Bol is a great spot in Vail! It also has a fun, cool, social Bowling Alley. I are there For lunch,.The Ahi Tuna is perfect and quite tasty with diced avocado and cucumbers . I'd love to try some other items but the tuna was so good, I may have order that again! I ate at the bar and the bartender/server was very friendly and attentive...and made a great Classic Marguerite with an added shot of Cointreau. Highly recommended!
We returned to Bol this year, because we had an excellent experience last year, and we were sadly disappointed. Last year, the food and atmosphere was excellent. Apparently there is a new chef and the food was mediocre at best. My first plate of food came out cold, the second plate wasn't much better. It was more expensive this year as well. The waitstaff was absolutely terrible. We wanted to order a bottle of wine, and the waiter could not give any information to us. Nor did he even offer to get someone who could help! He brought the bottle out for us to look at. We had to ask for drink/water refills. The music was ridiculously loud. We were very easy-going group and this was a big Thanksgiving disappointment.
Awesome for a group. Food was fantastic!! Was able to enjoy bowling after a great meal in a classy setting.
We had the MOST amazing server--thanks Lilly for an great evening!
Made a vacation reservation in Vail. car that point the menu looked great. Arrived at restaurant, was promptly seated , but buy a family w/ 4 kids; 2 of whom were crying and throwing fits. We are a no-kids couple and the whole inside was open. Ordered drinks and food, but the restaurant was not accommodating to allergies what so ever. Just a blank stare from our server; No budging at all. So we paid for our drinks and left. Menu did not truly indicate what was in dishes; i.e.: gluten, peppers, dairy allergies. Basic stuff.
Bol is always lively and a great option when looking for something different in Vail! We frequently have large groups here and they always take great care of us. Great selection of food and drinks!
The food here is underrated, I think. I had the beef carpaccio and it is the best in town. The steak was also good and they have an interesting cocktail and wine list. As an added bonus, the price point is less than most other places in the village for the food quality. It's a great option in Vail.
Very good food while bowling or in restaurant. Great location I the village
I went to Bol for my birthday dinner with my mom and raved about how great this place was, and was slightly disappointed. The food, tuna tartare, is always outstanding. My one complaint which was a big one because of the occasion, was the unenthusiastic server and staff. It would have been nice to feel more welcomed and Perhaps had my birthday seem special. I will not celebrate an occasion like a birthday here again.
All the booths were reserved for locals and friends of staff as the Kardashians were present and filmimg somewhere in the restaurant or bowling alley portion. Service was focused on this activity as well, rather than regular dining guests like our family. Left feeling extremely disappointed and unlikely to return to Bol
Best food in Vail.. Love Bol. Fun casual atmosphere!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Really outstanding dining experience. Great service, excellent food, and fabulous wine list!
Octopus was over cooked and tasteless. Vegetable soup was cold and bland...
Food was good, not great which was really disappointing given other reviews and particularly given the price! My son ordered a red pasta dish with various shellfish but the sauce was way too salty and hard to finish. I ordered salmon which was cooked perfectly but the accompanying vegetables were overlooked and not very tasty. On the positive side, our Cesear salads, the wine (recommended by the waiter) was excellent as was the wine list, just be prepared for overspending on wine. Service was also excellent. This is clearly a trendy place as it was incredibly busy just disapooited the food wasn't better given the price.
They do a great job catering to kids and adults alike - the food choices are great and everything we have had has been very tasty.
Very good food and excellent service. A little loud and I don't think it was because of the bowling alley.
This restaurant was wonderful. Kids felt like they were in a super hip club and really enjoyed there dinners as well so it was a win win! Impeccable service from everyone, unique cocktails, nice beer menu and great kids menu. $20 pre fix meal included crudités, 5 oz steak and dessert. My husband and I split a fantastic grilled Avacado and crab salad, Bolognese and a spec ham, pecorino and pea pizza--all delicious!! Would definitely recommend and would go back!
Went with four people. First, the noise level is very high. Not a soft surface in sight to absorb sound. It was very loud. Food was okay. I had the chicken paillard which I cannot recommend. It has some sort of salad greens piled on top with 6 fried gnocci surrounding it. The chicken was completely tasteless and I sent it back (which to their credit they did not charge me for). Others had the salmon which looked very good and apparently was.
I was looking for a more cost effective place in Vail that might be a little more casual. This is not it.
Had a terrific time at BOL! As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a HUGE bar with giant TV's. Very vibrant and the all the bartenders are terrific. Tacy, Grant and James were amazing behind the bar and were very knowledgeable with spirits and beer. We went to a few other places in the area and these three are by far the best mixologist's we came across! The bowling alley is just something to be seen! Great lounge with couches, private screens and the people next to us even had bottle service! The area is comfortable and away from the main area to dine. Mitch and Dave got us all set up with shoes and the proper bowling balls. They brought them out to the lane for us and even put all our names in the system...great service! Our server was Lillihe and she was just amazing, extremely friendly and personable. She walked us through the menu and picked several great apps and entrees for us. The Chef here is clearly is devoted to his craft as everything we had was GREAT!
Kuddos to all those involved at BOL! You made our trip to Vail one to remember..and one to tell our friends about.
Not a very extensive menu. Mostly finger food with a delicious slant. Eat in the alley not in the dining room.
