Bodega Spanish Tapas & Lounge
My girlfriends and I went Saturday night for dinner. Great experience, wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, and most attentive server ever, Walter. Highly recommend!!!
Prices vary and it's all worth it! Loved every bite! They also had a great guitarist and flamenco dancer. Can't wait to go back! This was my first tapas restaurant and I so enjoyed it. Made for a memorable girls day out lunch
Lamb chops were initially overcooked. We told the waiter and he immediately put in a new order for us, which came out perfectly cooked!
The culinary adventure continues in Georgetown. We're at Bodega a Spanish Tapas Restaurant. We ordered an assortment of hot tapas. The lamb chops, nicely done with the right amount of seasoning. Gambia's al ajillo, good heat with the peri peri peppers, yummy. Dates wrapped in bacon, scrumptious, the grilled octopus just so so. Pear salad light and refreshing with a honey vinaigrette and goat compliments and completes this dish. My husband is not a fan of duck, but found the Duck confit excellent. All the tapas are prepared nicely. Our service was great and the food came out nice and hot. Our server, Daniel was also great with his recommendations and was very attentive. I gave it a 5 for overall, however, the noise level was high and really tight seating. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Georgetown. Food experience was wonderful.
It was a great experience for our party of 5 . The food , the music in the background, the excellent service and ambiance made our evening Fantastic. We are definitely going again , soon .
Might be my new favorite tapas place. Great food at reasonable prices with equally great service.
This restaurant is wonderful. The food is delicious, the service is excellent and the drinks are terrific. You cannot go wrong when choosing Bodega for dinner when in DC.
Cold at the bar as there was no curtain blocking the wind when the door opened. Great food!
Very flavourful food with a menu featuring the biggest highlights of Spanish tapas and more. Very nice cocktails. Outstanding service. Very pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!
I love this place. There’s good food, good drinks, and good dancing (live flamenco on the weekends).
Magnificent ambiance, great service, right on M street....and the food delicious! Highly recommend!
The all you can eat brunch was a great value. The eggs maryland were outstanding. The only issue was that some plates were a little too big for the restricted space on the table. Aside from that it was a great meal.
Absolutely fabulous! We had a group of 4 people and we ordered 9 dishes and every one of them was incredible. The service was excellent and we will definitely return!
Delicious tapas, loved the tortilla espaniol, spinach, and the shrimp. Bacon wrapped dates were thoroughly deep friend and i wouldn’t recommend those.
Food was decent with some tapas better than others. My favorite were the lamb chops, patata brava and the shrimp in garlic oil. The red sangria was ok. Service was excellent.
Unfortunately, this place has turned into a tourist trap. I have eaten here in the past, the food was good, the service in the past didn't try to rush you and then snap their fingers to pass a plate to them to be cleared off the table- as was the case this last experience, or just they just didn't clear the plates- it's tapas really? The food was marginal at best. Very disappointing.
Let me start by saying we had a 6pm Sunday evening reservation. The restaurant was not busy. Service was poor and very slow. Waited forever just to make a drink order. Multiple food items were incorrect. Food was good, and was hot, but unfortunately we wanted what we ordered and didn't receive it. Would not go back.
Great food! Well priced and wonderful ambience, definitely will dine here again!
We had a nice, quiet window booth, which, besides the friendly and fun server, was the best part of the evening. The food, frankly, was mediocre. We ordered five tapas, but can recommend only one, the ahi tuna with caramelized onions. This lively, well-located place is always crowded, but we doubt that it is because of the food.
Excellent. Best spanish restaurant I have been to in Washington, D.C.! Authentic and the ambiance makes you feel like you’re in Spain.
Our favorite tapas place in DC. The food is fantastic, the service is friendly, and if you do the Saturday or Sunday all-you-can-eat brunch, the price is ridiculously cheap. We come here nearly every time we're in DC, and already I can't wait to come back!
