Love it here. Only complaint is we were half way through our appetizers and they bought out our entrees. That’s kinda annoying having all the plates, feeling rushed etc. kinda applies it for me
Great tapas and decor but noise level was nearly intolerable... the group of 8 women at the center table was really loud and even when they left it was difficult to carry on a conversation. It would be great if they did some acoustic alterations.
It was all good.
The only thing I didn't like it was too loud at times.
Nice birthday celebration with family. Food was delish & service was wonderful. Third visit. We’ll be back soon!
They had a big party and kitchen was backed up . Waiter and manger came and apologized for delay in food . We were fine enjoying the night . They gave us our deserts on the house . Not necessary but unbelievably well done on their part . This place never disappoints!
Consistently delicious food and excellent service.
One of our favorite spots in Saratoga.
We had a great meal on a Friday night. Our server was Audra, she quickly made us feel welcome and made excellent suggestions that enhanced our experience. We started with manchego cheese and Serrano ham. Both excellent and perfect. Little things, like bringing bread and water when needed as well an excellent wine suggestion made this our most memorable meal in Saratoga. I strongly recommend it.
If you like going out for tapas, then you must visit Boca Bistro. The interior decor transported us back to Spain where we originally fell in love with tapas style eating years ago. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and happy to provide recommendations based on our preferences. We chose six dishes which was actually very hard to do. There were so many delicious options to choose from. Special shout to our two favorite dishes, the octopus and the stuffed peppers. We’d never had stuffed peppers with lentils before. It was quite tasty.
The drink choices were solid. We dabbled in some Cava and some Garnache. Both were delicious.
We shall return to Boca Bistro upon our next night out in Saratoga.
Our section was by the door and hostess station. To me this caused a little commotion when the hostess was busy. The privacy is limited. I did note a nicer section in the opposite side of the room. I would definitely request that next time. The food selection was varied and diverse. We selected 4 small plates a veggie and the chef selection cheese board. The cheese and meats were excellent. Of the 4 small plates we really enjoyed the pate and lamb chops. The ham croquettes were cold and the dates small and cold. Even though the server stated we would only receive two items at a time the last of our food came out with three items. The broccoli was hard and cold too. Not very tasty. I do think the kitchen was rushing our experience. Hence the cold food that she was trying to hold back on. The service was adequate; they were pretty good about clearing the table and refreshing the water glasses. The server was pleasant, could of been a little more attentive and apologetic about the cold food. All and all I would go again.
Went on a bustling Friday night. We arrived a little late due to traffic but they did not complain and we were seated promptly. My husband saw they had paella which we love and never see so we ordered it right away since it takes a half hour and we had a show to get to. Also ordered ham croquettes and, upon the server's recommendation, the stuffed piquillo peppers. Ham croquettes not what they sound like, you know, not your mother's leftover ham concoction but Spanish Serrano ham, nice fried "sticks" (look like mozzarella sticks). I just might have liked some sort of dipping sauce. Piquillo peppers delicious and filling. We ordered 2 different glasses of Tempranillo, a Spanish red wine, to compare them. The cheaper one was fine but the expensive one absolutely delicious, full and fruity. Go for it. Paella very generous, they say it serves 2-3 and the 2 of us definitely could have used help! Shrimp, chicken, chorizo, mussels, clams, scallops and calamari. They were careful not to overcook anything but the clams hadn't opened yet. The waitress took them and brought out more that were properly cooked. It was all very good but we couldn't detect saffron which should be the dominant flavor. I know it's very expensive but it's the point of the dish. Anyway we had a very nice experience, service was excellent and we'd love to try it again since there's a pretty creative menu.
The food was excellent. Service was impeccable. Great atmosphere and great people. When in area will visit again.
Very nice ambiance. We went for lunch and all got salads. They were good but not anything too spectacular. We also got the deviled eggs, which were good. If I went again for lunch I'd try a sandwich, and I'd like to go for dinner tapas.
Went for Mothers Day. Restaurant was not busy but we were there for a 3pm reservation (between brunch and dinner). Was disappointed we couldn't order paella because it was too early. Being a popular Spanish dish, we didn't think paella would be excluded from the menu. In Spain they eat paella in the afternoon and evening. After determining we probably won't be able to find another restaurant with availability for six on Mother's Day, we decided to order burgers and chips, a small meat and cheese platter, two apps, sangria and coffee. For six people it was almost $300. I think we would have been ok with the amount we spent had we not had burgers and chips and had paella, instead.
Great food and great service! We were seated quickly at an outdoor table and had plenty of room. Our drinks were Cosmos and they were excellent! Loved the sandwiches and the fresh bread and olives were a nice touch. Creative menu and plenty of healthy options. Will certainly go back!
