Boca Chica Restaurant
The authenticity of the food is maintained by making everything from scratch, the old-fashioned way, with fresh ingredients. Even the fiery salsa is still made with fresh tomatoes, chiles, and that special Frias family touch. Our menu includes some of the more traditional foods such as guisados, sopes, carne asada, chile rellenos, and tamales. Taste is never compromised. We also have a full bar featuring the city’s best selection of Mexican beers and premium tequilas. Voted "Best Margarita" by City Pages.

I have always loved this restaurant. Very happy that things are opening up (Covid-related) so we were able to dine in. Loved the al pastor tacos!
it was fun to finally go to one of our favorit restrants. always good food only complant they sat us next to the patio door and everytime someone went in or out we got a cold draft asked for another table but they were unable to accomidate us.
Boca Chica is a wonderful place to meet with your friends and family. They are reasonably priced, food and drinks are wonderful! Great atmosphere. Servers and hosts are awesome!
Our gold standard for great Mexican food! Fish tacos, carnitas, guac, sopa, enchiladas verde...margaritas!
We were hoping for more depth in flavors. The mole lacked spice and richness.
Excellent food, great covid protocols. The inside is very traditional Mexican restaurant, nothing fancy. It doesn’t need to be, the food is excellent.
The fried tacos are good, the service was mediocre. Prices are also pretty high for what it is.
Food is so consistently delicious, and served hot and fresh! Very clean and attractive, cozy environment.
My favorite place to go out to eat. I know that the food will be amazing and served hot and fast. Service was friendly as usual. I will go back as soon as I can!
I have been to this restaurant before and have always loved the food so I wanted to bring some friends there hay had never been there. Unfortunately our experience was not very well. It took over 15 min from sitting down to even have someone get us water and that took us flagging someone one down. We understood the waiter didn’t know he was assigned to our table and that he was new. We have all been there and understand. The food was great and we enjoyed it! We also noticed several of the tables around us that he was also the server for had very slow service with no help from others or the manager. We ordered dessert and two of us got the same thing and couldn’t eat it because of how terrible it was. I asked for a box for my leftovers 5-6 times before I finally got one. Overall my friends will not be going back and it was very disappointing to have that type of service but even more so the lack of help and direction a new employee did not receive from his manager.
There were three of us and two of us got sick.
Delicious food and friendly staff. We went twice in one week because we had such a positive first experience. Second time was just as pleasant.
Authentic Mexican food. Very good. Friendly service.
Haven't been here in a long time. Food and service was good. Price's were well within the range for this type of establishment.
Servers are so friendly and welcoming. The food tastes like your abuela cooked it just for you! And the food is always consistent. We have never had a bad meal at Boca Chica!
I’ve been going to Boca Chica‘s for over 35 years. Great food great dining experience.
This is a solid Mexican restaurant, and it will be much better when staff does not have to boot us out do to 1.5 hour COVID-19 restrictions! It's a bit of a drive for us, so will not be returning for awhile.
Great! Very fast service. Served nice and hot. Very generous portions. Hostess and Waite staff very accommodating. Food is consistently very good. So nice to have automatic doors.
Our waitress was great very attentive. First time here. Michelada lil watered down. I had a trio beef enchilada, cheese enchilada and taco with black beans on the side. Enjoyed the food very much especially the black beans really food flavor.
My favorite Mexican Restaurant! Consistently Good!
Coming from Texas a couple months ago, it has been really hard to find a great Mexican Restaurant. The service was great and everything was out quickly. Our waitress was super friendly with our kids! The food unfortunately just wasn’t very good. The fajitas were barely seasoned and thin chunks of meat. In texas you get thick steak slices and well seasoned. The margaritas were the worst out of the other four Mexican restaurants we have tried. Hoping to find some good Mexican food soon!
The wife and I enjoyed dinner
Glad we decided to eat there. Very clean in the midst of Covid and food was excellent!
Everything was great! Super friendly service and large portions of delicious food. It was all good and we'll be back.
The food was served fresh, hot, and very flavorful. Best Margaritas in town.
Boca Chica never disappoints! Have been going here for decades and never have had a bad experience. Already looking forward to my next visit!
My tostada was cold like it didn’t thaw totally when they microwaved it.
All staff did a fantastic job supplying hand sanitizer, masking, spacing tables and social distancing. Boca is an all time favorite and they continue to exceed expectations on their food and beverage. I would definitely recommend this food establishment!
3 of the guests at our table had never been there before. They will definitely be going back! Best authentic Mexican food around!
Moving from Hawaii. My husband and I didn’t think we would find good Mexican food here and pleasantly surprised. The queso is the bomb and the crispy beef tacos awesome. We went twice in a row. Lisa was our server both days and super friendly, took really good care of us... oh the chorizo and egg really good as well.
Our waitress took some photos of us and did a great job. She even seemed to enjoy it.
Food was great. I was surprised at the charge for chips and salsa but it’s way worth it. The soup was a extra that wasn’t explained and not necessarily needed if you don’t want It. Maybe you could offer the chips or soup as an option. Just a thought. Otherwise we will be back.
What a great experience overall and our server was the best ever!
Had the Valentine's day braised rib special. So very good. Wife had her normal, Tamales Oaxaca. Consistently good, friendly service. One of my favorite places to eat.
If you’re looking for a quality Mexican food experience for just the two of you or the whole family this is the place. Everything on the menu is excellent but my go to is the deep-fried flour tacos, they are Fantabulous!!
With the fireplace and the lights down low it was super calming. And then the summer the patio is the best at sunset.
We love Boca Chica! I have been going there for over 40 years, so warm and cozy on a freezing night in Feb.... and during Covid. I was pleased with how they have adapted to the new challenges and felt very"safe".
Very enjoyable experience, especially since my friend and I hadn't seen each other in a few weeks. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Both of us would recommend Boca Chica and I'm sure we'll return.
Always great food and service. Have been coming to this restaurant for 30 years, never disappointed
Food was great as always. They did an awesome job on social distancing and had sanitizer at every table. For our first dining out in awhile it was a very nice time.
Awesome as always! The only place we go for Mexican food in the Twin Cities.
