Bobo's is a stylish destination for the most exquisite steak and crab in the City. With antiqued red walls, colored glass light fixtures and tablecloths, the restaurant is like a plush Venetian jewel box. Executive Chef Andrea Froncillo has created a delectable menu that showcases his signature Italian-Asian fusion. The steak is USDA certified prime beef, dry-aged four to six weeks - longer than anywhere else on the West Coast! The crab is Dungeness, harvested from the Pacific Ocean and roasted in a savory garlic-butter sauce that is positively addicting.

What a great meal and service! Lois did an AMAZING job thru-out the night, ask for her as your server! Relaxed atmosphere and delicious food, even had options for our “plant-based” diet friends.

I’d be curious to know if there are any plans for a “facelift”, at all. The physical space is well loved.

The food flavor and quality for the price was not worth it. The presentation was poor and the food was over priced. My family and I eat at quality restaurants often and do not mind paying for great tasting food with strong presentation. Bobo's failed in this department. We will not go back and will not recommend it.

Much of our food was cold. The appetizers and sides must have been pre-prepped because the Mac and cheese was so cold on the top it must have been in the fridge. The steak was fine but also warm, not hot. Drinks were good though.

I don’t really understand the hype. It was good but not great. It just didn’t blow us away as we were expecting. Interesting take on a steakhouse — sides were not typical but good selection. Bone in filet was good, had really interesting unique jus on plate, sort of caramelized maybe in brown butter. The normal filet was not tender. I think we just came of an unexpected fantastic filet (kids ordered it) the night before at The Franciscan on the Wharf, which was so incredibly flavorful and tender, perfectly cooked etc...that was so off the chart fantastic that we set ourselves up to expect a similar or better experience coming from such a high rated steakhouse... interesting vibe and warm atmosphere. Good wine selections. Friendly staff. Just wanted more... maybe we just had an off night?

Nice food and drinks. The waiter knew his stuff with a great winter recommendation. But, the place needs a new coat of paint. I was afraid to touch anything.

I recommended dining at Bobo’s for a friends’ get-together. It was my 2nd time and my friends’ 1st. We each ordered the Bone-In Filet Mignon with 1/2 order of crab. The food was absolutely amazing like I remembered it to be. My friends and I are looking forward to the next time we dine there again and hopefully it will happen very soon!

If you like really good steak, or if you love crab, this is the place for you! Two of us had dined here before, but three were new to Bobo's, and they enjoyed it immensely. One said it was the best steak she'd ever had, as good as that she's had in the mid-west.
Our only criticism was with the cheesecake. My son, my daughter-in-law, and I like dense, creamy cheesecake. This was very light - it's just a matter of taste.

Rather disappointed in the ambiance because it felt very confining. The food was good, but certainly not excellent, and the prices were too high for the overall experience. I’ll look elsewhere when I look for a good steak.

My steak was poorly cooked and felt like it had been sitting around for a while (ice cold in the center and just barely warm on the outside—I ordered it medium rare). I asked for it to be cooked just a little longer and it came back cremated. Temperature aside the steak itself was not very flavorful. It was a thicker cut, which probably contributed to some of this. For a $65 steak (before tax, tip, sides, etc.), that’s pretty poor.

The selection of sides is weak (e.g., only one potato-based dish.) The decor is tacky, dated, and cheap. And the whole smells faintly of crab.

Food was good but not outstanding. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare, but my wife's ribeye was overcooked to at least medium well, sent back, then undercooked to bloody rare. I expected better from a place known for steaks. The mussels we shared with the table before the meal were outstanding, though. Recommend avoiding the shrimp or crab unless you're ready to put in some work extracting the edible parts. Service was great and attentive. The price was a bit on the high side for the ambience and quality of the food, but not unreasonable for San Francisco. The upstairs has a nice view of Lombard Street where you can people watch while eating. Overall, I'd recommend trying it if you like seafood or steak and are in the North Beach area of San Francisco.

1. We all ordered aged steak. Meat quality were the lousiest one that I ever had. Two of us ordered Medium rare, but came with medium well.
2. Service was horrible. Waiter just throw desert menu to us and said nothing.
3. potato and mushroom were OK .
I rather spend a little more money to Ruth Chris or other steak house.

We had a 7 pm reservation for 4. We arrived on time. We were seated 40 minutes late. That 40 minutes we waited was spent standing because there was no seating. The restaurant had very noticeably overbooked the place. We were very uncomfortable. We finally got seated and had reasonable service and food. Right as the server was placing desert menus the manager approached our table to ask us if we wouldn’t mind having desert at the bar because he wants to seat our table! And this after we were seated 40 minutes late? You’ve got to be kidding! It was offensive to me. Management really needs to rethink their approach to booking, overbooking and how they treat customers. I won’t be going back.

