Bolete Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Service was excellent. A large table of 6 came in , very loud , could not make conversation at my table. In center of dining room , couldn't get away from. May ask to sit in bar next time. Had the tasting menu . It was excellent and the cocktails were as good as any I have had. This was our 5th visit and we always enjoy the creative offerings.
As always, some of the most creative combinations of ingredients to compliment the protein in the construction of the main dishes. A unique dining experience. Wine list is a worldly selection of bottles largely unknown without any typical California Chards or cabs - this is both favorable and unfavorable. Would like them to offer espresso. Overall, however, this restaurant retains its number one rating for a reason against exceptionally fine restaurants that are plentiful in the Bethlehem/Lehigh Valley area. This is primarily because of the commitment to quality, local ingredients and the creative way the ingredients are combined to create some exceptional dishes.
Went to Bolete with our favorite "foodie" friends for my husband's birthday. We had an 8:30pm reservation and did not get seated until 9:30-- no one's fault...people just lingered at the table before us. The staff was very apologetic...again, no one's fault. The food was FANTASTIC! The "birds nest" appetizer was quite memorable as was the halibut bouillabaisse entree, short rib pho, and lamb. Our friends THANKED us for including them on this wonderful, amazing food outing! We will be back 💯%
IT took a long time trying to get a Saturday night reservation at a time we wanted but the wait was worth it. Other than asking to be reseated due to a seriously strong cold draft by a window in the taproom, everything else went smoothly. Service was professional, friendly, and attentive (but not overly so).
Food was the feature. Every dish/bowl each of us had consisted of multiple ingredients which together resulted in truly enjoyable flavors and textures. Only downside was that we were too full to order a dessert. Next time!
Meal was amazing and a very nice size portion and the sides were a nice complement. However, the Martini's were great but they din't inform you that they charge extra if it's "up" and a second fee for blue cheese stuffed olives. Overall the drink cost twice as much.
My wife and I found this gem of a restaurant while on a road trip in PA. Looking for a great meal and that is exactly what we got. The food and service were both amazing. The decor is an old world with the fireplace in this historic carriage house. We would love to come back the next time we are in the area.
We have been to Bolete several times. I would characterize the food as impeccable, absolutely delicious from the amazing oysters on a half shell, salad which was fresh and delightful and the wonderful entree. However the service was not....my husband and I feel that they were short staffed the evening we were there. Everyone was polite and apologetic so we will return.
Worthy of a Michelin star, in our opinion. There were three in our party: we each chose a different appetizer and entree, and each of us was wildly impressed. Very high quality ingredients, consummately combined and prepared; nice service; delightfully warm surroundings.
I used to think this was the best in LV, but this is now the 4th time I have been disappointed.
For a chef that wants to be nominated for James Beard award he should be able to serve your entree at the right temperature. The only thing hot on my 52 dollar rib eye were the greens. And if you put a burger on your menu it should be perfect.
My first burger there was perfect, next time horrible over done dry awful roll. Unable to eat it even when they took it back to fix. So third time I tried after letting them know my previous disappointment, still not up to what I would expect.
Will not return.
Bolete has had so many rave reviews, I was a little worried the experience would be disappointing, but it highly met our expectations! My husband was excited about the 1/2 price bottle of wine if under $100 (Wednesday special). We enjoyed a great Cabernet with our meals. He enjoyed the cauliflower soup and salmon, while I had to try the scallop appetizer, and the best lobster roll ever. The food presentation was quite creative. The service was exceptional, yet the atmosphere was quite relaxed and not stuffy at all. A little pricy, but appropriate for our meals. Will definitely return.
Went for a special occasion on a Tuesday night. Quite busy as it seemed that every table in the restaurant was celebrating a birthday or anniversary. With a small place, our table was ready closer to the reservation time. Food was good as both our duck and the pork chop was cooked to perfection. The desert was also excellent. Only qualm was our server seemed to ignore us throughout the service. That was a surprise, perhaps on a different night a different outcome.
Enjoyed this most recent dining experience and had great food, service, and wine. Ambience was very nice and noise level was moderate vs. last visit which was very loud due to a noisy party at large table. I was somewhat disappointed with my scallop appetizer but my wife enjoyed her oyster appetizer and the rest of our meal was excellent. My wife was celebrating her birthday and she thought the dinner, wine, ambience, and overall evening were all excellent--so I was happy too.
Bolete is perfect for celebration dinners like birthdays and on a cold winter night comfort foods like mushroom soup, braised shorts, and a steak were a perfect match along with their Old Fashions to start the evening and french wines for the long dinner conversations with family..Thanks Bolete for a great birthday
We were treated to a perfect evening from start to finish. Our cocktails were perfect. The fresh rolls were delicious. Our salad and entrees were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. It was all topped off with a very nice desert. And, the service was friendly and excellent.
Delicious food, and the portions were sized so that we could enjoy the desert. The staff was very attentive but not at all intrusive. We went with the before 6 pm specials - both of us had the soup; for entree, one of us had salmon and the other duck. We were there on a Wednesday, and the place was full, so make your reservations early!
