We arrived 45 minutes before our reservation and were willing to sit and relax. However, five minutes after arrival, we were seated. We had a lovely waitress who greeted us and wished my husband a Happy Father's Day. It was such a pleasure dining at Bogota. This has been our fifth visit and we look forward to our next visit. The food, service and music are terrific!
We eat here all the time and love it. However, On June 15 I had reservation at 7 pm to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday. At 6:30pm- 30 minutes before the reservation time, I received a call to say they were renovating their kitchen and had no gas and no food. The other people in our party were already at the restaurant coming from another borough. I said this was unacceptable that I wasnt notified earlier so I could make alternative arrangements. They said sorry and offered no compensation. I spoke to a manager who also was totally not apologetic or compensating. Very disappointing, unaccomadating and unacceptable.
This restaurant was recomended to us and we came from Manhattan to eat there and were not disappointed that we made the effort. The place is lively with a fun atmosphere and the food was great. There were lots of choices and it felt authentic with wonderful spices in many of the dishes
The food here is always great. We were a party of 8 and some of the food came out cold. Our server was amazing
I love Bogota Latin Bistro! The staff is always friendly and service is great. The empanadas, bunuelos and pan de bono are fabulous! My companions couldn't stop raving.
That being said, I was unfortunate enough to try the guacamole. It was the worst I've ever had. Tasteless doesn't even begin to describe this insult to an avocado. Avoid at all costs. The coffee was pretty mediocre too.
Bottom Line: Definitely worth visiting as long as you get ANYTHING but the Colombian Coffee and Guacamole.
Always a pleasure coming here. Love the atmosphere.
Bogota is consistently excellent! I have food sensitivities and I never get sick from eating here. Great service and outstanding food. Definitely need reservations!
When I arrived the host could not find my reservation. Waited for a table for some time.
We had a good time celebrating my father's bday. Our waiter was wonderful, however it was hot. No air.
My friends like to come here for the gluten-free empanadas. Bogota also has great vegetarian options — both dietary restrictions are clearly marked on the menu. And the food itself is both good and reasonably priced (though the cocktails are about a buck more expensive than I like). It is always loud, but that feeds into the energy of the place. It's a great place to go during Pride Month — or any month!
Went here for a friends birthday. Service was good and we all really enjoyed the food. Drinks were strong (big points). Would go again, but only with a group.
The food and the service was great .Our server Eric was was amazing as always. Very friendly and his recommendations are always on point.
The only downfall that it was very hot as if the air conditioning is not very strong. But all in all the experience is always great over there. Very friendly people, and the food is amazing.
What I like the most is that they cater to vegetarians and vegans..
Have been coming to bogota for years. This was the first time I came with a large group. Food was great as expected. They finally added a vegan bandeja paisa that was veggie based which was great.
Now the negatives -
I had asked our waiter to split the bill so parties did not have to worry about this when it came time to pay. I was told no because we had a large party. So I asked if the fact that we had ordered our drinks before the request was made was the reason he couldn't split it. I assumed I would help allocate the drinks as needed between bills. I was told again no that it was because we had a large party and they "don't do that". Fine.
I requested a change to my meal and I was told they "couldn't do that". Which I found odd since in the past they had no issues with making changes. I wasn't given a real explanation just some mumbling as to why it couldn't be done. Again, fine because the food is usually great.
Looking back on the experience now, it's seems the inclusion of the gratuity made the waiter determined to keep it to bare minimum in trying to accommodate our party. I usually leave with a great feeling but this time it all just felt like a transaction.
I don't recommend for a large party.
Came here to catch up with family, we had a really nice time and the food was fantastic! Lots of vegan/vegetarian options as well which is great.
Delicious empanadas and fantastic cocktails, but the best part was the fantastic service, quick and extremely pleasant. 10/10 would visit again!
We went here on a double date and the food was so good!! It’s a pretty loud place so sometimes it was hard to hear others, but I’m such a huge fan of this place. Try the passion fruit margarita, it was AMAZING
Went on a Friday and did last minute reservations...like on the way to the venue. I was running late (about 10 mins) but my friend was able to be seated w/o me (didn't need the full party to be present) and she got started on her 'happy hour' drinks. The waiter inquired about food allergies and made sure all ingredients for our food choices was agreeable to us (before we could even say anything). He recommended and described dishes which may it easier for us to choose. Checked on us frequently but not overbearingly and made sure to tell us it was last call for Happy Hour. Really enjoyed my experience with him. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lively. Would definitely return.
Had a delicious lunch with my siblings. The food was yummy and our server was so nice!!
