Fun to go to a "secret" restaurant! This tiny back room is a great concept. Not much int he wya of ambiance or decor...would benefit from a big chandeleir in the center. The food was good. Super charcuterie board, steak was cooked to perfection and def better than Abe & Louise or Capital. The service needs some work. Our waiter was lovely and entertaining but timing was terrible. Each course was rushed, plates literally being removed as forks were going into mouths with another bite with no time between course. We hit it on a bad night. Refrigerators had broken so the champagne we wanted was not available and the much highlighted dessert that we looked forward to was also not available. Wine list should be improved to match what they are trying to do here, no great choices. I'd certainly go back though, it was fun with good food.
It was a great surprise for us and we will definitely come back.
The food was delicious as I had read on a review which prompted me to try it. The entrance through a burger bar was quite odd and the eclectic ambiance was a bit creepy. This alone would prevent me from recommending the restaurant to others or returning soon as there are so many options in Boston. The server was fantastic.
This restaurant is over priced in terms of both food, service and location.
On arrival we were offered seats at the bar in the passageway despite booking. No apologies for this. No offer of a free drink.
Food was lukewarm, if not cold. Not fine dining by any means. Wine very average and way overpriced.
Service was ordinary at best. Too much talking by the waiter.
we had a wonderful time at bogeys ..everyone should have such an experience..the food was excellent.. we had the tomahawk ribeye, mashed potatoes, mushrooms and Caesar salad
everything was great and so were the stories told by Kamile, he was telling us about the history of the room, the era of the speakeasy, even the music it was great
Very cool place - love the no cell phone use - really allows you to stay in the moment.
This was a lovely experience. The ambience was lovely and it was quite intimate since it was a 20-seat speakeasy. The background music was louder than it needed to be. The food was good but when we ordered our steaks, both were just medium rare rather than what my partner actually wanted. The chips were also a little soggy when we got it.
Wonderful dinner with great service and awesome music.
Great service and food but room temperature was hot and sweating.
Absolutely amazing. We ordered the ny strip and the filet mignon both were cooked to perfection. We also got the easy Mac and sweet potato fries both were also excellent. Absolutely will be back, love the semi private/speakeasy atmosphere at Bogie’s. Our server Kamil was also stellar.
Our party of 4 all raved about the food, even 2 days later! I have food allergies and was able to make note of that on the Open Table reservation. Bogie's Place had popcorn with olive oil prepared instead of rolls wedge rosemary truffle pomme frites, grilled asparagus, fried brussel sprouts, mac and for dinner the Tomahawk, rack of lamb, filet, and a salmon special. Lots of fantastic food!
This was such a great find! My wife and I came here for a celebration and were not disappointed. The food was wonderful, I had steak and my wife ordered the lamb. I was happy with my steak and then I tried the lamb- it was excellent... I'll be getting that next time. The attentive service and very quant setting really made the experience for us.
Took my girlfriend for her birthday. The ambiance was amazing. Dark lighting, only 4 tables, real speakeasy vibe. The cocktails were impressively creative and the food was incredible. They don’t allow cell phones, which is nice for staying in the moment but unfortunate for trying to capture the moment in a photo. Would’ve appreciated just a quick pic in the perfect lighting.
Absolutely a must do for the steak lover, have recommended countless times
Ideal for couples looking for a nice quiet date spot off the beaten track! Service was friendly and prompt, food was delicious. The bread and butter pudding dessert was heavenly! The playlist was modern pop songs re-imagined as 50’s era songs which gave a really cool atmosphere!
A very memorable and enjoyable meal! Great service, wonderful cuisine and fantastic cocktails. Everything we ate and drank was a slam dunk. Great vibe! We will definitely be back!
We succumbed to the hype and booked a table when a friend was visiting. On paper the concept sounds great but in reality it is just okay. The most frustrating part is that you can hear the noise and music that is pumping in Curley's. It clashes with the music and speakeasy vibe that Bogie's is going for. They need more than a curtain to separate the two spaces. Though the steaks are well seasoned they are cut rather thin. Also the wine list for a steak based menu is anemic at best. If you want steak there are far better options in Boston that have a more intimate vibe for the price.
