Bobo's is a stylish destination for the most exquisite steak and crab in the City. With antiqued red walls, colored glass light fixtures and tablecloths, the restaurant is like a plush Venetian jewel box. Executive Chef Andrea Froncillo has created a delectable menu that showcases his signature Italian-Asian fusion. The steak is USDA certified prime beef, dry-aged four to six weeks - longer than anywhere else on the West Coast! The crab is Dungeness, harvested from the Pacific Ocean and roasted in a savory garlic-butter sauce that is positively addicting.

Bobo's Ratings and Reviews
The food is great but you're definitely rushed out. For an average of $150 a head you should definitely feel like you can finish your coffee without feeling like you're bothering the server. I've waited tables so I pay close attention to the service I get and I can honestly say I've never had a server take the bill away before my party leaves the table. He was also short with us, unattentive, rude, and completely unfriendly.
Again, for a delicious and expensive meal the overall experience should be an excellent one; not a fair one.
Took my son here while in SFO. I don't eat a lot of meat, but I heard the steaks were great and I wasn't disappointed. We ordered two sides which were good, not great. The presentation of the seafood at the table was impressive. Seemed like a good place to take a date -- it was small, low light, not loud and the service was very good.
The venue looks amazing, especially on ground floor and the service was friendly enough. However, the food is very average and not worth the money. The prawns was the biggest disappointment - they looked fantastic on that hot pan but tasted oily and the dipping sauce did not help. No, I can't see myself returning. A few of my friends went next door to Bobo's Burger and would say that they made a better choice.
Wait person Renaud was excellent! Continental style, yet friendly and relaxed; efficient without being pushy. You should see him open a bottle of wine....the foil at the very top of the wine bottle gets cut and bent so the vintner's name is turned sideways then more of the foil is delicately cut, twisted and folded so that the cork can sit in a foil cradle nestled next to and parallel with the top stem of the wine bottle. Somewhat hard to describe....you have to see him do it in person and he made it look so easy. Oh....and the food. Obviously delicious, we have been to Bobo's five times before and will continue to return.
Very disappointed in the quality of the food. The steak that I ordered was medium rare and it came just barely cooked (raw all the way through except for the outer layer). I sent it back and it was returned to me cooked to the right temperature but it completely ruined the steak , very tough! The prices for this food are too high to receive that quality of food.
Our server spilt a full glass of red wine all over our table, luckily I was able to jump up before it got all over me, but the table was soaked and it even splashed some of the table next to ours (since they were very close together). We were really nice about it and didn't make any negative remarks and the server did apologize, however we were shocked that they didn't offer to replace or comp the glass of wine (that was 1/4 of a $120 bottle that we ordered.) The server also didn't offer to move us to a new table to clean up the mess on ours. Instead he just covered the soaked table with another napkin. I noticed when I put my hand down that the napkin had soaked through with wine, so I mentioned to the server that I was worried the red wine might stain my sweater, so he added another napkin instead of actually cleaning things up! This is not exactly the type of hospitality we expected from a restaurant of this level and we were very disappointed with the overall experience.
I celebrated my 5th anniversary with my lady and we loved it. On the outside of the restaurant you would think it is small. They actually have a lot of seating. Very intimate low light setting. Loved every second. (FYI) no reservation needed for the bar top and bar tables. A MUST GO!!!! First reviews I have ever done and I’m 27. I have been to a lot of places. This restaurant deserves your time and service.
Nice setting in the heart of San Francisco with an ambience under the circus tent, amazing food from Steaks to Crab. Can't go wrong starting off with a sizzling iron skillet of mussels. The filet was perfectly cooked, medium rare and the sides dishes were just as amazing...
I drive by Bobo's every day to/from work on a touristy part of Lombard street, but recently saw it featured on "Check Please Bay Area" and it sounded really great and a locals' hangout. So we booked a table for last night at 7:00.
After a schedule change, we showed up 45 minutes early figuring it would either be packed and we could have drinks at the bar while we waited, or it would be early enough to snare an empty table.
Got there and the bar area was full, but the two main dining rooms had a single table occupied in each room. The hostess wanted us to sit at a table literally 6 inches from the other couple in a completely empty room of tables. When we asked if we could have a more private seat, the hostess said "not till 7:00."
We tried a few times to point out other options but she refused until our reservation time of 7:00PM, so we walked out. Her response in a snarky tone: "I take it that's a no?" We said "correct." and she just said happily "well, good by."
The hostess then listed us as a no-show on Open Table, so I just came here to correct that and add - we are big tippers, usually order cocktails and an expensive bottle of wine with dinner, enjoy great steaks, and sides, and with a baby sitter in Marin - would not have hogged the earlier table and probably opened up one more cover for them in the process. Hire nicer hosts who can help make an experience wonderful not awkward sitting up against some other table and skip the snooty attitude. There was no reason to treat anyone this way, especially people who arrived eager and happy to sample this restaurant.
We have many steakhouses here in Australia, of which a good proportion are excellent. However, Bobo's takes steak to another level entirely. My business partner and I were thoroughly impressed with the whole experience, but it was the cut of meat, and how it was prepared, that we most appreciated.
First time using OpenTable and came across Bobo’s while looking for a special place to celebrate our anniversary. The food was absolutely delicious from start to end and they even served a complimentary dessert for our special night! Was also seated in a intimate booth since I indicated we were celebrating a special event, so truly outstanding service! Just a tad pricey but a welcomed treat!
Their steaks are the best quality I have had in a restaurant. The bone in filet minuon is unique. The dining is cosy (slightly cramped). It was an unusually warm night in San Francisco (global warming??) and a little uncomfortable in the restaurant. However this is not a usual occurance.
We had 6 in our party and there was another party next to us talking loudly. It was difficult for us to communicate at our table.
We sat upstairs above the bar and baked for over an hour, it must have been 90* because the air conditioning was out. Everyone was melting and complaining of the heat. We asked to get the AC turned on to no avail. When we complained to mgt, he could careless about the miserable experience. The steaks would have been good if they were cooked properly, both undercooked and served raw. Sorry but I won't be back.
The food was exceptional. Service wonderful. This was a special occasion, and the staff did everything to accommodate. The Chef himself made sure that the dessert was specifically done to my specifications. Even the valet (Zack) was absolutely wonderful. I did not know about the valet parking, and we parked up the street. He actually went and drove the car to the restaurant, so it would be easier for us. So, thank you all for making the night very special. We will be back, no question about it.
This restaurant isn’t close to the best steakhouse, yet they charge like they are. The service was very good but the filet I had didn’t have much flavor and was definitely over-priced. The crab was good but again I have had better with more flavor. Not sure why it has such high ratings and all the awards. I would not go back.
Honestly food was great however service was terrible. Waiter basically rushed us through the entire thing. When he came to our table and asked to take our steak orders, we said we would like another minute, and he basically told us no. Said he had a 25 top that we should get our order in before them. We then asked the hostess and she said the 25 top was coming in later. Then when the bus boy cleared our appitiezer which was mussels and crab on a cast iron skillet with hot butter and oil, the guy spilled it down my friends neck and back. When the “manager” came over he basically mocked my friend, asking if he needed to call him an ambulance in a condescending tone. The waiter was extremely rude the rest of the dinner. Food was great but the experience was basically ruined
