watermelon tower which was really creative and flavorful. For a main course I had a pork chop that also we very good. My colleague had a nice salad to start and halibut for the main course. He was very pleased with his food.
Service is very attentive and friendly. I'll be back again with my fiancé to see if our original time there was just a bad day.
This wasour fifth visit to Bolete. We used to live in the Lehigh Valley during our poor college days and found this restaurant later in our life, returning to the Valley for various events. Never disappointed and always delicious. French-Continental cuisine always focusing on seasonal locally sourced ingredients before it became a fad. The service is impeccable with a family-staff atmosphere. This has to be the best restaurant in the Allentown-Bethlehem area. Erin and Lee have hit the mark.
Another amazing meal!!!! The heirloom tomato salad was amazing!!! The scallops with the ravioli was delicious. I loved the peach flavor with it and only Bolete could make kale delicious LOL!!! My hubby won ordering tonight. He had the calamari and fried chicken. We loved the flavors in the calamari the spicy and the lime pieces with the cool crunchy veggies and crispy calamari was spectacular. But the fried chicken. It's the way chicken wants to be cooked. The potatoes were heaven in my mouth and that mustard gravy was amazing!!! Definitely the best fried chicken we have ever had and we just ate our way through the south this summer. Now all I can think about is mustard gravy! We topped it off with butterscotch pudding. Bolete will always be our favorite place to celebrate something special. Service was top notch as always.
Our party of four spent about 500 with tip but we did have drinks and a 60 bottle of wine with our three course meal. We were seated in the bar area so it was a little louder than I would have liked it to be but thats nobody's fault. If you want it softer ask for the dining room. I didn't think to do that. I won't go into the specifics but the food was perfectly prepared. I have not had better service outside of NYC or Paris. Wonderful night out. We will go back with the kids at some point for another wonderful meal.
We are so incredibly lucky to have Bolete in the Lehigh Valley. I've travelled all over the world and eaten at Michelin star restaurants in Nice, San Francisco and NY. Bolete ranks in my top five for sure. The service is friendly and comfortable, not stuffy. The restaurant is in an old carriage house and the décor and ambience are wonderful - warm and welcoming. And then there's the food - fresh, inventive, seasonal, changing on a daily basis and they make their own mozzarella and serve it warm on sandwiches, in salads, etc. And their table bread is the best I've ever had! We go there for dinner several times a year and brunch as well. A superb experience, all around.
This was our first time at Bolete. It was recommended to us by a friend . We made the reservation easily online. The Inn accommodated our special request for a quiet table since we were celebrating our anniversary. The menu was creative and we got to try things that took us to a new dining "outstanding chef" experience unique to Bolete. The service staff attended to detail and was professional yet friendly. We asked the bar tender to select a bottle of wine to go with our meal selection which complemented it perfectly. The entrees we selected were amazing. Our delicious desserts came with lit candles and the staff congratulating us for our anniversary celebration. 👏At Bolete we had a perfect dining experience. Walk back in time to this little Inn and find a dining experience like no other!
Hard to find with GPS; very pricey; food is gourmet but have had as good for less; ambience is excellent; quaint; tavern menu disappointing; could hardly locate any crab on the crab rap done in a hard English muffin that could not be cut with knife. Rolls & salad high quality and taste very good.
