About Bocado Tapas Wine Bar – Worcester
Tapas represent a style of eating and a way of life that is very Spanish, and yet very adaptable to American culture. Ranging from very simple fare to more sophisticated dishes, tapas are generally served in small portions on small plates and shared by everyone in the party. Of the over 40 different tapas Bocado offers, Fried Goat Cheese, Shrimp Burgers, Scallops Wrapped in Bacon, and Mozzarella Rice Balls are among fan favorites. Further more, the menu offers a broad selection of imported meats and cheeses, signature paella dishes as well as an exclusively Spanish wine list. The warm atmosphere and skilled service allows guests to immerse themselves in this style of eating for a truly unforgettable dining experience.

Bocado Tapas Wine Bar – Worcester Ratings and Reviews
Great wine selection, had a bartender recommended tempranillo after asking for a good cabernet while waiting for a second couple. Not too tangy, good choice but $11 a glass. We ordered a bottle with dinner, which was just $40, a bargain by the bottle.
This is a tapas restaurant, small delicious plates is their feature.
We ordered the Bocado Experience for four, giving us four cheese/meat plate appetizers, eight tapas, a large paella and two deserts for $150. Plenty of diverse tapas choices to pick from...from pork belly wrapped in bacon, rabbit, roasted truffled brussel sprouts, lamb chops...there must have been 25 to select from. All were outstanding, except for the shrimp which was bland.
For dessert we all split a chocolate churros and a flan.
After getting home I added what our bill would have cost if we bought ala carte, instead of the experience. It would have cost $151, so the experience isn't quite a bargain. We took the paella to go, since we were stuffed. The experience is just too much tasty food.
We'll all go back in the future, but will probably stick to three cheese/meat appetizers, six tapas, a paella and pass on the dessert for four and still be content. The next time our ala carte experience will probably cost closer to $100 for four.
Atmosphere is really comfortable...sort of cozy industrial feel in the dining area. Seating booths were great for parties of four or five. High top tables near the bar were at the center of a buzz, really good crowded vibe.
Was a great find on OpenTable and look forward to the next trip.
This was my 4th visit to Bocado, so obviously it is good, and worth a return trip. We went before a play on this night, and our server was good to make sure our food delivery was timely (to our deadline). We tried some Tapas from the Specials, and some from the menu. My favorite on the cold plates is the fried avocado with shrimp salad. The lamb lollipops are great from the hot menu. The place is pretty noisy, that is my only complaint.
Abslolutly outstanding, from the service to the food. Different choices to fulfill everyone's palate. Server was awesome and was always right on top of everything. Great place to eat. I recommend the two person combination....plenty of food, yes you will take some home.
I've never dined in Worcester before. The restaurant seemed to be in an unassuming part of town but clean and well lite. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I love the idea of tapas! We ordered one at a time as we went. It was fun and filling but not stuffing. Lovely meal. Thanks!
I’ve been to this restaurant before and have always enjoyed it but was disappointed in the food this time. I ordered the Pulpo a Feira, the grilled Spanish octopus and was very disappointed, it was small and not as tender has I have had before in the pass. I also ordered the Paella Clásica for the first time and was very disappointed. The amount of seafood was limiting, the squid was tiny and the flavor was none. My homemade paella is so much better; I was so surprised since it looks amazing on their website. Maybe it was an off night for them and I may give this restaurant another try.
This was a special birthday meal for my husband and my children were all able to join us for a special meal. As a family we enjoy tasting different types of food and sharing. Bocado is the perfect place for this as the tapas lend themselves to sharing. Lots of fun!!!
I always have the best dinners here. Came for father's birthday recently and got the Bocado Experience for Four. So much food, we took home half the paella! Our server was excellent and recommended a fantastic wine, and even knew where we could buy it. Everyone loved all the food, even the picky eaters!
This is a fun place to go with friends. The food is delicious - both at this location and the one in Wellesley. The seats are a little weird. They tilt forward and are a little high at some tables, you have to eat with your feet on the bar under the table, or you will be falling out of your seat.
The food was delectable...not inexpensive, by any means, but yummy! Our main server, Gloria, was a gem. And the portions were very reasonable, esp. for a tapas place, and the preparation of each dish -- oooh, with the definitely negative exception of the bacon-wrapped scallops, which were almost medicinal tasting...sorry! -- was very satisfying: creative without being over-the-top "frou-frou"! We would have liked to NOT have a television on while we ate, and the waiting between some of the dishes was, occasionally, rather too long, but, as I said, overall, we really liked the food and would like to go back...when we'ved saved up enough $$$! (Maybe we'll just order less the next time!)
I love Bocado! Every time we eat here the food is always fantastic. The wait staff is funny, entertaining and very knowledgeable about the menu. I highly recommend asking for your waiter's favorite item on the menu. Every time I have been pleased with their choice.
Being unfamiliar with eating at a tapas restaurant, it was wonderful to have an explanation given of various small plates, eating customs and a great Spanish wine suggested when we said we liked Malbec. We were seated promptly and comfortably and the service was attentive. While the restaurant isn't cheap, it was a lovely experience with high quality food.
The only DOWNSIDE to our experience was the NOISE level. We were not able to enjoy our meal as there was a table of 6 that was beside us that was so loud and rude it took away from our entire meal. We could not even participate in a normal conversation as you couldn't even hear yourself think let alone talk to one another. We were a party of 6 adults and one child. The food and service was excellent but it will be a while before I would consider going back again. I did speak to the manager/owner as we were leaving and discussed with him my displeasure with our experience. We are a group of 3 couples that dine out together nearly every Saturday night and there are plenty of other venues in the area that we will be able to chose to dine at.
This is the third time we've dined at Bocado and each time seems to get better. The font on the menu however, is very difficult to see in the dim lighting. Knowing this to be the case we downloaded the menu at home to review beforehand and chose our dishes with more thought than on the other occasions. The table for two was too small to comfortably accommodate all the dishes we ordered and the large menu was left on the table taking up lots of space making it feel even more tight. I do not like eating over the menu. The draft beer choice was very limited. We liked the choice of a 2 oz. pour with the wine as well as the 4 oz. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant.
The food was great, and the service was good until we got the distinct feeling that we had been forgotten mid meal. When they did begin bringing the dishes again, they brought duplicates, twice! It seemed like there was very poor communication between the servers and maybe the kitchen.
Such a great restaurant. Service (we sat at the bar) was awesome. Bartender made a point of getting to know all of his customers names and really made you feel welcome. Food was delicious. Palella was enough for a family. Great place for tapas and drinks and great atmosphere.
Great place! We had recently traveled to Barcelona and loved the Tapas Bars there, so decided to try Bocado. The fried goat cheese with honey is fabulous and the grilled octopus was phenominal. My husband had "El Chapo" mixed drink and I had the house sangria, both AMAZING! A little pricey, but well worth it.
