Boca Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed the atmosphere. The waitress (Beth) was personable and very informative in regards to the menu. Being our first visit we appreciated her explanation of the combination of foods and the ordering process. We gave 4 thumbs up and we left with smiles.
Normally a very reliable spot for lunch or dinner. We have enjoyed several very good meals. This time they missed the mark on several dishes. Appetizers and meals were significantly overseasoned and over salted. The octopus special was tough and not well prepared. We will try again but were disappointed on this occasion.
We had a good experience overall, but I wished they do more for birthdays. We told them that it was a birthday and our server didn’t seem to care, plus she was not good at her job. The bartender was more attentive when we sat at the bar. I even asked our server to take a picture and she said no, that she needed to go and do something else and come back.
It was very crowded on a busy regatta weekend. So glad we made reservations.
We tried 6 tapas, plus dessert and left very full and satisfied.
There weren't as many tapas selections as we had hoped or as we have had in other tapas restaurants, but what we had were quite good...most especially the pork bellies, devilled eggs and stuffed dates. Desserts, white chocolate mousse and chocolate chacouterie were also excellent.
The seating was very tight and the noise excessive, due to the large crowd, but we would definitely try it again on a non-event weekend!
Very nice evening. I'd reserved the wrong night and was in a quiet panic but the hostess managed to slip us into an available table, and a good one. Our friend ordered one terrific tapas dish after another. Lovely wines. A long and jolly and convivial night. Our best meal at Boca yet.
We had a pleasant dinner at Boca Bistro. The service was excellent, and two of the dishes (bacon wrapped dates and ham croquettes) were outstanding. The other two dishes (brussel sprouts and shrimp in garlic) were not up to our standards. The atmosphere was great, and overall we would recommend the restaurant.
The food was simply spectacular as were our servers. Please extend our thanks to them as well as the folks in the kitchen. We were there for a light meal before a concert and had no idea what a treat we were in for. We had the Lamb chops and Garlic Shrimp.
Besides being very knowledgeable about the food and beverages (I enjoyed a local IPA from the Other Half Brewery) our servers shared some great ideas about things to do during our all too brief visit to Saratoga Springs. We will definitely return to Saratoga for another visit and look forward to sampling more of the delights that Boca surely has to offer!
The food was excellent as usual. The menu has changes somewhat since the last time we were there for dinner, and I think the selections for someone looking for more than tapas has expanded. The chef's selection of meats and cheeses was a great appetizer, and the bread is some of the best around.
Outstanding experience of excellent service, food, wine, and beer. Although considered a tapas restaurant the portion sizes are large for “small plates” so the diner must be aware. In all fairness my server did advise me of such. All in all a top restaurant in the Saratoga dining scene and I would certainly return.
This restaurant was awesome! Came here for our one year anniversary and my wife said it was the best food she’s ever eaten. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable providing explanations on the menu and recommendations based on what we were looking to eat. The seating arrangements were a tad tight as it’s a smaller venue but once the menus were taken from the table it felt more spacious. My wife had the Fideo and I had the marrow spread along with the pork belly. Definitely would eat here again!
We visit Boca often and it is always a treat. The tapas are spectacular and the service is spot on. They are attentive without hovering. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and the wine and was more than happy to help. This is not the cheapest place to dine in Saratoga but in my opinion it is the best!
My wife and i celebrated our wedding anniversary here and were treated with excellent service. We split the paella which was easily big enough for a group of four with plenty of seafood. We ended our meal with a pistachio mousse topped using a sort of raspberry jam.
Although i decided i didn't really care for paella as much as i thought i would it was still enjoyable and the dessert was fantastic! I would definitely come here again.
I enjoy Boca Bistro. T hey have a great wine list and I usually order from the tapas menu for the entire table.
In the past I have been impressed with the training of wait staff--always refilling water, placing napkins on seatback when you get up from the table, monitoring wine and bread for the table, even making suggestions if asked about wine or food. This time we had a waitress that seemed inconvenienced by any request and did not do a good job either providing bread and oil, refilling wine glasses or other beverages. The most notable thing which I had not experienced in the past was that the tapas came out in an order that did not make for a great meal and sometimes one at a time, which wasn't much food for a table of 5.
My husband and I ate at this low-key but pleasantly crowded bistro during a 2-day vacation stay in the Saratoga area. We wanted a non-meat meal and chose several tapas dishes that filled the bill perfectly, including white anchovies, roasted cauliflower with zaatar, roasted red peppers and pine nuts, and roasted shishito peppers. There are many restaurants to choose from in downtown Saratoga and we were more than satisfied with our choice.