I want everyone who reads this to understand that the place treated us ok. It was not a bad place, it is expensive for the kind and type of food they serve but this is a one and done kind a place, just to say you've been there. The place looks very nice and simple. It's a Tapas place, period. The food is not awful but it's not very good.
Either. I'm not a food critic but I do know what Paella should taste like and New York Strip Steaks are my specialty and they both were less than marginal. Now, if your tastebuds are shot or just eat to get a full belly then this place is for you but if you want really tasty and authentic food then this is not the place. Our experience was ok but not what we thought. Again not a horrible place but not our cup of tea. I hope this was helpful.
This was a fabulous resteraunt with great food, awesome drinks and great service.
Excellent server and suggestions for how much food to order
Great food! Really enjoyed my meal! Fisherman Soup.
The food was delicious as always! The stuffed dates, bone marrow and crispy pork belly were fantastic!
Fantastic Tapas and great drinks!
The service was amazing, the octopus was to die for!
If you book w Open Table, make sure you sit at a table, not the bar, or no credit for your reservation. Despite being angry at missing 100 points, i have to say this place is great. Food is outstanding. Do the tapas.
I have been to Boca multiple times but things were off on this visit. Service was pokey and not attentive. Noise level was very high. Food was good but not up to the standards of previous visits. Latest octupus prep was bland and not particularly memorable, eggplant and bulghur was good but the bulghur was under soaked leaving it crunchy and raw tasting. I will return because I know every restaurant has issues on occasion. Bring back the grilled octupus, the small boiled ones just don't taste as good.
Great, interesting food - lots of options for a vegetarian. I love the brussel sprouts and shishito peppers in particular. But, really, it's all great - though the kale salad could use a bit more "massaging" - it's rougher than it should be.
Very slow service, even with the restaurant was half empty!!! No follow-up/service throughout the meal. Waited for 15 minutes for the check. NOT acceptable!
Great food and better service
Amazing food—omg, the stuffed dates and the pork belly tapas! To die for. I’m also addicted to red currants now. Will definitely visit this restaurant again when in Saratoga springs.
All the tapes we tried were good. Really enjoyed the pork belly, Spanish omelette, and white bean soup. Churros (for dessert) were incredibly light and almost melted in my mouth.
we went with a group of 5 family members. Paella was fantastic. Had 5 dish's of appetizers
before. Paella took 30 minutes to prepare but it is worth it. We will go back.
Audra was great
First, since you have opened 5 years ago, I have been coming ever since. Eating outside, is perfect during summer time and inside dinning is superb. The food is so eclectic with that Spanish flare and delicious - the lobster bowl and the scallops with the Portuguese cheese style mashed potato was fantastic. Definitely coming back!!! Ambiance is perfect and the staff is professional and attentive, kept refreshing my water glass which I find it adds a touch of "We got you"...
Fabulous paella! Wonderful service! Great atmosphere! This will become one of our regular places to dine when traveling to Saratoga.
Great food and drinks. Shane did a great job. We will be back.
We have been here many times and had great experiences. The food is always exceptional with wonderful selections.
Best part of Boca Bistro for me is, hands down, the food. One of my favorite restaurants in Saratoga Springs. Second best part, the servers, always both good and enjoyable. If you like a vibrant scene, plus good food and good service, then this is definitely the place for you. It's almost always too noisy and chaotic for me to be perfectly comfortable, but that's just me; it's saying a lot for the place that I keep coming back for the food and always manage somehow not to be distracted or worn down by the cacophony; the rest of the experience makes it worth it. But, if you're the kind of person whose enjoyment depends first on the atmosphere and only secondarily on the food, then I'd say look elsewhere. Mouzon is the only place I know in town with both food and atmosphere truly wonderful.
Great tapas options for a group of picky eaters - gluten free and vegan
Friends met for lunch at Boca on a Tuesday. One of us needs gluten-free options and our waiter was so accommodating. He offered that the kitchen specially prepare a side dish for her - even though there were gluten-free options on the menu. All of us were happy with our food choices (the Goat Cheese salad is highly recommended - especially with shrimp). We were offered free refills of our soft drinks. We were never rushed, and sat and talked happily long after the meal was over.
The decor is rustic and attractive. I guess if I had one suggestion, it would be for more comfortable dining chairs. The seats are hardwood - cushions might be a nice touch! But all in all, I recommend Boca Bistro for its freshly prepared food and friendly service. A pleasure!
Always fun. Staff attentive and helpful, friendly.
Our meal was delicious from start to finish. We shared 5 dishes and a dessert. Everything was tasty with interesting flavors. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. A very pleasant, flavorful evening!