The food was fantastic and the service impeccable. The server made suggestions per our request, and we went with his suggestions. They were all right on target.
Dear Bodega Managment
The night of 10/14/19 i made a reservation for 3 people at 7:30 under my name Anita Gjikolli through open table. Upon arriving at the location we were seated at the back dinning room with noone else but us in the whole room, giving us the impression that making a reservation at your restaurant doesnt mean anything. We were a little disappointed but we didnt make a deal about it since we were there about the food more than the ambiance but thats the first red flag, after that we were not greated for at least 10 minutes and i have to say it was another red flag but we were still to excited to try your restaurant. Upon having a server whose name was Daniel and he was obliviously drunk and not able to provide no type of service we told him we want to do the ultimate spanish experience and his first answer was; you know the whole table gotta do it right??! Iam personally a bartender and my husband is a bartender and my other friend is a manager of a restaurant and ive never felt disrespected that way. Past that he said we can have one tapa for person each and we can only put order for another one after we are all done eating whats in the table( meaning we are having two bites of food every 15 minutes). Then i asked for the price of the seafood pella and he said : what u mean the price it there and I answered market price is not a number and he is like ohh its 65. Anyways we are getting most of the stuff we are ordering, emphasis on MOST not all and then he forgot i ordered a second glass of wine and charged me for a third because he forgot I ordered twice but never got my second glass. I have to say the food quality was very good and kinda saved the night but all of us felt like we were very unwelcomed there and we took our celebration somewhere else in the ene because obviously Daniel was not up for giving a decent service. We only tipped him because we work in the industry. Needless to say we were disappointed and i dont think we will come back.
The food is okay, and the flamingo dance is nice but loud. I think the food is a bit overpriced compared to the quality. Welcome to have a try if you are roaming around Georgetown.
We sat on the patio and enjoyed happy hour prices and food until 7:00, and also ordered from the regular menu after 7:00. Our server was attentive and helpful, and the food was great
The waiter wasn’t able when we need some service or advice
Great deals. The Ultimate Spanish Experience is totally worth the price! The food is delicious and glad we found the place. Definitely will return!
Great food and fast service.
Birthday celebration was perfect
The front of the house was accommodating and did help celebrate my husband’s birthday. We are local but first time dining here. I was expecting a bit more. Wait staff was just so so. Our waiter appeared annoyed and hurried. Never brought us dessert menus and we had to ask again to a different waiter. They brought my husband his birthday dessert before we could even order ours! The meal was ok but paella was disappointing. Don’t think we will return. Very casual dining and not a special occasion place.
It was AWESOME
Thoroughly enjoy the food, guitarist and flamenco dancer.
Not a place for quiet conversation, but very lively and satisfying overall. The food was pretty good, although not as good as it has been on previous visits. Service is brisk, yet friendly.
I only went for happy hour, so my review is a little skewed. The happy hour prices are right, especially for the drinks. The cocktails are delicious! And $5 per food item on a HH menu is about average, but their portion sizes were quite small. I paid $5 for five tiny shrimp; that's $1 per shrimp! I also ordered the bacon-wrapped dates (would prefer them if they weren't fried) and the chicken croquettes (the chicken is pureed, so that was gross), and those came in sets of 4, so that's more than $1 per piece. The calamari was the only food item I ordered that was actually worth $5 to me.
I tried the $38 unlimited dinner, which I think was well worth the money. Waiter was very nice and knew the menu well. Food was pretty good. The only downside was that the restaurant was basically empty and the food took a while to come out.
El camarero nos hizo pedir cientos de tapas y nos sobraron más de la mitad y claro el clavadón de la cuenta fue terrible 😤😱
Great atmosphere. Friendly staff, fast service and delicious food!
Very pleasant first-time experience! Tons of small plates to try. Go for the garlic shrimp and steak. Nice little patio for dining al fresco. Small but good wine selection.
The food is always as expected ... delicious! Excellent wait staff and ambiance. Always a wonderful time!