We moved the reservation ahead one day and inadvertently moved it a whole week when we arrived they did not have a reservation however they accommodated us perfectly everything went well. the night was great, food was wonderful service excellent would highly recommend Bogie’s Place.
Fun unique experience that I would definitely go back to!
We were back to visit Boston and decided to celebrate at Bogie’s Place where we celebrated our engagement a few years ago! Our server was so welcoming and made it a special night all over again. We’ll definitely return anytime we’re in town!
Great food with even better ambiance. Highly recommend!
This place was amazing. The Ambience was fantastic and the food/drinks were on point. 10/10.
Amazing experience - felt exclusive and special and the food was delicious.
Simply amazing. Waiter was top notch.
The food was amazing and our server Manny was outstanding. We got the NY Strip and the lemon thyme Chicken. We cant wait to come back again
Bogie’s offers a quiet, very intimate dining experience with the feel of a speakeasy. It’s very cool! The food was excellent and Manny’s service was always right on time! If you are looking for an intimate dinner, Bogie’s is your place.
Loved Bogies Place and can’t wait to go back! Our host Manny was very accommodating. It’s a very small place, seating about 12 or so and we met really nice people there. Can’t help but talk to your neighbors and share information about how delicious the dishes and drinks we all were enjoying. We even left with some new friends :). French onion soup was to die for, Cesar salad was fresh, truffle fries were amazing and the filet was tender. Appreciated the no cell phone policy, maintained the intimate atmosphere. Perfect for a date night, celebration or weekend dinner. Don’t forget to make your reservation in advance!
By far one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! Looking forward to going back.
Thank you for making this such a memorable dinner! Music and Food, FANTASTIC. DEF
Enjoyed the atmosphere of being in a “hidden” back room and the personal service you get with seating only available for a few customers. Looking forward to my next visit.
Fantastic. Hate to recommend only because I want to get a table. Manny could not have been a better host.
Cool spot - interesting experience. Very attentive waitstaff, great food, tableside cocktails were great. It's a nice break from the loud ostentatious Boston spots. Very intimate and cozy, it was perfect for my dinner. My client said his steak was much better than the usual spots, much more flavor. I would go back.
Manny took tremendous care of us. Can’t recommend this place enough.
Celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. Sounded like a cool and fun place. JMCurly bar was sketchy at best! Once inside Bogies learned they were out of several items including signature cocktails which we were lead to believe were made tableside. Also out of their signature tomahawk steak, porterhouse steak, plus 2 sides and also out of dessert!! We each ordered filet mignon which were excellent plus twice baked potatoe and roasted brussel sprouts which were undercooked and 1 bottle of red wine. Cost was close to $300. Would never go back. Dont mind spending the money when food and service and quality are top notch. This was most definately the worst anniversary dinner we've ever experienced!
Small, intimate wit one server for the few tables in the room. Ordering the “Pour Yorick” drink was a show. Steak was perfect and delicious and staff was amazing.
While the steak is average, the atmosphere and service are nice. 12 seat "secret" restaurant behind the venerable Jim Curly bar. Bargain Oysters at $2.
Bogie's place is a very nice establishment if you're looking for a quiet, but exciting ambiance. The drinks, food and service were excellent and I would highly recommend Bogie's to anybody.
My wife and I had an amazing experience celebrating our anniversary at Bogies. Our food was delicious and my wife said her steak was the best shes ever had. We will definitely be back.
Ok. All I have to say is tableside cocktails. And they were bonkers good. Manny was unbelievably knowledgeable and super fun. Our tomahawk steaks were cooked perfectly. Very quiet and very small so make your reservations!
Cool place. Great food. Great hospitality by Domingo.
It was a shame that we didn't get to try the dry aged tomahawk steak (being the only reason why we went there) but we stayed anyways cause we already had the reservation and it was a special occasion. We got the Rack of lamb, the Filet Mignon, we added a lobster tail and grilled mushrooms, everything was really nice. We'll be going back in the future to try that dry age steak though.