I guess, we got a bit lucky when we went to this restaurant. I was able to find parking in just a few minutes and we didn't have to wait for table for more than 10 minutes. Overall, the dining experience was very positive. Our waiter was very good and knew his job, which was reflected in our generous tip. The food came pretty fast too. The only cons are:
- the place is bit too dark
- the noise level is quite high
- there is a very strong smell throughout the restaurant and it is quite repelling, but your nose gets used to it in about 15 minutes and you stop noticing it
- all of the food was quite good, though the mussels tasted bad. I don't know, maybe they are supposed to taste like this, but I couldn't possibly eat them.
- it is a bit pricy, but I guess for San Francisco nowadays it would considered normal.
The only reasons I might not go back there is the smell and the price. If I am paying that much money, the restaurant should at least not smell.

All of us ordered steaks. The were the best quality I have had, superior to the high end chain steak houses. Side dishes were also very good. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. The ambiance is that of a classic steak house. Eating here is not inexpensive but I can say that compared to most of the restaurants I’ve been to I can actually remember what I ate at Bobo’s.

I highly recommend this restaurant if you want a truly excellent steak.

I noticed and overheard the hostess offer to take the couples coat and hang it up as she seated the couple ahead of us . When my date and I were seated we were not offered that same accommodation although we clearly had large/heavy coats and I was carrying a large bag. I was not pleased with the lack of consideration/oversight. Secondly, I ordered the garlic-roasted crab but failed to taste any garlic and the crab was dry and over-cooked. Other than those two things, everything else was fine. I'll end with the space was nice and cozy.

We had the petite filet mignon with a whole crab that the two of shared. The steak, ordered Medium Rare, was perfectly cooked and tasted awesome. It was served bare and alone on a plate, though, so be ready for that type of presentation.
Our server was attentive and very experienced, though every sentence felt scripted. Nevertheless, the service was without flaws.

I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary. The seats we got with reservations was horrible that sat us in the bar area. People were just crowding around us jus to be in this small area . And the price of the food didn’t make sense considering the environment and setting . I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We came from Las Vegas visiting for Valentine's Day and decided upon this place for dinner, because of the reviews on Yelp. I made reservations 2 months earlier for 7:15. When we got there at 7:10, the hostess told me they were running really late behind, so we could sit at the bar which was right behind the hostess stand. The bar was packed and there was only a side table to sit at. People were standing all over the bar like sardines. Wait staff that were passing us, and people in the bar with food, would hit the tables (that we were sitting on) or we would have to duck not to be hit by the trays. We finally got sat at 8:15 (an hour later). I ordered a filet mignon and crab legs. I've honestly had better at Outback Steakhouse. I was so excited to come here and experience great San Francisco dining, but customer service and food were very disappointing. My advice, go somewhere else and spend your money on food and ambiance that is worth it. Don't believe the hype, because celebrity pictures are posted.

We ordered a medium new Yorker and a mussel and shrimp. The steak was OK but expected something more juicier. The mussel is bad, some of them aren't fresh, some of them are overcooked(burnt and dried) wouldn't recommend it at all.

Best steak hands down. Super Bone in filet was so tasty. Lobster Mac n cheese was super good too. Sat upstairs and it was quiet but it was an early dinner.

I've been to Bobo's with the guys and loved it so much that I had to bring my wife to share!!! I took advantage of Valentines Day and brought my wife the Saturday before for a romantic dinner. The table we sat at was a little small for two people but we made the best of it. Started off with a Grey Goose Martini, straight up, extra dirty with three olives....... the bartender hit the mark!!! The Martini was terrific!! Next up were appetizers: We ordered the Filet al crudo which is prepared at table side. Let me say that's one of my favorite appetizers ever!!! My wife was a little reluctant in trying raw egg yolk and raw meat (tar tar) but after building up a little courage (and luck) she loved the appetizer, we also ordered the crispy crab cakes and without the cranberry relish, they would be just crab cakes. The cranberries really kicked off the dish! Next was the apple, walnut sun-dried cranberries salad with a vinaigrette and it didn't let us down. The salad was crisp (wedge style cut) with blue cheese and a tasty vinaigrette along with candied walnuts. It was very refreshing.....
Then came the pie'ce de resistance!!! Filet Mingon for my wife and Bone in Filet Mignon for me..... both cuts were cooked to our liking and were tender and tasty. Aged to perfection. The sides were ModMac and Brussel Sprouts which were terrific. I brought a bottle of estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon from Crooked Vine (Livermore Valley) and it shined with the steak. Overall we will be visiting Bobo's again very soon!!!

It was good but not great and I wouldnt go back. Steak was luke warm, crab was fishy, waiter was so so. Cute ambiance and nice valet parking offered. Very expensive for the quality. Not my favorite steakhouse experience.

The food was very good. The steak was cooked perfectly and the crab was delicious. A little pricier that I remember but we left happy. The twice cooked potatoes are a must get. I'd probably skip the lobster soup next time and try the shrimp as an appetizer instead. Ambiance is dark and intimate.
