Friday & Saturday: 5:00pm - 11:00pm
Brunch: Sunday: 10:00am - 3:00pm
Food was very good. The veggies were excellent. Halibut was delicious. Rib eye was just ok. Rib eyes need fat to make them tender and delicious. This was a little to healthy. No marbling which made it dry. The veggies underneath it were superb!
We were visiting from out of town. Gracious, wonderful service. Delicious and thoughtful food. We highly recommend. Thank you!
One of the best meals I have ever eaten! I love the local ingredients, the attention to detail, and the handcrafted drinks!
Wonderful food and service!
Food was great, this is my fifth time coming. The server was great, the hostess had a major attitude to the point that I almost left when she rolled her eyes at us.
The other four times I’ve been has been an amazing experience, Saturday night was not.
As always, a beautifully prepared and presented meal. Seating by the kitchen door was uncomfortable as I got thumped most every time it was opened, but charming service (Thanks, Dana), and delicious food mostly made up for the irritation. This is a meal not to be missed, and we appreciate Chef Chizmar efforts and mission to deliver thoughtful and delicious food. The oysters alone were worth the trip.
The food at Bolete is always consistently dynamic and delicious. His creativity and flair for the unique pairings of food is genius. I wish I had a restaurant like Bolete closer to me. Never dissapoints!!!
We have dinner at Bolete two or three times every year- it is a 1+ hour drive from our home. We have never been disappointed, and always find something new and creative on the menu to try. The wine list is very good, although a little pricey at the higher end. The service is excellent. The "surf & turf" oysters were really different and delicious.
Always very good.
This was our first Brunch at Bolete. The food was incredible as usual. We were brought a tasty plate of homemade muffins/scones/bread to begin our meal. Our kids were delighted. We just love the homemade breads used in our entrees and the flavors. Will definitely be back for Brunch again!
Lovely ambiance.. attention to detail... attentive to allergies...great service.
The food was creative, tasty with a great presentation. The entire staff could not have been nicer. Would recommend this to any foodie looking for a unique experience
Ambience is comfortable. Our waitress is knowledgeable, wait staff are attentive. Food choices (oysters, asparagus salad, Rib eye, duck breast) are delicious. An inconspicuous location for such a great restaurant.
I will come back again to try other thing on the menu.
Another memorable meal at Bolete!! The beef marrow bone and accompanying condiment were superb. The foie gras was pure velvet. The warm cheese was a delight. But no meal is complete withiut the out of this world butterscotch pudding. Ethereal! Thanks, Bolete!
Meh, we have dined here before and loved it, this time it was just ok.
My wife and I were there for dinner. I had to the ribeye and my wife the pork chop. Both were cooked to perfection and delicious. Service was always attentive and on point. Pace of the meal was very good as well, as it made for a relaxing evening. Excellent all around. Would highly recommend.
Wonderful food, beautifully prepared. Staff is razor-focused on making sure you enjoy dining there. Asparagus soup was a delight for the tastebuds & a piece of performance art (final preparation done as it's served).
Fantastic - always a pleasure. Unusual combinations that really surprise.
The very best restaurant in the Lehigh Valley. The food is excellent, as is the service.
Always have a great time at bolete from the first sip to the last bite! This was no exception- everything was excellent.
Stellar. Five Star. The word Bolete means mushroom or toadstool - and not being a "funghi" lover was a bit concerned about the perceived (over?) use after reading the menu. It just seemed as if every dish had some sort of mushroom as an ingredient. "Hey, maybe that's their thing."...she said, tongue in cheek. We started with Steak Tartare which came with it's own pot of crispy potato chips, those heavenly yeasty rolls, the asparagus bisque with lobster and just a hint of mushroom then on to the scallops with risotto and pork chop - every single dish was layered with flavor, so many layers. Loved the slightly undercooked new peas in the risotto, just enough texture to offset the scallop and and creamy risotto. Dessert was pretty amazing too - the chocolate hazelnut dessert with crunch, ganache and ice cream reminded me of what Ho's Ho's really should taste like if they were, um, good. Of course I've never eaten them hahahahaha....bottom line and back to seriousness, this restaurant was worth pinning their little blurb that I found a couple years ago, to my bulletin board of bucket list restaurants, and making a point to dine there while in town. It is loud, but comfortable and the service is exemplary from the moment you walk in until you leave. LOVE. Oh, and the little salt and pepper bowls on the table - thank you, not that anything needed salt but having the option done properly in a nice restaurant shows a consideration for the guest that many restaurants forgo. Well done, staff and owners, well done.
I've been to Bolete many times and it is simply the best food! On this occasion ( a Friday evening at 7 PM), although the food and service was as great as usual, the noise level was simply intolerable. There were 2 big parties on either side of us and once one of them left it was somewhat better. My sister (from California was visiting and I had raved to her about Bolete; she agreed with my assessment of the food and service...unfortunately it was really hard to catch up because it was so noisey we had to shout to hear each other.
