Bogota Latin Bistro Ratings and Reviews
The party and I arrived at Bogota to be seated immediately. Our server was extremely attentive, and informative of the foods, pricing, and assistance. Everyone loved the food, the only problem we had was there was a leak where we were seating. Other than that we were all fine with everything we received.
Came from out of town to see a show at the Barclay's and this was listed on OpenTable's site as being close to the center-indeed it is a short walk away. Had the garlic roasted chicken which was amazing! If you're a garlic fan then this is your dish! Though the breast was slightly overcooked, you really can't go wrong. Plenty of flavor! Had coconut rice and red cabbage salad which were outstanding as well. The chipotle sauce was so good and smoky that after the show I went back and bought two bottle to take back home with me.
Only issue I had was our table: we were seated in the back which used to be a patio but is now covered and walled-in. We were seated right next to the air vents and could hear the air rushing over the grates and the rattling due to looseness. There were also dead leaves, dust and dirt trapped on the other side of the Plexiglas. This definitely took away from the ambiance and didn't give an impression of cleanliness. Please address this.
Overall I would return but I'd ask for an inside table.
They didn't have my reservation when I went to check in. It was remedied and they sat my party, but even after showing them the OpenTable confirmation email they still couldn't find my reservation.
We were seated in the back of the restaurant. It was very noise and hard to converse because there was a big motor/generator in the atrium area between the two dining areas.
The food itself was very tasty and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is in the area and looking for a delicious meal.
The food here was excellent, and our server Rigoberto was very helpful and kind. I would recommend, though, that the restaurant manager speak with the hostesses. We had a 2pm reservation for my birthday and called to ask if it was okay that we were running 10 minutes late. The hostess on the phone said it was absolutely fine. We arrived at 2:10, and the hostesses at the door asked me to give them a few minutes to prepare the table. I checked back again at 2:30 to see what was taking so long, and one of the hostesses said that, and I quote, "Well, being that you were 10 minutes late, that made us get behind and so we needed more time." We weren't seated until 2:40.
The most upsetting part about this wasn't that one of the hostesses was rude to me on my birthday. It was that they clearly had not prepared for our reservation. If they had, we would have been able to sit down at 2:10 when we arrived, which we had already confirmed was okay by calling the restaurant beforehand. Additionally, some of my friends needed to leave by 3:30, so the half-hour delay we experienced forced them to rush a meal that could've been leisurely.
I sincerely hope that future guests do not have the same unfortunate experience. Bogota Latin Bistro is a great restaurant in many respects; it would be a shame for an unprepared, unfriendly hostess to continue giving such a bad impression to diners before they even have the chance to dine.
