Not impressed of the food
We have been to Bocconcino a number of times and have usually had a great experience, food-wise, atmosphere-wise and service-wise. We usually have a table upstairs but this time we were in the basement area.
No complaints about the food (very good) and the atmosphere (pleasant) but I have to say the service was as disinterested and indifferent as could be; I actually regretted leaving an additional gratuity in addition to the 13.5% automatic service charge already added to the bill :-(
Hopefully this was just one of those “off” nights and we will try again perhaps after the Christmas holidays.
When making the reservation we were not advised that they apply table time 1h45min. when making remark about it they refered to common knowledge??
Staff not organised several times we were asked the same question within 1 minute. further not very polite
I could eat there everyday the food was sooooo good!
Terrible pasta. smelly truffles
I absolute recommend Bocconcino, it was a lovely dinner with an extremely warm and impeccable service. Thank you very much for this experience with you, I will certainly come back to your restaurant
Spent thanksgiving week in London with the family and found this place close by the hotel. Amazing. Small and intimate, the pizza was the best we’ve had, the wild boar fettuccine, the wine recommendation was spot on, and the service was perfect. Even the starters; burrata, focaccia, and artichokes, were amazing. Highly recommend!
It’s a perfect spot for dates, family dinners and catching up with friends. The prices are not cheap, but the quality and quantity of food are outstanding!
The staff are super friendly
Delicious food ! Perfect for client lunches and parties.
ik vond het erg lekker. wijn werd wel snel geschonken
Food was basic, service was meh. Overpriced for the service you're getting
Was a great meal and service
I visited Bocconcino on Thursday evening and loved the music and the luxurious design. I tried the tagliatelle with white truffle and the Cannolo Siciliano... Both were very delicious !
Good for a date
OMG! Where do I start with this place! It’s so gorgeous and modern, and the food OMG! Out of this world. The staff are so welcoming, offered to take my coat as I walked in. Want fine dinning? This is your place.
Lovely restaurant and great food and ambience in a fab location.
Good ambiance and food, low chairs
We were shopping locally and we all fancied Italian. We were seated upstairs in the quieter area - it was last minute so couldn’t grumble, though downstairs was far buzzier.
Limited beer menu - has Peroni as option but ran out of the chosen beer for my husband, so he had to revert to a pint. Thought this a little odd - no Moretti or other Italian beer?
Had burratta to start, daughter had mozzarella - both dishes were the same, different cheese. Husband had oysters and minestrone, both were delicious. Soup was plentiful.
As mains, daughter had pizza - very basic and nothing stood out about it - husband had spaghetti with clams, which was very nicely seasoned but did not taste of the sea, nor any chilli which was an ingredient and also extra requested. I had crab with homemade pasta. I love crab linguine but this was sooooo fishy tasting, even my husband didn’t like it and he loves fish/shellfish. Again, despite it being an ingredient, and extra requested, no chilli.
Had simple affogato for dessert, can’t remember what daughter had, but she enjoyed in.
In all, a very stylish restaurant, very friendly staff, but the food was lacklustre. Would go again if I could sit downstairs and only order off set menu as the cost for lunch did not justify the experience (or the other way round).
An incredible meal with great service.
Lovely food we did the set Menu and fabulous service - thank you
Great service, amazing food and a beautiful restaurant overall. I will definitely be making a return.
Booked this restaurant as my daughter is a big fan of Italian food. Very disappointed.
Food is below average. Raw fish is not fresh. Dessert is like bought from supermarket. Wine is over priced and we were given the wrong wine. Service is below average. Overall a bad experience.
As always this place just is consistently good! Amazing food and wine
Lunch was pleasant but nothing special for the price. Wine was ridiculously overpriced. Room was very noisy. Coffee cup was only half full. 13.5 % service charge added made half a cup of Americano £5. There was a pillar between guests at the table. Overall we were very disappointed and we will not return.
Service is so annoying
The restaurant has great ambiance and the food was tasty. However, even taking into account the prime time Mayfair location and price premium you expect, I still felt a little stung paying over £50 for 2 courses off the set menu and a normal glass of red. The starter was prawn and courgette tempura and a vegetarian pizza, which I have no compliants about but hardly elaborate or could be classified as expensive cuts. Therefore on value I have scored the restaurant down.
A very modern restaurant with modern decoration, food and ideas. The staff are all very polite and friendly. The food tastes great and the portion size is very good. The set menu is best value. The restaurant is a little pricey but you got to expect that being in Mayfair. The restaurant plays up tempo music, doesnt fit with the ambience and setting in my opinion. Its loud enough to hear but wont drown out the conversation. Biggest negative is that the courses come out literally one after the other and you feel rushed out the door. All in all though a very nice meal and would go back
Hugely expensive wine list. One of our orders was taken wrong but rather than take all the food back they left one person eating alone and the vegetables on the table to be cold when the correct food finally came out. Shame as a lovely restaurant - does explain why it was so empty though!
Amazing wild Boar ragu tagaliattelle i highly recommend
amazing Focaccia rosemary bread and sicilian Wine!
great atmosphere for saturday night out !
Terrible service. Had to ask for bread and they just wanted to get us out of there. Food was not good. Waste of money.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is very refined and you can tell the food is prepared very meticulously with very fresh ingredients. Felt a little pricey all things considered but still enjoyed the dining experience. Staff were lovely and considerate throughout.
One of the worst dinners I had recently! We had the autumn festival menu and it was by far the worst menu I tried during this season, ridiculously overpriced for what it was: boiled beetroot with a sprinkle of goats cheese (no special seasoning) plus a tiny piece of badly cooked fish.
On top, they charged 7£ for bread. Will never go there again.
Perfect meal with a colleague. We tried the Rosemary Focaccia, and Burrata for starters. And had grilled shrimp and Dover Sole for mains. Everything was amazing.
Set out well, we expected a lot from previous reviews, the reality was quite different. The food is at best very average, but very expensive. The wine list is good but you will pay £20 for a small average wine. We wanted a nice easy Italian so had 2 pizza and a Tuna steak. Pizza were very average and under cooked, Tuna steak, cold and not cooked how it was requested. Best part of the meal, a chocolate fondant, actually worth the 15 min wait. So to sum up 2x poor pizza, 1x cold Tuna steak, a chocolate fondant, 2x coffee , 2 x small glasses of wine and a bottle of water= £200.. poor experience, won't be going back, good looking place let down by its food.MUST TRY HARDER.
Fabulous food service and ambiance. Glad to have found this place while traveling in London. From the light as air focaccia to the wonderful dessert sampler and everything in between a wonderful meal. They happily accommodated my vegan dining companion can’t wait to go back
Just average. Nothing to rave about
It used to be affordable but now it's quite pricy, dinner for two with a glass each for 170£ is not great
First time I tried this impecable restaurant. Tried the Burrata, Mixed Salad and Rosemary Focaccia for starters. And had the Seafood Risotto. All great.
This is the most expensive meal I have ever eaten in an Italian restaurant. £60 for a bowl of tagliatelle, it was a special but they never told us the price. All other pasta dishes on the menu were about £20. Have eaten there many times but will never go again and will advise anyone I know never to go there. Absolute ripoff.
