Bolero Ratings and Reviews
Excellent food! I was surprised at the wide range of selection of meats that were served. The bacon wrapped chicken was my absolute favorite - didn't come around to our table as much as I had hoped, but that may also be a good thing. LOL. Delicious food, excellent salad bar to boot. This was my first time to Bolero and I will definitely be back!
Amazing as always! Nice cozy seat by a fire place in a booth, secluded but not forgotten! Great wine pairing reccomendation from our knowledgeable and witty server, Promt and polite service by the gouchos carving the meat, treating us with a great description of the oh so delicious meats! As well as some friendly banter, the tres leche was to die for! We wish we got an other to take home.
Would have been a great experience but we were aimed at a very large table filled with children and babies and we were there for my grandparents 50th anniversary and after the table had been cleaned the mess on the floor was still there so it was kind off-putting in the end.
I've been here many times before and everything has been wonderful. This time that wasn't the case. While our main server was great, the other service was seriously lacking.
We had a reservation for a group of 6 of us. Unfortunately, I didn't request a table closer to the kitchen. I will know better for next time.
We were seated on the opposite side of the house from the kitchen. We had to ask numerous times to have the meat come to our table, as it seemed like the servers with the skewers would overlook us, or had run out by the time they got to our table. On top of that, most of the beef was overcooked, more along the lines of well done as opposed to rare or mid rare. The meat was also cool, if not cold by the time it got to our table. This made it tough, hard to chew, and digest for a few of us.
I was incredibly disappointed with those two aspects in particular. I definitely don't feel like I got my money's worth this time around.
I really wish we could have had a better dining experience for our yearly tradition.
It was the first time we have been to Bolero for the brunch. We treated some family members who were visiting town. We had reservations for 1:30pm. I read the brunch only goes till about 2pm but thought since they had such late reservations that the brunch would keep going. When we got there for our reservation a lot of the buffet foods were empty or near empty and to my surprise didn't get replenished. There wasn't a lot of meat selections and not everything on the menu was available. Usually you have 2 hours per seating and about 45-60 minutes after we arrived we were told it was the kitchens "last call". Overall I was disappointed in the brunch and will not be returning.
This place is usually pretty good, so I’ll be forgiving in this review. Every skewer of meat that we got was burnt. Even the bacon wrapped meats were burnt. Burning bacon is a sin, right? Tsk tsk
Staff were friendly. But we left hungry. Who pays > $100 for two and leaves hungry? Unhappy customers, that’s who!
My father and I went to the restaurant just for a get together over the holidays. He lives in Ontario and neither of us had ever been there before. The staff were amazing, friendly and sociable, the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. It wasn't too loud that we couldn't chat and catch, but loud enough that we could enjoy the music and atmosphere all at the same time.
I went with my girlfriend and her two brothers. My girlfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and her brothers were celebrating their own things. Food was good. We were sitting in the back corner so at times we were going 15 - 20 minutes of no one coming with food. If they did come with food it was normally the sausage. It was really good, just wish the service was better.
We usually love bolero but this time was ruined by one of the servers. We tried asking her MULTIPLE times each time she came to our table to cut items in a certain way (and in a way that other servers will happily oblige) and she flat out refused and was rude to us each time. We even went so far as to ask for another server to bring us the item that was causing the friction, and instead she came again in an almost “haha you’re not getting the person you want” and like she was determined to ruin our experience that evening. We mentioned it to the manager as we left, but the evening had a sour taste to it due to this server and I’m not sure we will ever return.
We really enjoyed the meal and our waiter was great. The only recommendation I would make is that I had reserved the table with the notification that it was a birthday. I would have liked the restaurant to have made a bit of a recognition of the birthday person without me having to tell the waiter after we had our meal before ordering dessert. It kinda numbs the surprise sparkler in her dessert. Otherwise everything else was great. Thank you
Selection of food was great, however, the quality of the meats and the service from the carvers is where it lacks.
4 to 5 of the steak and pork dishes were overdone where it was tough to chew.
Some servers would not come around for 5+ minutes and some would walk on by without asking to carve meat while plates were empty and the green sign was up.
Our actual server Phil, was fantastic and took care of us from start to finish. It's just too bad his colleagues weren't up to par with his level of service.
Food wasn't that great. The salad bar had a large variety but all the selections were poorly put together and the flavors were bland. The meat was fine but much of it was dry and poorly seasoned, and we were told there were 14 different barbequed meats and things but we only ever got offered 6. It was a nice ambiance, but if you're looking for some top notch barbeque, you won't find it at Boleros.
A nice place, with good ambiance - but incredibly expensive (overpriced?). Meats were nice and I enjoyed the variety. Buffet was limited in selection and not too hot (temperature). Overall an enjoyable evening, but far too expensive ($287 for a party of 4 with 1 bottle of wine) so I don't see us going back.
The table server was good but the individuals cutting the meat were not very skilled. Also, we had to ask our server for meats that never came after 1-1/2hrs of dining (chicken wings, picahna and another steak I cant remember). Server was able to have those brought to us shortly after requesting it, but was unfortunately near the end of our 2-hr table time window for eating. Meats were often overcooked on the outside and way undercooked on the inside.
Amazing experience from start to finish, and the perfect way to satisfy my carnivorous boyfriend. We managed to try everything we wanted. And our special requests were met promptly. So after eating enough to feed a small village, we left extremely satisfied - unable to accomplish anything after for fear of exploding. The lava cake was just average, but shame on us for ordering it in the first place.
All of the service staff was friendly, and the manager came by to check on us, and said good bye as we were leaving. It was obvious that the restaurant encourages a great team environment. A complete all round win from someone in the industry. Congrats everyone for making my boyfriend’s birthday a great one.
