It can get a bit loud for an intimate dinner but the food was outstanding. The meals are NOT ala carte so you get a full meal with your steak. Don't forget to ask for the appetizer pickles!

Ordered a Ribeye- was way below acceptable- cooked ok but quality as not even close. Will not go there again- a steak that bad should not anywhere in the spectrum of what you get. Also, and much less of a problem, I get ambiance and all but the place is dark, need to turn up the lights.

Very upscale with outstanding waitstaff. At around $100 a plate, the steak should be tender. Unfortunately, it's not true, but the salmon was excellent. Salad and sweet potato were also extra??? bringing a plate to around $130. Guess I should have gone for the more expensive cut!

The Steaks and all the food has always been good. However, beware of the gouging on their drinks. I recently visited the Bob's in Louisville, KY and they charge a reasonable $16 dlls. for a Macallan 12 and the San Antonio location charges $ 48 dlls. for the same Macallan 12 pour. Ridiculous. I asked the manager on duty and he basically told me that is what they charge. For this reason several of our friends do not want to eat at this location any longer. I can't blame them.

Bob’s Steak & Chop House is one of the best Steak houses in San Antonio. I highly recommend it to everyone for every occasion. I only hope one day they bring back carpaccio. The only thing we the people need to do is order it. Get with it people I need my carpaccio.

Let me start by saying I Love Bob’s. However, this was not the best experience. My steak was over cooked, I asked for medium it was well done. My partners asked for well done his steak was medium rare. Not sure how they got those confused and we weren’t served the others steak because we got different steaks. We will be back but I was disappointed.

The main reason I picked this place was for the bread pudding. It is absolutely the best I have ever had. The rest of the food was excellent as well. I had the special- halibut and shrimp with risotto and it was delicious. Between the generous bread and butter, portion size and anticipation of dessert, I had enough left over for a large lunch the next day. Yum! twice!

My husband and I went to Bob’s to celebrate our anniversary yesterday. The service was OUTSTANDING. I Can honestly say we’ve never had the kind of service that we got there. The staff was very attentive and super friendly. Our server made great suggestions and you could tell she knew the many really well. On top of that, the food was out of this world. We shared the tuna tartare appetizer and my husband ordered some raw oysters. The cucumber gimlet was very tasty; I don’t like it when you order a martini and all you can taste is the liquor. I could taste the gin but also the cucumber in it so it was not overpowering. Then we shared the jumbo shrimp scampi entree and was phenomenal. Bob’s is seriously a hidden gem that everybody need to try. I can’t wait to go back.

This was a special occasion (anniversary) dinner. This was our third time at Bob's, and both previous experiences were very enjoyable, making this almost a tradition for special occasions. We went the seafood route this time. My wife had the salmon, and I had a blackened grouper, which was the chef's special that night. We began with cocktails, an Old Fashioned and a Mai Tai. They do a great job on cocktails...the Old Fashioned was made with an orange peel infused rye, which was inspired. Very nice. The grouper was good, but not great. The salmon was better, but again, not great. The restaurant was not crowded on a Tuesday night, so therefore the noise level was not distracting. We had asked for a table in a quiet section away from the kitchen, and we got what we asked for. Our waiter, David, was attentive, engaging, and knowledgeable in both the dinner menu and the beverage offerings. The prices have increased since we were there last year, but that was expected. It was an expensive evening but, again, it was a special occasion. We'll most likely return again next year.

From the moment we were seated, Josh acknowledged us, was very helpful with our selections from appetizers to dessert, and provided the most outstanding service. Josh was very sociable and made some great recommendations for our date. Food was good, service, and drinks were great. Josh made it a great night out for us and we look forward to going back. While the food and service were excellent, we won't be going back because of two problems that most people won't have, It is too dark there. I have lost my night vision, and it was uncomfortably dark. Since was a birthday dinner, we normally would have taken a picture of us, but I knew a flash would be necessary, and I wouldn't do that out of respect for other diners. The second item was the background noise level was too high, I have a cochlear implant, and I could never get it adjusted to take out the conversation in the next table and still hear the waiter, and more importantly, my wife. So I was stuck with the neighboring conversation.
