Bob's Steak & Chop House - San Antonio Ratings and Reviews
This was a visit for our son’s 16th birthday. What a spectacular experience for him, never to be forgotten. He had a choice, Bob’s Steak snd Chops, or a party for 10 or so of his friends. He picked Bob’s and it was awesome from walking in, receiving a birthday card signed by all the employees, to the over the top entree, to finally the complimentary dessert. We’ll be back. Fabulous.
From observation of the attendees of the restaurant, I feel we might have been subject to racial discrimination. Not sure if due to Spanish not being my first language, or that I did not have my Mercedes valet.
Our first visit to Bob’s we were treated amazing, and food was 5 star, this trip was way below expectations
This was my first experience at Bob’s and my husbands first experience at this location. We dined here for New Years Eve and I would consider this a special occasions place. It is pricey but the food is well worth it. Everything we had was delicious although the carrots could have been cooked slightly longer. Service was good, no major complaints there.
New Years Eve dinner 2017 for our anniversary at Bob’s was amazing! They made us feel like we were the only 2 people in the restaurant. We ordered filet mignon with lobster tail and New York strip which I have to say was the best steaks we have had in San Antonio. We will be back. Thank you all!!
My wife and I do not go out to fancy dinners often. As a private chef, it is hard for us to spend a lot of money on food when we eat gourmet food almost every night. That being said, we were hungry for a great meal to simply celebrate our marriage to each other. Bob’s did not disappoint us. The atmosphere was romantic with dark wood walls great seating and dim lights. Our server was very attentive and the wait staff kept our water glasses full (which is a very big thing to me). My wife ordered the 6 oz. filet medium and it arrived perfectly cooked. The only disappointment on the plate was a large whole carrot as her vegetable. The large end of the carrot was undercooked, but the small end of the carrot was cooked well. My wife stated the carrot did not have much flavor. I guess that appends when you simply peel a carrot cook it for a few minutes and then place the entire carrot on the plate. My wife and I both ordered salads which were both wonderful. Even though we came to a “steak house”, the chef’s special was blackened red snapper with shrimp over a mixture of wild and white rice. The entire dish was covered in a Cajun Etouffee sauce which was seasoned very well. The price of the meals, again reaffirmed the fact that we could save a lot of money eating gourmet food at home. There is something to say about getting dressed up actually combing my hair before dinner. Our entire bill was $160 plus tip. Bob’s steakhouse will be a once-per-year evening out for us. A very good restaurant that we feel is a bit overpriced for what you get.
Meat was excellent, but the sides were pretty average compared to competitors in the market. Price point too high for service delivered. As a high end steak house frequent dinner, this location missed the mark compared to others in NW SA. It is my third time here, and I'm not sure I'll risk another evening.
The food at Bob's is consistently delicious. The steak is among the best in the city and the appetizers and sides are a great compliment. This time I had the bacon wrapped shrimp and fried lobster tail. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and very flavorful. Great service is another bonus!
Very impressed! Our first time here st Bob’s in San Antonio. We go every year to a Bobs to celebrate my mother in laws birthday and this year she received a birthday cad sighed by all the staff (even the chef). Food was excelent as always and service exceptional? Thank you all for a wonderful evening!!
There is nothing that you can say about Bob’s. It is one of the best restaurants in San Antonio. I highly recommend it to everyone and anyone which is sort of redundant. The food is absolutely great and you must try the wagu beef. However anything eat there is going to be good.
FOOD, ESPECIALLY THE STEAKS AND LAMB APPETIZER WERE EXCELLENT. (ONE STEAK, THE RIBEYE, WAS SALTY.)
DESSERTS WERE GENEROUS AND TASTY, ESPECIALLY THE KEY LIME PIE AND THE BROWNIE. BREAD PUDDING WAS A TAD DRY.
NOISE LEVEL PRECLUDED ENJOYABLE CONVERSATIONS.
DRINKS WERE GENEROUSLY POURED.
The steaks are simply amazing! Truly one of the very best filet mignon I've had. This was our first visit to Bob's. I didn't expect tvs playing sports, but was able to ignore it. Service was slow, but that could be due to holiday dining.
Don't miss the creamed corn, it's fabulous! The Mac n cheese was not our favorite.
