Bob's Steak & Chop House - San Antonio

We had another wonderful evening dining at Bobs Steak and Chop House. Food was great and the service was exceptional.

The best place to go for an anniversary dinner they decorated the table and had champagne and a anniversary card from the staff the server we had named Ernesto was really good and very interactive and helpful.. every time I have been there my wife and I have an amazing night that we get to have as a memorable experience that is never able to be forgotten

We love Bob’s for ambience, excellent wine selections and excellent service. My husband and I don’t eat large entrees, so we ordered salads and appetizers. Everything was delicious.

We had the Wagyu beef filets and they were wonderful. Pefectly cooked and very tender. We had the mushrooms and asparagus, both were great. The sides are shareable. Our server was Hector. He was friendly, attentive and helpful with our questions. The restaurant is pricey but for a special occasion, well worth it.

Great as always. Hopefully, the jars of pickles will return to the tables soon without having to ask for them.

Bob’s is what you’d expect from a High quality steak house. Food was outstanding, steak selection was great and cooked perfectly. Wine list is broad and deep. Service was attentive and professional. Without a doubt, one of SA’s top three steakhouses.

This dinner was perfect from start to finish. I went with my two adult sons, just because we had not really gotten together since the pandemic and it gave a great chance to catch up over a great meal. Paul, our server was impeccable and in no way was anyone intrusive during our meal. We were able to enjoy ourselves like it was our personal dining room. Will for sure being going back soon.

We arrived at 5:00 and nearly had the place to ourselves before the dinner crowd began in earnest around 6:00. As such, we had excellent service. We had a shrimp cocktail appetizer which was great then shared a fantastic ribeye and and lobster Mac & Cheese. We were impressed with how much lobster was in the dish! We followed with a $14 “wedge” of carrot cake which was also fantastic and huge! It’s truly two pieces of cake in the wedge.

Party of 6 date night with the spouses.... food was great it did take awhile for it to come out but still we were able to distract ourselves of that with drinks and good convo.

An average dining experience with a huge price tag. I was hoping for a great dinner with my wife. She asked for Longhorn Steakhouse, but I asked her if we could try something new. First, the service was above average, our waiter was attentive and polite. The restaurant was very clean with a romantic ambiance. We both ordered filet mignon, hers with sweet potatoe and mine with skillet fried potatoe. They undercooked my steak a little bit, even then it lacked taste. They slapped way too much brown gravy on top my potatoes and it tasted horrendous. My wife thought her filet mignon was average tasting as well. The bread was good. But not outstanding. We had onion rings as an appetizer and they looked beautiful (presentation) but tasted bland. We both drank amaretto sours which were the best we’ve ever had. We will return only for drinks in the future. The total tab ran us $200 after I included a $20 tip so the food was about $180. I would choose Longhorn Steakhouse or Ruth’s Chris for a better steak experience.

The quality of food is unmatched. Great place for a date night or celebrating a special occasion.

We always make plans to eat at Bob’s, we come from Laredo and are never disappointed. The food and drinks are second to none.

This was my first visit to Bob’s. A great anytime but would highly recommend for a very special occasion.

Our experience was wonderful as usual. Paul took care of us and provided excellent service along with all the gentlemen that were helping him. We look forward to going again soon.

Excellent food and service. Lobster bisque is the best around! The staff's attention to detail made our anniversary meal special! We will be back!

Hector was incredible. He was knowledgeable and attentive - everything you want in a great server. We can’t wait to come back and be taken care of by Hector in the future!

It was well worth the drive from our hotel. The cab was late so we called and they were very understanding and held our table. Ernesto was our waiter and did an AMAZING job. The entire restaurant staff was pleasant. The food was delicious- probably my new FAVORITE steakhouse.

I’ve been going to Bob’s for years. Even know the owner, great guy. However, I was very surprised by the $20 per drink for Mexican Martinis ( I asked for Patron Silver which is a middle of the road tequila). I expect to pay premium prices but $20 per drink is excessive. $15 would have been expensive but expected. $20 is unjustified. We had 4 drinks.
Other than that, the steak was good and so were the crab cakes.
The service was excellent.
Because of those prices, I cannot recommend Bob’s to a friend.

The filet was phenomenal and service from Ernesto was impeccable. My father and my husband both had the ribeye and were not impressed. They did not feel that the steak was of Prime quality.

Stephanie was a wonderful server. She recommended dishes and was always checking in to see if all was well.

The food was beautifully cooked. Our server was amazing and I loved that the manager walked around to each table to ensure customers were happy. ❤️

This is just a special place. It's a higher level of expense but it is well worth every penny for the level of service and attention to detail.
