About Boitson's Restaurant
An old storefront in Kingston's Historic Uptown District, a simple sliver of a space, has received a sumptuous update by its new tenant: Boitson's Restaurant. The menu is American, refined, yet comfortable from Steak Frites to Fried Chicken. as well as dishes for vegans and guests with special dietary needs. The dining area is a carefully considered homage to both the upscale bistro and the "old man" bar. In good weather, the back deck, with views of the Catskills, is another of Boitson's many secrets awaiting to be discovered.

Boitson's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Oysters served correctly eve though a little pricey will return for oysters. Devils on Horseback appetizer is superb. They mix a nice drink but also a little pricey. It's a tiny place so the tables are close and the noise level is kind of high.
Will definitely return to try more dishes, for oysters, and other apps.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in the area. I have never been disappointed, the food is always eyes-roll back in your head delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and efficient but not pushy in the least and extremely knowledgeable about the food and drinks, able to make great recommendations. You can also go for lower cost meal with some of their 'standards' or by just doing cocktails and small plates, or you can go big or go home with appetizers, drinks and one of their daily specials- which are always changing with the season and availability of sustainable food. Plus- raw bar. You can't go wrong with the raw bar! They truly are a gem.
Love Boitson's. It's part of Kingston's up and coming Stockade District. A pre-drink down the street at Stockade Tavern is always fun. With new shops and hotels opening around the corner in the coming months its exciting to know that Boitson's booming will only boom even louder.
Great food. Great mood. enjoy.
We wanted inexpensive good comfort food and we got it. Service was terrific; the noise level was reasonable for a pair of elders; the burger and fries were tasty and generous (overly, on the fries - hard to resist taking virtually an entire extra order home after eating a full plate).
And I highly recommend the generous and tasty wine flight - for $10 you choose your own and they were all decent (and I can be picky!)
We will definitely return.
We had dinner reservation for 9 pm. From the menu 75% of the food wasn't available, especially the popular items which we were looking forward to have. We ordered the scallops and steak. The Scallops were tiny, fried only on one side, completely cold and laid on a bed of salad. When I asked the server about the cold scallops, she literally made excuses and wasn't ready to take it back. She even suggested to re-heat the already overcooked scallops(blasphemous). Her ignorance became apparent. I educated her stating I knew what & how a scallop is supposed to be cooked and what texture is expected. Later, she returned the dull dish and probably the head Chef made it again. Second time around the scallops were medium size, warmer but I did think there were small sand grains. Not the most pleasant experience.
Our dinner was very delicious. The service was a little stressed, distracted, not very observant. The 2top tables were too small for thetiming of the food being brought out.Servers were always asking to remove plates we were not done with, while holding the next entree. Not very relaxing with having to juggle what was on the table.
I had family in for the holiday weekend and there were 2 birthdays we were celebrating. My husband and I are vegan and chose Boitson's because they offered 3 vegan options that I saw on their online menu. We have trouble finding restaurants that accommodate so this looked promising. The news on our arrival was they didn't have the veggie burger and they took the seitan meatloaf off the menu. We ordered the salad which had the absolute worst salad dressing I've ever had - and then discovered they put bacon in it, ignoring our vegan request. Beyond any of this was experiencing THE WORST attitude from the waitress and management even mentioning it. EXTREMELY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. They were acting like they were put out. Needless to say, we left before the meal arrived. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT...been talking to others now how have had bad service here and attitude. Too many other good places to eat in Kingston...go there.
We came up to explore local scene from the city. Read about this restaurant on a blog and had roots in Brooklyn my hometown! Adorable place great back patio everyone very friendly. Food was locally sourced and very tasty although very very slow in coming. Despite that would highly recommend! If we happen to be in the area again would definitely go back!
Food was good. The noise level was a bit higher, but you get used to it after a while. Outdoor seating was beautiful and really made you feel away from Kingston. Waitress did not seem to be interested in our table and forgot to place our appetizer order. Did not see her through most of the dinning experience.
The outdoor seating and bar upstairs are the best features of this restaurant. Indoor tables are rather cramped. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable, but they had too many tables to provide attentive service. If you weren't ready the first time the server approached, you had a l-o-n-g wait until anyone came back again. The menu is a bit eccentric. There are not a lot of choices, but they seem to have one option in every category (vegetarian, steak, comfort food, etc.) The raw oysters were fresh and good, and the trout I ordered was outstanding, although I left a little bit hungry. The people who ordered the fried chicken didn't leave hungry, but they didn't enjoy it as much as I liked mine. They were also taken aback when the beer AND the "half-bottle" of wine arrived in cans (!) The server graciously took the canned wine back and brought us a bottle of something else. So... on a nice evening, eating outdoors, I would recommend giving it a try. It isn't just like every other place you've been. We all decided we would go back, but because the choices are limited, you wouldn't want to go there regularly .