This place has been a favorite of mine in the past. We used to go here a couple times a month. This past weekend, my partner and I brought a friend here on her last day visiting the city because we thought it would be a great way to end her trip. We were 3 minutes late for an 8pm reservation. We were not seated until nearly 8:30 on account of some large table needing to be cleared, which is fair on a busy night. I've worked in customer service roles before and understand that things happen sometimes. Thirty minutes past a reservation seems a little ridiculous, though. Then, after we were seated, our waitress walked past so many times without acknowledging us before finally taking our order. We didnt get to eat until 8:51 (almost an hour past our reservation), at which time our server messed up our order not once, but twice. This is not the level of service I have received at Bogota in the past, I can't say I'll be back. With a bill totalling nearly $100, service should really be a lot better. I'm glad business is going so well, but our experience was such a disappointment.
Delicious food and fantastic cocktails! Family friendly.
Excellent food, quick service and an energetic atmosphere. My wife had the chicken with black beans and I had the fish tacos with red beans and pork. Both were absolutely delicious. This was our first visit to Bogota Latin Bistro and we will definitely be back.
Drinks are potent; service is excellent; ambiance was enthusiastic and lively; food is very good.
I've been here before and on this date in particular the service could have been better. The waiter could have been more attentive. We got there early so it was quiet and not a lot of people. He only had two tables at the time from what I could see and we were one of the two. I was served yellow rice instead of white rice. I asked for it to be replaced and I ended up doing it myself. They brought over the white rice but then I had to shovel the yellow rice off of my plate and put the white rice on myself. What should have been done is, and this is the way most restaurants do it, was for the waiter to take my entire plate to the kitchen and change the rice; not have me do it.
I arrived 10 minutes early to my reservation and was told could wait at the bar with my friends. Than our reservation time came and went and weren’t seated till I complained to host about her sitting down other parties of the same size before us who did not have a res.
Service was slow and the waiter seemed inexperienced. When we he approached us for our order we started to speak and then he walked away. 15 minutes later he came back to take our orders and again walked away while we were midsentence. We called after him and then he told us “wow that’s a lot of food”... not sure what that meant. Food came, over cooked. Not coming back any here any more.
1.Too Expensive ... Frozen margarita not even a tall glass $12.00 ..
2. Waited a while for the waitress to come take our order /even to start for drinks and appetizers.
3. The back area where we were sitting at needed fixing and those chairs uncomfortable.. (Did not feel like a resteraunt atmosphere)
4. Food came out quick and it was pretty good and the coconut shrimp as well.
5. Overall out of a 10 being the best a 5 .. Could be better and had better but too pricey ..
Service was super friendly and attentive, but food took ages to come out. Drinks were strong and delicious. Fun and lovely atmosphere, we'll definitely be back!
The only advice I could give is. Pay more attention to the costumers!!!!!! Other than that everything was amazing!!!!
My wife is Colombian and likes to come here because of the authentic Colombian food. However, they have changed the menu and not necessarily for the good. The menu has been cut down and some of the deleted items were our favorites. My son loved the Latin corn on the cob and it is now gone. One of my wife's Colombian favorites is now gone as well. The service is only mediocre and the prices are high. With the old menu we could live with the not so good stuff. Now that the menu has changed I believe we will dine here less frequently.
Bogota has great food. Pricing on mother’s day was a bit much, but great food
Food was delish however took a really long time, we were out for Mothers Day and moms had to wait over 30 minutes...overall if food was a bit faster would give it 5 stars ;)
Great food and service, reservation was ideal, no wait whatsoever!
Love this place. Food is so good and nice environment. Waiters are always pleasant.
It was a good experience except that it was raining and the water kept dripping on our table. This was really annoying. Maybe they should close off those tables when it's raining. Even if it was mother's day and the place was crowded. The waitress was great though.
This was an absolute pleasure of a dining experience. Wonderful atmosphere. Food was out of this world delicious.
Nice, casual atmosphere. Service a bit distracted and slow. Food’s okay — could have been more flavorful. Shredded chicken was dry. Drinks are good overall.
Eating here was a terrible experience. We had a reservation but still waited for 25 minutes. The occasion was a birthday lunch for my SO. I told them about it when I made the reservation, as well as when I was at the restaurant. They still didn't do anything special for it. Very disappointing; stay away!
Bogota used to be awesome. However, they recently removed half their empanada selection and their yuca fries from the menu. Those were my favorite things!!! The shrimp empanadas--seriously? Also the salad dressing tasted like slime. Did they get a new chef or something?
Our waiter was great, super attentive, but the food took a million years to come out. I used to recommend this place and unfortunately now I do not.
The restaurant itself (food, service, ambiance) was great for our small Cinco de Mayo friend get together. It's very loud inside and I'd say there's a party-like atmosphere if you're there after 9pm like we were. Pitchers of drinks were yummy and the food was delish. However, there was an issue with the time of our reservation and the changes were not confirmed with me before my arrival. I've messaged the restaurant separately to address this issue. We didn't let their mistake get in the way of our good time! Confirm your reservation via phone before hand.
Great food, amazing drinks, fun festive atmosphere 👍🏻
