Bolero Ratings and Reviews
We love Bolero. It is such a unique dining experience. We’ve come for birthdays and anniversaries so far as a couple and always have a great time. The food is to die for. And the Tres Leches cake! If I was ever a death row inmate, that would be my last meal request. A whole Tres Leches cake!
We have been to Bolero on a number of occasions. It is one of those Brazilian bar-b-que's where someone brings around the meat on a skewer and carves you a piece onto your plate. Our waiter was fantastic - he was just attentive enough, but no so much that he was annoying. That said, I was not impressed with the people walking around serving the meat. In the past, their servers always treated the meat with 'respect' - but this time, they were just cutting it off the skewer in chunks, with no regard for cutting across the grain, an even thickness in the piece of meat, or making sure that each piece had spices, etc. I know it sounds 'finicky' and maybe it wouldn't bother others, but it is a pricey meal, and to get chunks of tough meat left me feeling dissatisfied.
All the meat was extremely chewy due to the low quality of cut or possibly being over cooked. I took my boyfriend for his bday and we we both extremely disappointed. Thought the meat should of been tender and super flavourful. Ambiance and service was nice.
The food was good enough but the amount the servers were going around left us sitting there with out anything on our plates the majority of the time. We only saw certain items once like the pork ribs, bacon wrapped chicken, and the pineapple glazed ham. The caramelized pineapple was under cooked or burnt the couple of times it came around... it was not the best experience we have had there..
Excellent food! I was surprised at the wide range of selection of meats that were served. The bacon wrapped chicken was my absolute favorite - didn't come around to our table as much as I had hoped, but that may also be a good thing. LOL. Delicious food, excellent salad bar to boot. This was my first time to Bolero and I will definitely be back!
