Bob's Steak & Chop House - Dallas on Lamar Ratings and Reviews
Really good food but surprisingly limited menu. What Steakhouse doesn't have French Onion Soup? And while the steak was amazing and cooked to perfection, the choice of meat was limited and very little seafood options. I wouldn't order the Caesar salad again but the onion rings were very good (waffle type crusting). Overall, great food, limited menu, strong wine list, lack of ambience, and I would grade it an A- overall.
My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary. We were offered a choice of dessert or champagne on the house. That was nice. My husbands steak was good and he enjoyed it. I ordered the special $60 9oz wagyu filet and ordered it medium plus. It came out medium rare. They took it back and cooked it some more and it came back medium well. I did not eat the steak and was very dissatisfied. I did not complain any further, but when the waitress came back and saw I had not eaten any of my meal I feel like she dropped the ball on giving great service by asking why I had not touched my food. The place was extreamly loud because they had four tables set up with 8-10 people at each table. I don't feel it's a good place for a romantic dinner. Very disappointing...
Great food and service. I usually have a nice juicy steak; however, I strayed from my normal order and did a couple appetizers. The crostini's were excellent (tender beef medallions)and had enough pieces to share. The appetizer lamb chops (order of 4) are one my favorites. If you're into "port", they have a great selection. The staff always have a smile on their face and love their jobs, which makes a huge difference, from the people at the host stand to those that set the tables, pour the water, bartenders, servers, and managers. Thanks for another great experience!
At the time of booking, Bobs was notified that it was our anniversary dinner. Only being a 2 people, they sat us at the closest table to the kitchen which is never good. The main issue was the service level. I have been to every Bobs in the metroplex and this one is by far the worst for service. Not once did someone ever come over and clean up the bread crumbs . At one point as we were eating, we had 7 dishes that we had moved to the other side of the table that weren't being removed. Numerous wait staff walked past, including our own waitress. We also waiting 15 minutes after a drink order. The waitress was at the host stand laughing and have a great time while we just sat there. The manager did come by and offer us a free drink and Bobs gave us a champagne toast with desert which was very nice. Overall, the food was excellent (except for some large piece of bacon that they brought us that we didn't order....they removed from bill). One of the best steaks I've eaten. However, that was only 50% of the enjoyment factor of Bobs in my opinion. The other 50% is the service level throughout the dining experience which was severely lacking with our waitress. However, after we left, we returned 30 minutes for drinks in the bar. Our bartender Khuram was the epitome of a Bobs employee. He was pleasant, funny, honest and attentive. He should be commended for doing such an amazing job. We even left him a 100% tip. He made the night and helped make up for the previous service. Thank you Khurum!
Food and service were outstanding, however, there was an atmosphere of college football fanatics in attendance and they were loud using vulgar language at a table next to elementary school aged kids and the sports bar next door had a breakout of Woo Pig Sooie! Not the most romantic spot last Friday!
Great food and service. Managers checked on us throughout the meal. Wagyu filet was one of the best I've had. Some Wagyu is just hype and not much better than a regular filet. This is not the case at Bob's. Their food quality and presentation is outstanding. Everything about this restaurant keeps me coming back.
We celebrated my husband's birthday and we e not the generous meal. The steaks were well seasoned and cooked to perfection. We ended with a complimentary beautifully presented chocolate brownie with peanut butter andf vanilla ice cream.
This restaurant has outstanding steaks! In fact, one of the BEST steaks we have ever eaten in a restaurant. My husband and I were at a table for two enjoying an away football game weekend in the Omni in Dallas. Unfortunately, right after we were seated the restaurant allowed a configuration of tables for 16 men on one side and a long table for 10 (5 couples) on the other side. The noise was maddening! The voices of the two large tables became "yelling" and the men wanted to move about and stand visiting with each other instead of being seated! One twosome almost knocked over my wine at our table! We complained to the hostess and told her that that we felt like we had suddenly been transported to a "sports bar" and NOT enjoying a fine dining restaurant! She apologized and tried to get the men in the largest party to be seated.
Our desire for a quiet and intimate dinner was ruined by the noise and crowds of people adjacent to us with the obvious poor placement of tables "for two" next to banquet sIze parties! This is NOT an inexpensive restaurant so be prepared to pay top prices...and it is worth it when it comes to the taste and flavor of the food! That is what was so sad...to pay the high prices and be exposed to such ridiculously large dining parties that negatively impacted the ambiance.
We assume that in the end, they don't mind "ticking off a twosome" when the dining checks for a 16 seated party and 10 seater party brought in greater revenue!
The food was very delicious! The service was impeccable and overall, it was a beautiful experience. The only negative I had was it was a bit too pricey ( for me) and a bit too dark. Maybe a few candles on the table would have added a bit more light to the beautiful ambience. My family and I were there to have dinner together so we opted for a booth which offers so much privacy. I would definitely love to eat here again without the kiddos as a date-night or anniversary celebration with my husband.
Great experience, our waiter was expectional. We had the tomahawk, we shared a 30 oz steak that is not on the menu. Best desert we have ever had, I would recommend Bob's steak house on Lamar. Only bad thing was that we had 2 big parties next to us and they were loud, but not Bobs fault.
Great food and service. We got to talk to the Executive Chef (Sean). It was fun to talk to the guy that runs the show in the kitchen and is overall responsible for the incredible quality of the food. I recommend the Filet (Prime Beef). The service was top-notch (Server was Jenn) and the manager (Heidi) checked on us throughout our meal. This was not our first time and we'll continue to come back whenever we're back in town. Don't forget to try peanut butter brownie for dessert to leave with an extra smile on your face. Thanks for taking such good care of us! It's our favorite steakhouse in town!!!
Reservations were upheld with zero wait for our table. Our waiter was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and offered suggestions that paid off. We were celebrating my husbands birthday and they recognized our occasion perfectly and the food was absolutely DELICIOUS! Great date night.
