Bob's Steak & Chop House - Grapevine Ratings and Reviews
We found the facility nice and appealing, but the atmosphere was marred by excessive noise from customers shouting over each other trying to conduct a conversation. They could use some noise muting ceilings or something. I did not like being forced to use valet parking, there is just no room for self-parking because the majority of the lots are reserved for valet, even as early as 6:00. However, valet folks were prompt and cordial.
we had a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes for our table - party of 3, not unusually high qty of people. After 15 minutes I rechecked and the response was it's Christmas, we're busy. Seems like better planning could have avoided this by lengthier slots to reserve.
We were not given cocktail or wine menu and they seemed put out that we'd even ask for such.
Waiter was nice but he was over booked due to messed up timing . A party behind us must have been regulars b/c many manager type people came to greet them and check on them, no one checked on us, except waiter.
For the price I expect far better service - busy or not. Food was very good but I could get that at other steakhouses in Metro area.
We came for our wedding anniversary dinner. The restaurant was very busy so we ended up having to wait 45 minutes to be seated past our reservation time. However, the managers consistently checked on us and more than made up for the wait with their service and a complimentary shrimp plate. The restaurant was very noisy but that’s due to the how busy the place was. Overall it was a fantastic experience and would definitely dine again.
This was my fifth trip to Bob’s in Grapevine. Service has always been top notch and attentive. Our server, Abel, this time was equally as attentive, but made the evening more fun and alive with his quick wit and attentive conversation. I will return to Bob’s in Grapevine again in the future.
We were celebrating our 21st anniversary our reservation was at 7:45 PM we got seated at 8:00PM; we ordered by 8:10PM and by the time the appetizers came out it was 8:45PM. The food was great the service was also very good, even the manager came by and met us and give us a free dessert for our anniversary. So overall a great experience except for the initial hiccup with the appetizers!!
Everytime we come to Bob's Grapevine we have a great meal! The Kansas City strip was outstanding, my wife had a lobster tail also terrific. They offer a shrimp sampler appetizer that is a must do. The atmosphere is special and now decorated for Christmas it looks particularly amazing. Great friendly staff. We just celebrated our anniversary AGAIN at Bob's!!!
We liked everything about the restaurant except the noise. It was very difficult to carry on a conversation. I don't know how this can be resolved, but due to that we chose low rating on ambiance. The food was excellent. Our waitress was great and accommodating. It was a little pricey, but not too bad for the quality and amount of food you got.
The ribeye steak just wasn't very good. It was supposed to be a prime ribeye but was not tender at all. It contained a lot of connective tissue that also made it tough. The rest of the food was really good. Tables were very close together and it was very loud. Conversation was tough with people at your table.
It was a Monday night and I didn't expect a crowd so I booked a business dinner. However, the restaurant was packed by 7:00 PM and VERY loud, so conversation was difficult. Past that, food and service were exceptional. The fact that the meals come with sides and not served a la carte is an additional plus.
In a world of reduced flavored steaks stuck in a sous vide warming bath for days waiting for someone to order them (looking at you The Keg, your steaks are dry tasteless garbage), it was nice to get an actual flavorful, juicy steak cooked as order. Great wine list. Very good portion size. The rack of lamb was cooked to order and was very very good. Great service. It is a very noisy environment but not in a bad way, just don't expect a quiet intimate experience. It is more of a bold old school upscale steak place. Overall the experience to expense ratio was an extreme winner. My only complaint was the steak knives were ridiculously dull. When you order a rare steak or in my case a rare rack of lamb, you need a knife that can actually cut rare meat. The food was so good, I would bring my own knife next time.
