Bohemia is a Modern British restaurant situated in Birmingham’s buzzing Selly Oak area. This exciting addition to Birmingham's restaurant scene adds a continental feel to the area. Open almost all day, you can pop in for an afternoon lite bite with fair trade coffee or enjoy the more formal evening air at this smart and contemporary establishment. True to its name, Bohemia offers wonderfully relaxed and chilled vibe, and diners are made to feel instantly at ease. Head Chef Ross has created an exciting Modern British menu that changes monthly so you have a new array of choices upon every return visit. Diners love dishes like herb sausage, black pudding and duck egg terrine with plum tomato chutney; poached cod fillet with garlic, chilli and coriander butter; slow-cooked rib of beef with chorizo, dauphinoise potatoes; and Pimms and lemonade jelly with homemade strawberry clotted cream ice cream. Bohemia runs regular jazz nights, acoustic nights and comedy evenings.

Once again we had a super meal at Bohemia. The 4 of us really enjoyed the whole experience, the warm greeting, knowledgeable staff, excellent service and exquisite food, a real interesting menu, perfectly cooked and a good sensible reasonably priced wine list and the live music only added to the ambience and experience. We look forward to our next visit.

Me and my boyfriend went for an evening meal here after a recommendation from a friend. The gentleman at the front of house was polite and funny which made us feel at ease. He ensured we were looked after as did the chef who personally came out and was speaking to customers, making sure they were happy with their meals, which I thought was a lovely touch. It's worth keeping an eye on the menus as apparently they tend to change on a seasonal basis. These are on their website though as is their online table booking system. Drinks were alot cheaper than we thought they would be and the restaurant itself was clean and contemporary in decor . We look forward to becoming regulars and going back soon, the food was to die for

We originally booked for 3, but they managed to expand our table to 6 - took two of our daughter's friends, and then at the last minute her boyfriend arranged to join us. Live music good, though a bit over-amplified to start off with. The usual good meal - this is one of our regular places to eat out.

My family have visited Bohemia on several occasions and never been disappointed, however our last meal was the best ever.

Food nice, good size portions. Red pepper starter was all out of jars but all the other food we had was very good. Resturant small so booking is probably required. Would have felt more cozy and atmospheric if the lights had been lowered and there was some back ground music.

Have been eating here since it was newly opened, it just gets better. The Scallop starter was so good I could have eaten it forever...had the Pork Belly for main, this dish can vary so much from restaurant to restaurant but I was not disappointed it was one of the best I'd eaten, refined and delicious with plenty of scrummy vegetables. Great restaurant that has a relaxed & friendly atmosphere and serves Really Good Innovative Food - Great for Evening Dinning, Lunch shouldn't be missed either! .......Well Done Bohemia

This was one of a series of 50th birthday meals for me with my partner and we invited 4 of our close friends. As always the food was excellent with a great choice. The wine is all reasonably priced and the staff were good with us being very loud after quite a few bottles had been consumed. We missed the charming Andrew doing his normal front-of-house duties as he was helping in the kitchen. Thank you as always for the doggy-bag of scraps off our plates for our 6 month old Bullmastiff puppy!

This little restaurant is situated a little off the beaten track and probably has to try harder to win its' customers. It is well worth a visit and we enjoyed a sophisticated meal. I understand that there is a set menu for the month with just 4 or 5 choices of starters and mains; this is a touch restrictive especially if you wanted to dine there on a regular basis. Very generous portions meant that neither of us could contemplate a dessert, not even to share, which is very unusual for me. Perhaps smaller portions and a smaller price would entice more customers ?

Good service but steak took 40 minutes to come out, was a little tough and restaurant was very quiet so no excuse for slow delivery. Only one salt pot for the whole restaurant which is very odd. Food is very well presented and the restaurant is clearly very popular but I won't be back.
