Bob's Steak & Chop House - Plano Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time to Bob’s and it was to celebrate my birthday! I loved the food and experience! Brian, our waiter, was absolutely phenomenal and a joy! The Wrath wine was wonderful and our cocktails, to die for and then some! Thanks again for a scrumptious meal!
When I spend $300+ for dinner, I expect the food to be outstanding. Instead, we all got overly salty, meh food. My daughter had the $64 king crab special and was disappointed that it had no taste. A similar experience was had by others in our party. We had the duck, crab cakes, King crab special, and surf and turf (lobster tail). If you like salty food, this is a great choice. Otherwise, you get a giant carrot (I don't get this at all), the house potatoes (good but salty), and your meal. The upside is that the service is excellent. Our waitress explained the menu and all specials very well and promptly brought us our food and anything we asked for.
Meal was great, service was very good.
We had family in from out of town, 1st timers for Texas steak on their 30th wedding anniversary.
The waiter was gracious enough to bring them a dessert trio to celebrate their anniversary from Bob’s. Later on we realized it was added to our bill.
What’s up with that? Waiter served them this anniversary gift, we didn’t order it, and you charge us.
This was our first visit to Bob's and we were not disappointed. It was for our 20th wedding anniversary and we were welcomed at our table with a nice card from the staff. In addition, our server and the GM also congratulated us and thanked us choosing their restaurant for our celebration.
Fantastic service throughout the evening and the food was prepared perfectly. They even served us a nice dessert sampler gratis. Highly recommended and we look forward to dining at Bob's again.
Our waitress, Chris (I think) was absolutely wonderful. We took our time, had a pre-dinner cocktail, then order the Shrimp appetizer, then ordered our meals. She was patient and even said she didn’t want us to feel pressured, so when we are ready to order, just turn our menus over. It’s a technique I’ll use from now on at any restaurant we go to.
As far as our main meals. She ordered the petite filet and it was prepared perfectly. I ordered the bone in ribeye, medium rare and it was delicious. The meat was “buttery” and had a wonderful flavor to it. I ordered the asparagus as an additional side and was a little disappointed in that. They were very thin spears. I prefer and am used to at better restaurants to have the thicker spears. But they were prepared well. I did ask for a side of hollandaise for the asparagus and that was cold. I just wouldn’t recommend that side to anyone. The cocktails were delicious as well. I can’t remember what she ordered, but it was off of the cocktail menu and I had a bullit old fashioned, made to perfection.
We celebrated my husband's birthday there. From the time we walked in, they addressed him by name, had a birthday card for him, and a complementary dessert -- although by then we were too full to eat much of it! We both agree that the steaks were the best we have ever eaten -- perfectly tender with a crisp salty crust. We also shared a lobster bisque and each had chopped salads; all were delicious. Our budget only allows this kind of dining on special occasions, but we will definitely return!
