Bolero Ratings and Reviews
We visited Bolero to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. We heard good things from friends and family so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. Excellent food and attentive service! Definitely worth it especially to celebrate a special occasion.
We had a good time at Boleros, with plenty to eat. Was disappointed that some of the meats on the list never made an appearance, such as the lamb and bacon wrapped steak, but that the sausage (not my favourite) was offered several times. Overall a good experience.
Meats were not very good. Most of it was either burnt or overcooked. Our server basically forgot about us most of the night. The salad bar was a bit underwhelming. The only good thing was the girl that was serving/cutting the meats, she was really nice. The price of 45$ / person for this quality of food is definitely not worth it. Gauchos is by far the better Brazilian BBQ place. This place was highly recommended by friends but I don’t see what all the hype is about.
Food came out too slow, and when the meat came the pieces are barely enough to last two minutes. Seemed like a giant waste of time waiting 10mins for a every tiny piece of meat.... I appreciatw that they were trying to create an atmosphere of an unique dining experience, however, intentionally pacing the customers isn't good practice when trying to cater a wide variety of consumers.
Bolero is always a great time. It's not just a meal, it's an event. The food is great, sure it's not fine dinning but it's not meant to be. It's a meat fest with a touch of class. Prepare to have great fun and eat yourself stupid! Oh wait, one negative, they need to learn how to make an old fashioned! No no, 2 negatives, there is never enough pineapple!!! C'mon everyone comes for the pineapple!!!
We went on a very bad day for brunch. The place was full and low on staff. Service was below it's usual attentiveness. Had to wait for dishes to be put out at the buffet and, when they were, they were burning hot from the washer. We were not able to enjoy the full buffet due to the food, especially desserts, were not being put out fast enough. My husband couldn't enjoy the delicious creme brulee or flan.
Our server apologized for the lousy service but did not offer a discount or anything, despite knowing we were customers that have been going to Bolero for years.
We're not impressed and have no intention of returning.
Always enjoy Bolero for brunch! Amy welcomes you with great enthusiasm and a fabulous smile!! Andrew is one of our favourite waiters! We are always well taken care of by all of the staff! Food is amazing and lots of choices for everyone!!! We love getting a booth to sit back and relax!
I love going to Bolero because of the quality of the meat and great atmosphere. I was excited to bring my new girlfriend to experience the Brazilian BBQ that I knew and loved. We were both sadly disappointed with our time there this time. It took about 20 minutes for anyone to serve us from a skewer and we had a few servers say "Sorry, I didn't see you there". We had very sparse service for about an hour. Most of the servers seemed to pass by us, go straight for a large party table, and come back with empty skewers. When servers finally started frequenting our table, one of the more regular ones was very small in stature, in training, and verbalized that she struggled with the meat a lot. We ended up getting mere shavings of charred pieces from her. We felt really neglected and unfortunately did not get our money's worth this time. I don't know if we will be back any time soon.
Was pretty disappointed with the overall service. Weren’t told that gratuity was already added to our bills and were given separate bills to maximize the overall tip which was horsecrap. The food was ok. Not great just ok. Definitely not worth the $45/person they charged. Most of the white meat was over cooked and dry and the red meats were either over cooked or completely undercooked. The pineapple was great but not enough of it for sure. The sides were ok loved the park veggies but that’s all. Those weren’t worth the $45/person. Won’t be returning for food. The cocojito was delicious and decently priced but other then that the only thing truly worth eating there is the tres leche cake. That’s it.
I have been to Bolero many times, and will continue to go back. It's an experience - not just a meal! Very impressive! And the atmosphere is perfect - not loud, no kids, cozy with the fireplaces, great architecture to the vaulted ceilings... Love this place ❤
Excellent food, lots of meat. Unfortunately they were out of picanha on a Sunday at 6 pm (long weekend). Great service. The one thing I did not understand was that they cut they meat and pineapple at your table and the waiter dropped a piece of pineapple and at the end of the night it was still there although mulitiple people saw it and walked by. Easy thing to slip on.
Great drinks! We had a jug of sangria and it was good!!
This was not our first experience at Bolero. Compared to our previous experience I would say that this restaurant has lost some credibility with us. There was not only a. Hair in my shrimp from the self serve bar, there was also plastic package wrapping in my roasted red peppers. The two strikes had deterred me from returning to the bar and sticking to the beats only. There was no compensation offered to remediate these issues. However, the staff were quite attentive and amicable.
