A great experience! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by all the staff. It was a friendly and cozy restaurant and the food was amazing. We got the chicken piccata, lasagna, and fettuccine alfredo. Can't wait to go back!
This was the best find!!! We just took a stab at trying the place, score!!! The food, service and everything was great. I do recommend making a reservation because of the limited number of tables. We are definitely going to go back!!! Even the price is good!!
Delish food, old Portland atmosphere, friendly staff. Our server seemed to be running behind, worst things have certainly happened in restaurants. Brought wrong desert... I didn't even correct it as I had a difficult time choosing in the first place. Would visit again & recommend to others.
Meal was delicious . Everything was prepared with care.
We had a lovely time! The food was good and the staff was friendly.
I left my phone and the owner made a special trip to return it to me - above and beyond kind!
Excellent menu and staff were welcoming and attentive.
This was our third visit and consistently wonderful food & service!
You're mushroom ravioli with creamy pesto was delicious!!
First visit in about 3 years. Had a Calzone. Crust was very thin and tasted more like a pastry crust than a normal calzone. Service was good price was good.
The service was friendly, the food was wonderful, and the dining room was lovely.
Not a fancy or exciting place, but great food at a reasonable price.
We made a reservation for 7 and they sat us at two separate tables. It would have been nice to know this at the time we made the reservation.
Have eaten several times at Bocci because it has remarkable ambient, very similar to well established institutions in towns and cities of northern Italy, where the food is of number one importance followed closely by service.
Our last visit was to celebrate friends 25th wedding anniversary. The friends were very happy, as were we. Again, Bocci hits home. Such a wonderful resaurant.
On line reservations worked really easily too.
Excellent as usual.
There were many lows and a few highs to our recent visit. The wine list was good, and we chose very well. The menu selections were suitably varied, and the service was friendly and prompt. Only one of our party of six found his particular order very well prepared (though cold).
On the other hand... Some of our food arrived cold. Most our party found the food under seasoned and unimaginative. The one fish item we ordered was overcooked and dry.
The restaurant was so cold that many of the patrons wore coats throughout their meal. We have been here a few times, and the level of mediocrity has not changed, so we won't be back.
This is average Italian food. It's not bad, just not that great either. I'd say it's on par with a place like Olive Garden. The prices reflect this I think, but it doesn't really compete with many of the better options in Portland.
We love, "Hole in the wall," type places as they tend to have great food. Not so much here. When you think about good Italian food, one conjures rustic and bold flavors...not so much here. Food was bland as hell and almost smacked of being frozen before being cooked...kind of rubbery. The not so traditional, early 80s Madonna, 70s Beatles tunes, and the like did not lend well to an atmosphere and ambiance of Italian cuisine. But in this case, the music did match the food...won't be back.
A really nice evening at a wonderful Portland restaurant on the east side of the river. Excellent Italian food with a quaint ombiance. We’ve been there half a dozen times and they never disappoint. If you eat here you won’t be disappointed.
Great food, love music they play, server was a cool dude
I was dining alone and the wait staff used my name frequently and it made me feel right at home. They were knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. The pasta was amazing!
Great Italian restaurant. Very quaint and the service and food were excellent.
This place was quaint with so much personality - because of this, my expectations of the food were high. The food, however, was a disappointment - the freshly baked bread had no flavor - the sauces were lacking in flavor as well.
Good classical Italian food!
I’ll be back.
I must say I'm not sure That we got their best shot when we went there.
First of all the main guy was very accommodating and friendly when we asked to bump up our reservation. I wish he had been our waiter as it may have gone better.
The restaurant is very cozy and small and the menu pretty decent and priced affordably.
The problem was that we got a waitress who immediately informed us that she only worked there once every 7 years or so ? She could not answer a single question about the menu and she botched up one of our orders despite going to get something to write on when we ordered . Three of the people in our group were satisfied with their meal , but my wife and I both ordered crab raviolis and couldn't detect any crab.
Come to think of it the waitress may have butchered our order too.
One person ordered old school lasagne and she brought out chicken?
As much as we'd like to return I'm not sure we would without some incentive.
very nice Fixed Price menu Friday/Saturday -- a lot of delicious food for the price. The only thing that was surprisingly not up to par was the wine list. Perhaps the proprietors don't drink... very boring and narrow in range of selections, all set at similar prices. Plan ahead for parking --
Service is very friendly and the overall appearance of the restaurant is inviting. The food is OK but not great. The booths are remarkably uncomfortable. The benches make the most rustic pews seem luxurious by comparison and the position of the bench relative to the table is designed to accommodate the grossly obese so thinner people will need to sit on the very edge of the bench to comfortably reach the food.
Great service, they were so nice at every point. The food was very good. Chicken parmesan was really good and the bread pudding was awesome. Prices were very good, didn't brake the bank. You must try Bocci's. We are coming back
The food is plentiful and affordable with three course meal that is on $20 per person. Quite a bargain. The antipasto plate was average with a mozzarella cheese that was bland. The other salad was very good tomato, basil and mozzarella drizzled with olive oil. The ravioli was above average but the sauce was heavy. The meatballs were ok with a tomato sauce that was just ok. In both main courses there was just too much food. For dessert we had tiramisu and panna cotta that was excellent. The drinks were excellent but the bread was also bland with a very light flavorless olive oil.
great find. food was delicious.service was great. highly recommend