Fun place to dine. Surprisingly good food. I want expecting such tasty, gourmet food at a bowling alley. Bol is much more than a bowling alley though. Disappointed that you have to make separate reservations for dining and bowling. Btw, Watch out for high priced kids drinks. $6 per kids drink and no refills.
Initially a very good experience. Wait staff was very attentive at first but seemed to lose interest after our entrees were delivered. The starters were amazing (duck buns and grilled salad). But the new York strip and salmon were completely unimpressive and over priced. Funky atmosphere and fun bar. A mixed experience overall.
We had a fun time. The grilled octopus was very tasty, the duck on homemade noodles was great as well. Very good beer list.
This was my first visit to Bol. I liked it a lot. The atmosphere was very modern, very attractive, and family friendly. The service was super. The menu presented interesting options. The food was delicious. And the prices are very reasonable by Vail standards. I recommend it and I will be back.
I'd heard good things about this place, but it by far exceeded my expectations. Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly and the service was quick, attentive and friendly. Great oysters, the tuna tartare melts in your mouth, the salmon salad has the perfect balance of flavors and the duck pappardelle with fresh made pasta and mushrooms was amazing. Hands down the best meal I've had in Vail in quite some time. Can't wait to come back!
We dined at Bol last year, and decided to try it again this year during our annual trip to Vail - this year, based on knowing what to order, it was our favorite dining experience with the kids in tow. Here's what worked for us (2 adults/ 2 kids) -- we skipped the kid's menu because it is over-priced! I wrote this in my last review. Instead we ordered: Apps: Tuna Tartare and Buffalo Chicken wings (both were delicious - although I would get one other one next time since neither appealed to the kids). Dinner: Kids split a pizza off the main menu - the server was able to make just a pepperoni one rather than a fancy one from the menu (there were pieces left that we adults ate). My husband and I split a burger which was delicious - big, juicy and the fries were fantastic. Dessert: We split -- Brownie with ice cream; and 1 son got his own: 1 scoop of Nutella ice cream. The only change I would make would be to order another appetizer. We were really full though, so I'm not sure if that would even be wise!
Place looks very cool - hip and trendy scene and food was creative and very good. Brought our teenage kids along and they loved it also.
Our family has been coming to Vail for many years and has enjoyed dining at a variety of restaurants in town. I have to say that the steak that we had at Bol was the best we've had in Vail...better than Elways or Flame at the Four Seasons. Overall, the food was great!
Great food, service and good ambiance. .....
Horrible. They told me right before sitting us for our 7pm rez, that they needed my table for another reservation at 8:30pm and we should be prepared to make it quick. Never again.
Bol has amazing food, bowling and the very best drinks in Vail. We had a rehearsal dinner there and it was a blast! Tons of fun and fabulous food. Service is superb.
the restaurant is in front of the bowling alley so restaurant is loud with a lot of activity. the menu was extensive and everything delicious! excellent service.
I wasn't sure what to expect from a combination restaurant and bowling alley. The restaurant is in the front and the bowling alley is really partitioned off from the dining area, however, it can be a bit noisy since the bowling alley is quite popular and very crowded. The restaurant has a very clean modern motif. We started with some of the specialty cocktails which were unusual and absolutely delicious. The food is reasonably priced and the portion generous. Our server was attentive, efficient, and answered questions I had a beef burger and my husband had a shrimp scallop burger. We also ordered a side of beet root and fennel which was outstanding. I would definitely go again.
Jess was great! Quick and helpful with several children in attendance.
My family and I ate here as a family our last night in Vail. Nice variety of items on menu, food was good, very modern decor. We didn't actually bowl, but would have liked too. Sounded like a good time.....
We go to Bol every time we visit Vail to ski, so have been here several times. This time around service was very off. We had ask hostess to locate server as no one came over for 10 minutes after we were seated. Drinks were almost gone before we were checked on again. We just order appetizers and they came at all different times, so some in our group were finished eating before others even got their food. The place was busy but not so busy that servers shouldn't be able to keep up. But the food was still good so hopefully just an bad night.
My 20 year old son and I had a simple objective: a great dinner in a fun place. Mission Accomplished! We had a simple dinner and loved it: 2 salads and 2 hamburgers! The burgers were big and juicy on a great brioche bun. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The ambiance was great - a little like Las Vegas. Big TVs, silvery decorations, and great background music. It was noisy, but in a good way. Lots going on - and we were part of it! Also, we were lucky enough to sit in a booth. As a side note, this was our first trip to Vail and this was the 5th dinner out in a row. Of all the restaurants, all in all, this was our favorite (and btw least expensive) - not to say that our other meals weren't any good. We ate at the Chophouse, Yama, Pepi's, Campo di Fiore, Montauk, Chophouse. We would have liked to bowl, but didn't make a reservation early enough. I haven't bothered to review any of the others.
Had a great experience for lunch and a dinner. Fun place!
Don't let the bowling alley fool you. This is a serious restaurant making serious comfort and eclectic food.
Great service! By All staff. We celebrated my daughters 7th Bday and she was in a wheelchair and they all accommodated us well, even thought we were a little in their way, they never made us feel like that. Even the chef came out since I just had to applaud his work in the kitchen.
