Good food, friendly staff nice beer and wine choices. good value. I eat here regularly and am never disappointed.
Bocado is always great...great food, great service! Excellent brunch spot.
Disappointed with the service and overall lack of friendliness.
We had a reservation but we were initially put at a small table against a wall.
I complained and they moved us one table over, not by a window.
My eggs were barely warm and one of my friend’s avocado was too warm.
Very rigid about ordering right away because at 10:00, the menu changes.
But they wouldn’t substitute homefries for French fries that the next table got by ordering at 10:05.
There are plenty of breakfast choices in the area. I wouldn’t visit this one again or recommend it to friends.
I never write reviews, but this place disappointed me enough to go there.
Went there for breakfast and enjoyed it thoroughly. Included a salad and fruit rather than the hash browns. Delicious piece of rustic bread. Poached Eggs cooked perfectly.
Great Restaurant! My group loved the food, love the environment, and totally enjoyed!
The restaurant was late in bringing our entrees and brought us complimentary desserts and drinks. Really nice of them, and food was great.
Lamb burger was delicious. Service always excellent here.
Service was awful. Waitress was rude. Food was food!
Perfect place to meet up with friends before an event at the 92nd St. Y
Went here during the week because we were headed over to a lecture at the 92Y. The waiter was great...very pleasant and accommodating. Enjoyed a nice glass of red wine and had the special of the evening: chicken parm over fettucine. Restaurant was reasonably priced. And since we were not lingering over our dinner, but we were served promptly with plenty of time to spare, the meal was fine. It is conveniently located and you got your value. If you are looking for amazing Italian, I would recommend going somewhere else. But this was great for lunch, snacks, and before heading off.
Generous portions, good service & great food. 15 minute walk from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Very warm welcome at the door and our waiter was extra special as we were a group of 5 ladies
taking their time to decide on the menu.
First time there, we were not disappointed. Service was very good, waiters were friendly and attentive.r
Food was reasonably priced, tasty and portions were generous. Nice selection of wine. Would definitely go there again.
Great menu choice. Nice ambiance and good wait staff.
Good service, comfortable setting, attentive to kids.
Good spot for brunch, ordered the quesadilla Benedict, steak and eggs, and omelet. Everything came out good and reasonable in price. Would certainly reccommend
Very unaccommodating. They wouldn't serve us their breakfast special even though it was JUST after 11AM, they make bacon and eggs separately for other items, and it's the same price point as most of their lunches. The turkey sandwich bore no resemblance to any poultry known to man. And the lemon that came with the tea was practically translucent. It's cute from the outside, but that's not enough in this town.
Lovely service, nice champagne, delicious dinner! Never disappointed here.
This the worst restaurant I've been to in NYC, literally. Terrible service staff. I ordered a pasta dish that tasted like it cooked in cold water. When I told the waiter, he took it away and I ordered a flatbread, he told me I ordered a new dish because I didnt like the way it tasted. I said no, it's because its ice cold and Im not eating it. THEN the flatbread was even worse...it was like Lunchables (remember those?) with grocery store packaged cold cuts and smuckers jelly. I've NEVER posted anything on here, Yelp or anywhere but I could not help it with this place. CERTIFIED DUMP.
Overpriced but good food
Visiting NYC with family for yearly visit and found recommendation on Open Table. Food was fabulous, service exceptional, and restaurant relaxed. We had varied menu options and loved them all.
Disappointed they didn't serve oatmeal at brunch. My friend sent her eggs back 3 times. So many homefries, such a waste. Would have liked a second piece of toast!
Bocado, with it's modern chic atmosphere, serves Italian experiences with each dish. Bocado excels with a menu that combines the beauty and tradition of home cooking with a modern flair suitable to the palates of the UES inhabitants. A bustling kitchen of highly trained professionals is bridged by the impeccable service of the sharply dressed staff. The only redeemable complaint looming is the stagnant menu that features trophy dishes of yester-dinners past.
Good neighborhood restaurant. Almost very good on every level. Shared mussels, salad, scallops and octopus appetizers. Then hubby ordered pasta bolognese. Nice atmosphere.
Great food and lovely service! Kept the coffee coming all day :)
Perfect little pizzas hit the spot and the humus was delicious.
Good food and less expensive than most places in the same area. Gnocchi was delicious; crab cake burger was yummy.
The restaurant feels big and clean. Three of us had lunch before a movie. The salads were very good but perhaps a little too much dressing. A turkey sandwich was very good.
Went to this place for brunch. The complimentary orange juice was the best orange juice I ever had. The portion size is huge to make up for the price you’re paying $19 for a sandwich or kale and eggs.
Great before 92nd St Y.
Large menu with many choices free m lite bites to full dinners.
Lovey ambiance, especially fir this easy menu.
We stopped off for lunch before heading to the Met. The food was great, delivered promptly and hot. It was delicious. My friend had the chicken quesadilla and cleaned the plate. I had the poached eggs and they were cooked perfectly. Would absolutely come back again.
The food was really delicious! The bolognese has a funny flavor, I thought, but my son loved it.
The staff was amazing, I didn't mention a food allergy and they completely remade my meal at no cost!
I booked an early dinner for 9 people this past Saturday. We were in town for an exhibit at the Met. I chose Bocado for its location, menu variety and it wasn’t crazy expensive like many restaurants in NYC. The food was ok, probably worth the value. Though their Bocado Avocado was just an avocado filled with corn, silly appetizer. We also ordered the crispy artichoke with blue cheese. I was excited about that app, it was just ok, cheap blue cheese dressing accompanied the app. One person in our party oredered a flat bread for an appetizer and a pasta dish as her entree. They brought her appetizer late, everyone else was just about done with apps. When she asked the waiter to cancel her entree b/c she would just eat the flat bread for dinner, he insisted it would be fine b/c the entrees wouldn’t be out for another 20 minutes. Needless to say 5 minutes after she got her flatbread, her entree arrived. She was so rushed, she was unable to enjoy her meal. Bocado Cafe is OK, but nothing to write home about.
excellent omelette. Tried mimosa for the first time at bocado, pretty decent. excellent service. and my favorite of all UES
We love this place for a casual date-night or brunch. It's great for couples and for larger groups, and they have a good sized selection of menu items to choose from.
Excellent neighborhood spot for good quality tasty food.
Generous portions. The salads are Amazing and my crab cake was delicious and fresh!
Don't order the fried Calamari. It is tough, very greasy and much of the breading was falling off and/or off. Broccoli Rabe was okay and the other diner had a salad which was okay.
We were a party of 8 and everyone was happy, good menu, lovely space, one of my neighborhood favorites.
