   I usually do brunch here over dinner so in speaking for brunch the food is always delicious and a great value all around. They include a drink to top it off and are always flexible with iced tea as an option. Service is always great and friendly.

   We needed a lunch place on the Upper East Side. This was a perfect. Good variety of options. I got a salad that had dates and chicken and apples. It was quite good. Everyone was happy with their choices (turkey club and hamburgers). Nice neighborhood spot.

   Good service, had salad with shrimp very nice and fresh seasoned just right. Shrimp nice and plump. Other diner had the calamari, which apparently was very good. Nice vinho verde. Asked for some bread for two of us and they brought one slice only, this could improve. Overall good and short walking distance from the Metropolitan Museum. Mix of locals and tourists- always a good sign.

   Merly made our dining experience excellent. She made sure we were well taken care of. Hot food hot cold food cold. All ask for was served at the same time nothing was forgotten.

    Honestly I don't know what happened to this place! I'd eaten here many times by myself on a late Sunday afternoon following a concert at the 92nd St Y. Prior to this day the staff were most cordial. This time, they refused to seat me in the window, which had been my usual spot since October. There were 5 window tables open at the time! The excuse was that people had reservations. Well I had a reservation, too. While I was there, I saw them consistently kicking single women to the curb. Two tall, attractive yuppies walked out over the same thing, which is what I should have done. Ordered a steak medium rare, and it arrived medium well. The waitress really argued with me, even though the meat was gray, and barely pink-ish in the center. I pushed the plate away and said "I'm not eating it." Finally she took it back. It was at least 20 minutes before the next one arrived. (Opened a book to read on my phone.) This time the inside was raw. She made a big show of waiting until I cut it. By then I'd been there about 45 minutes already and was really hungry, so I ate it. Meanwhile, a single man came in and was greeted warmly and seated in the window. Argh! The place had become crowded with family groups by then, and I had to sit there a really long time after I finished eating before I could get the waitress' attention. At last the woman came and slapped the check on the table, without my asking for it. Foolishly, I ordered an espresso. Why? That was another 15 or 20 minute wait, no joke. To top it off, the amounts on the check were higher than the prices listed on the menu, and by 5-10%. Overall, it was the most unpleasant hour and 45 minutes I've ever spent in a restaurant. Although the salad I got with the steak was fine, neither the steak nor the espresso had been very good. Plenty of sandwich places around there for next season's concerts-without the aggravation.