Atmosphere was rustic - felt like you were in a farmhouse. The service was terrific from the time you walked in. The greeter was friendly and immediately showed us to our seats. About five different servers were always asking if we needed water, rolls etc. The food was superb. At 5:00 you could select from a fixe price menu of several of the appetizers and main courses. We had a delicious asparagus soup to start. I had the crispy duck leg and my wife had the salmon. They were both prepared to perfection - crispy and tender. For dessert we both had the unbelievable tasty butterscotch pudding. What a great way to celebrate our 46th Anniversary!
I wanted to treat my friend/date to an exceptional dining experience as he is a great lover of interesting, unique and delicious cuisine. We were not disappointed. Every dish we had was thoughtfully conceptualized, executed and presented. I love that the ingredients are obtained locally and the menu is seasonal using only the best ingredients for a specific time of year. This ensured that our taste experience was the ultimate in flavor! I highly recommend Bolete and can not wait for my next visit!!
Bolete has some of the best, fastest, most attentive service in the Lehigh Valley. We had one of our all time most favorite meals there... the food is fresh, inventive, and delicious. Would definitely recommend!
I was so disappointed, but maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I had looked forward to dining at Bolete for a long time. The service was excellent, as was the ambiance.
I ordered the rib eye, and it had no flavor. I have never had a rib eye sliced like they did it, and even after adding salt, it was fairly bland, which is not what I would expect from that cut of meat. The waitress warned that it was less marbled than a typical rib eye (more like a filet she said), but it was very disappointing, especially for the $50+ price. The presentation was excellent, and the serving size was generous, though.
Bolete was wonderful experience. We really enjoyed the fine service and excellent cuisine. I would rank this restaurant at the top of the list. I recommend it highly.
We chose Bolete for a nice dinner while visiting from out of town. The reviews were great so we made reservations. Our meal was absolutely fantastic! Our waiter suggested the calamari and he was right. It was the BEST calamari we have ever eaten. It was lightly breaded, fresh-tasting and the presentation was amazing. We ate everything on the plate! My sister had the duck for her entree and said it was fabulous; I had the halibut which was just perfect with a few delicious gnocchi for garnish. We shared butterscotch pudding for dessert (again, on our waiter's recommendation) and were very pleased. It was a great meal, in a cute little restaurant - a very special evening.
Excellent Sunday Brunch after graduation before heading to Philly. I started with the chilled spring pea soup with lobster. So fresh and delicious. They also serve a bread basket with scones that taste more like croissants! My son loved the duck hash and I was in heaven with the benedict with mushrooms and oysters. Love the historical stage coach setting. Very reasonable and free parking on site. Attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommend!
Our food and service was outstanding. Best restaurant we have been to in the Lehigh Valley. The drinks and dessert were amazing.
Food was underwhelming and frankly mediocre compared to expectations and price. Maybe we had an off night but we most likely wouldn’t go back.
great meal, as always! creative and beyond delicious. the service is on point too!
One of my customer recommend this restaurant, but food is not really good and pricy compare to another restaurant.
Excellent experience overall. My wife and I went for our wedding anniversary. Service and food were fantastic.
My husband and I are vegetarian which was very easy to accommodate. Our server was very attentive and the whole staff seemed very friendly. We went during dinner for a special occasion and the atmosphere was lovely. The food was excellent, a real farm-to-table experience, and a nice presentation as well. Started with a salad which had a nice blend of flavors. For the entree, we were given an option for a sampler or a cohesive meal and opted for the latter. We were presented with gnocchi and fresh greens for one meal, risotto with fresh greens for the other. Local mushrooms, foraged ramps, and foraged fiddle heads were incorporated. We finished the meal with a housemade butterscotch pudding topped with freshly made whipped vanilla bean cream and candied nuts. Delicious!
Love this place. Everything is always perfect!
A birthday dinner, amazing food, great atmosphere!!
This was our first visit to Bolete. We had brunch. I was pleasantly surprised by the unusual combinations that were offered. I chose the eggs benedict with smoked arctic char, mixed seasonal greens and breakfast potatoes. It was attractively presented in a large bowl. I enjoyed every bite but could not finish it all! We will definitely dine there again and plan to go for dinner the next time.
Not that great. Food was not great. My second time. Disappointed again. Food looked great, however it did not taste great. It was not seasoned well. The asparagus was bitter and chewy. The best was the dessert.
Beautiful building with great history. Service was good, a little slow, but the staff were really hustling around. Food was delicious. They were out of the halibut, but I was able to substitute it for salmon. Large wine, beer and cocktail list. I had their homemade cookies and cream ice cream for dessert, which was also very good. I’d definitely return. Highly recommended!
