Boccone South Ratings and Reviews
This is our go to Italian restaurant. Food and service are always exceptional. Nicole are server tonight took great care of us anticipated all our needs. The specials were fantastic, the cowboy rib eye was great as well as the stuffed yellow pepper. Bravo!!! Always a great meal.
Went to Boccone South on Thursday before a SOPAC show. We shared a Caesar salad and eggplant special for appetizers. They were tasty. I enjoyed a pasta special, which had generous portions. Silvio is a gracious and attentive host who gave us a terrific bread pudding for our dessert. A great spot for good food and warm service.
Boccone South always promises a first-rate dining experience. Sylvio and his staff go out of their way to ensure that all of their patrons have a wonderful dining experience. It's by far my favorite place to dine, and I highly recommend it whenever I'm asked for a restaurant recommendation!
The kitchen messed up our order and prepared the wrong type of fish for 2 of us that we hadn’t ordered. They corrected it but it took a long time for our entrees to arrive as a result, and we had to rush through our entree and forego desserts and coffee to make it to a show at SOPAC on time. When the fish arrived at the table it was over cooked and the risotto it was sitting over was gummy rather than creamy. Very disappointing. Our waitress was very nice, it wasn’t her fault. She seemed overworked with too many tables. The host seemed ready to blame her but it wasn’t her fault. We will not be back. Don’t understand the rave reviews of this place.
Whether for date night, a special occasion, or just a weeknight out, this is the perfect local spot. The food is authentic, and there is something for everyone. If you prefer, pasta, meat, chicken, or fish, you will find something delicious!
Silvio, the owner, and the entire staff will make you feel like family. You can't help but notice there a lots of "regulars"...it's that good!
Boccone's is our go to Italian restaurant. Our friends from south Jersey came up for dinner on Friday and only wanted to go to Boccone's. The service and attention to details is great, not a missed beat. The special of the day are fantastic as is the regular menu. The pepper crushed tuna special was great. The tuna was sushi quality and was prepared very rare, perfect. Out of 5 people, 3 had the tuna. Our server Nicole not only took care of all requests, but anticipated our needs. BROVO
Yet again I was blown away by the service given by Silvio and his team. It was date night, and I wanted to surprise my girl with the nicest restaurant in South Orange. I was not expecting the insane amount of attention we were given. The food came out timely and fresh. The arincini was absolutely delicious, and I had to fight my partner's fork over the last one! The borata was great as always, but it was our first time with the carbonara and vinaro. It was so good that it didn't even looked like there was any on my plate after I ate! The bread pudding and gelato was absolutely amazing, and now it looks like date night is going to be at Boccone again! Thanks to Nicole, the maître d', who the wonderful hospitality, Fernando and the wonder table service, and Silvio for his restaurant and beautiful food!
My wife and I have been to Boccone South no less than 50 times. We have had no less than 50 wonderful epicurean experiences. Silvio, the owner, along with Michael, the head waiter have such a warmth to their approach that it truly feels like we are members of the family. We are so fortunate to have a gem of a restaurant within walking distance from our home. We consider ourselves foodies. I am actually in the high end catering business, so I have a true understanding of what quality food is all about. I do not believe we have ever ordered off the menu. The specials are always spot on. Items like potato wrapped barramundi over seafood risotto or veal osso bucco over potato and cauliflower puree are just two of the many dishes that just make your mouth water as you order let alone placed in front of you. The Italian bread pudding with any flavor of gelato or the berries sabayon is about the best I have ever had anywhere. If you are interested in a fantastic restaurant experience for any type of occasion whether its a celebratory event or just a date night, I suggest marking your calendars as soon as possible. You will not be sorry. Way to go Silvio and your team of professionals.
My favorite go to restaurant . Always outstanding welcome and food. Silvio ,the owner, takes a very personal interest and greets everyone as a welcome guest. We no longer need the menu.we just ask Silvio and he finds the right food for us. It's like having a personal chef ,at home.
