Bob's Steak & Chop House - Dallas on Lemmon Avenue Ratings and Reviews
Our server was very good but the food took way to long. We arrived at 7:30 and we did not get our entrees until after 9:00. The appetizers were delivered promptly but the salads took 45 minutes, we were thinking our entrees would arrive before the salads. Two of the steaks were undercooked. We have had better experiences at the Ft. Worth and Grapevine locations.
Went to this place after recommendation of a friend for my birthday. Enjoyed the food and service was good. Ambience was just ok. It was pretty loud so I wouldn’t go again for a romantic dinner for 2.
I was a little disappointed that there was no acknowledgement of my birthday especially since it was mentioned during the reservation
We got engaged at this restaurant over 25 years ago (actually before it became Bob’s) and we usually dine at the Grapevine Bob’s (it’s much closer to where we live) but decided to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary at the original Lemmon Ave location for nostalgic reasons. Not a great choice. Between being seated next to a loud table of men (with a perfect view of the emergency exit for me), the hair that showed up in my wife’s salad, the missing bacon on my wedge salad (how does that happen?) and the fact that the Bob’s team did nothing to make our evening special (the only reference to our special occasion was a comment from the hostess when we arrived) this was a less than memorable experience. Even the bread arrived cold, which has never happened to us at a Bob’s before. On the positive side, the steaks were excellent but overall the evening really fell far short of our expectations.
Bob's is among Dallas's top 10 restaurants. Prime beef is a specialty, but for those who want an alternative, they will prepare it skillfully with proper presentation. The service is superb, with well-trained wait staff. Excellent selection of wines, mostly Ca!ifornia, Napa and Sonoma, but a fair selection of European as well. They make lobster bisque better than anyone.
Great meal! Glazed carrots were amazing. It was a little more loud than I would have expected for a high class steak restaurant. Tables are very close together. Didn't realize they would take the pickles away before the meal came - was hoping to try a pepper with my meal!
Everything was wonderful at this restaurant service was great the food was excellent the price was good . The only thing that I would have liked to change was the noise level it was very loud . Had trouble hearing each other at our own table. Other than that it was the best steak I’ve had in a long time.
Service, as usual, was excellent. Quick acknowledgement checking in, and a fast turnaround to our table once it was ready. Barely had time to order and start on our drinks at the bar, and it was 7pm on a Saturday. I prefer their non-bone in cuts of meat; tried the Kansas strip but it's not as good as their prime New York. Could just be personal preference. Baked potato was perfect; so were the sautéed mushrooms. After dinner drinks are always good there: they have higher end spirits which is a huge plus for me; big fan of XO cognac or better; most restaurants only have VSOP at best. Highly recommended!
Food was good. Service was great. Valet was crazy fast and awesome. Don’t understand the TVs in the corners of the room... it’s a “casual attire” but it’s a ‘date date’ type of place for special occasions/anniversaries. We really don’t want a football game and what not playing over our heads while we’re trying to celebrate. Steaks were great for an ok price. They could literally be cut with a fork. Very delishes. Garlic potatoes were good and the lobster was decent tasting.
