Bob's Steak & Chop House - Dallas on Lamar Ratings and Reviews
I uswd the Open Door app to make my dinner reservations and it of course worked! My husband and I went to Bob’s, our absolute favorite steakhouse to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was great as always, our server was super nice and accommodating she even took a few pictures of hubby and I! We will be back for our next special occasion, too expensive for everyday eats haha
Not our best steakhouse experience. Arrived on time, host acknowledged my one significant food allergy, we were seated in the back 40, the usual place for seniors as if we don't actually tip far better than millennials, etc.
Nothing much available to me except steak and a regular #20 Baker with the traditional glopped on sour cream, cheddar shreds, scallions, etc. Big disappointment was not being able to get a wedge salad with the Blue Cheese dressing or any other salad, all dressings have garlic. My Ribeye, ordered medium plus arrived almost raw. A maître'd checked, agreed it was not cooked, took it away. Studied my manicure while my husband enjoyed his Kansas City Steak done as requested, very flavorful he said. The large signature carrot is a strange, overly sweet, orange glazed thing. My re-charred steak returned, but in truth this particular cut was very fatty, came in 2 pieces, irregular in shape. I suspect this is what steak houses give you when you order anything more than medium rare.
The experience tanked even though the server was extremely nice, tried valiently, we just wanted to get back to our hotel so I could order something from room service. We declined coffee, after dinner drinks, dessert, left 40 minutes and almost 200 bucks later. What a bust.
The staff all along was very professional and well trained, the food not worthy of our dining dollars. Hotel steak houses are basically tourist driven, doubtful locals dine there on their own nickel.
Absolutely amazing. The 3 oz. Medallions with Lobster tail was the epitome of Dallas quality dining. When you think of the best meal you’ve ever had, this will be in your mind immediately when trying to answer. These will be huge shoes to fill in my opinion. Well played Bob’s........well played sir.
Delicious steak, attentive service. Certainly one of the best steaks I have ever had. One member of our party likes her steak very well done and this was accomplished to perfection. We all had early AM business commitments next day, therefore no alcohol. Often, this means less attention from the server. Not here! Thanks for making the boss look good. We will be back when in the area. Exceptional.
Went here for my anniversary with husband and we invited his sister/husband; We were greeted quickly and seated quickly for our res; our server George was very attentive, friendly and made great suggestions for food. Our food was excellent- we all had filets with variations that were excellent/ cooked to perfection- the only thing that wasn't great were the tomato salads (tomatoes were mealy) and the single large carrot on all of our dinner plates that comes standard- it wasn't very good and all of us only tasted it- not sure why they include that. We had complimentary sparkling wine at the end of the meal to celebrate the anniversary- wasn't good but a nice gesture. It is very dark in this restaurant so you might be using your phone to see the menu. It was fun to go to this restaurant as we were staying over night at the Omni- fun to only have to walk down and then stumble back up :)
I asked for “close to well done” and it was literally charred black. Very dry. I’ve had plenty of really good, moist and tender well done steaks and this was not one. Salads were tiny for the price and the shrimp I got was not impressive at all. Overall wasn’t impressed with the food. The place is a nice atmosphere and has great service. It’s just the food that’s lacking in my opinion, especially for the price.
It was our anniversary and we were sharing it with friends. It was a wonderful choice. The service was outstanding. Our waitrsss was very observant, knowledgeable of the specials and the menu items. Food was delicious and cooked exactly as we requested. Definitely will go back.
This was our second night a Bob's this trip to Dallas. Everything was perfect!!!!!
Drinks are totally awesome!!!!! Service......can't be any better anywhere.
Food......OMG!!!!! Rack of Lamb was .......Bone Sucking Good!!!!!!!!!!!! It was done to perfection.
We only stay at the Omni Dallas and only have dinner at Bob's on Lamar.
We have been to Bob's many many times....maybe 20 times this year. Each time is fantastic.
The drinks are awesome!!!!!!! Food.....what needs to be said....its fantastic!!! Service is over the top good. We have tried most things on the menu and have yet to be disappointed in any way. I had the filet this time........perfect, perfect, perfect! That with the Nolet's martini's......made a quite memorable night. My wife had the same meal, but with an old fashion or two. It too was perfect! We are returning in December for more of Bob's.
We just can't seem to get enough of Bob's.....we drive 4 1/2 hours to get there.
Really good food but surprisingly limited menu. What Steakhouse doesn't have French Onion Soup? And while the steak was amazing and cooked to perfection, the choice of meat was limited and very little seafood options. I wouldn't order the Caesar salad again but the onion rings were very good (waffle type crusting). Overall, great food, limited menu, strong wine list, lack of ambience, and I would grade it an A- overall.
My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary. We were offered a choice of dessert or champagne on the house. That was nice. My husbands steak was good and he enjoyed it. I ordered the special $60 9oz wagyu filet and ordered it medium plus. It came out medium rare. They took it back and cooked it some more and it came back medium well. I did not eat the steak and was very dissatisfied. I did not complain any further, but when the waitress came back and saw I had not eaten any of my meal I feel like she dropped the ball on giving great service by asking why I had not touched my food. The place was extreamly loud because they had four tables set up with 8-10 people at each table. I don't feel it's a good place for a romantic dinner. Very disappointing...
Great food and service. I usually have a nice juicy steak; however, I strayed from my normal order and did a couple appetizers. The crostini's were excellent (tender beef medallions)and had enough pieces to share. The appetizer lamb chops (order of 4) are one my favorites. If you're into "port", they have a great selection. The staff always have a smile on their face and love their jobs, which makes a huge difference, from the people at the host stand to those that set the tables, pour the water, bartenders, servers, and managers. Thanks for another great experience!
At the time of booking, Bobs was notified that it was our anniversary dinner. Only being a 2 people, they sat us at the closest table to the kitchen which is never good. The main issue was the service level. I have been to every Bobs in the metroplex and this one is by far the worst for service. Not once did someone ever come over and clean up the bread crumbs . At one point as we were eating, we had 7 dishes that we had moved to the other side of the table that weren't being removed. Numerous wait staff walked past, including our own waitress. We also waiting 15 minutes after a drink order. The waitress was at the host stand laughing and have a great time while we just sat there. The manager did come by and offer us a free drink and Bobs gave us a champagne toast with desert which was very nice. Overall, the food was excellent (except for some large piece of bacon that they brought us that we didn't order....they removed from bill). One of the best steaks I've eaten. However, that was only 50% of the enjoyment factor of Bobs in my opinion. The other 50% is the service level throughout the dining experience which was severely lacking with our waitress. However, after we left, we returned 30 minutes for drinks in the bar. Our bartender Khuram was the epitome of a Bobs employee. He was pleasant, funny, honest and attentive. He should be commended for doing such an amazing job. We even left him a 100% tip. He made the night and helped make up for the previous service. Thank you Khurum!
