About Bobo's

Bobo's is a stylish destination for the most exquisite steak and crab in the City. With antiqued red walls, colored glass light fixtures and tablecloths, the restaurant is like a plush Venetian jewel box. Executive Chef Andrea Froncillo has created a delectable menu that showcases his signature Italian-Asian fusion. The steak is USDA certified prime beef, dry-aged four to six weeks - longer than anywhere else on the West Coast! The crab is Dungeness, harvested from the Pacific Ocean and roasted in a savory garlic-butter sauce that is positively addicting.

The service was exceptional! Very friendly. Ordered the bone in rib eye , bone in filet mignon, twice baked potato, and Brussel sprouts. Ribeye was pretty fatty yet flavorful, filet was delicious, potatoe was somewhat cold, and the sprouts were somewhat soggy. Enjoyed our meal but wouldn’t go again for the price we paid.

Food was amazing, couldn't have asked for a more attentive waiter/great. The only thing that I would mention that you are so close to the table next to you it is a little uncomfortable.

Visited Bobos a few years ago and was thrilled so I was really looking forward to going back. Unfortunately they sat us right next to a very, very loud couple who was using extremely ignorant and vulgar language. Evening ruined. I don’t blame the restaurant entirely...they can’t totally control the behavior of their customers. However, it was obvious there was a problem when we arrived so I feel they could have sat us somewhere else (the other side of the restaurant was empty).

Our waiter never asked how we were, introduced his name or asked if we wanted a drink. First questions was, do you want a appetizer. You had a guy with shorts on a baseball hat in the main dinning room. If you our paying this much $$$ you would expect that the front door folks would ask them a least to remove the hat

Stay for the steak but don’t go for the crab, as a lover of all things crab, Dungeness, king, blue, etc. The crab was was pretty much decimated by salt and over cooking in the broiler. the extensive garlic would have been ok, except for the previous two issues I mentioned so it will never be known if I would like Dungeness with extensive garlic. Having said that the portion was reasonable.

Very disappointing. For the price we paid I expected much more. The waiter tried to rush us through dinner even though there was hardly anyone there. I had the ribeye which was good. However the side dishes were mediocre. We had the potato which looked frozen. The mushrooms were good. Brussels sprouts ok. Would not go back

We were visiting from Dallas and it was recommended by friends who found this great place. We celebrated our anniversary and would go back again. Steaks very tender and the portebella mushrooms awesome.

Our filet mignon was good and the general experience would have been decent if I hadn't stupidly agreed to take the table near the entrance door. By the time our food was on the table customers began going in and out and the cold December draft was pretty bad and it kinda was too late to ask to be moved. I think customers who made reservations, or any customers really, should not be placed right near the door. There are curtains that are supposed to protect you but of course they are never closed because it would interfere with the waiters going through. Two better tables were available the entire evening but never were offered to us.

The steak is excellent , be prepared to pay accordingly. The app and side dishes are limited, but tasty. Decor is element with a bit of quirky fun. It’s a three level house type seating with stripes on the wall.
Valet parking makes this very accessible.

We had our Christmas dinner here and it did not disappoint. We made reservations and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, but were rewarded with a great able upstairs where we were out of the crowd waiting to be seated. Our server made some excellent wine selections for us which paired well with both the crab and the bone in filets. All the food was delicious starting with the salad and garlic bread and finishing with dessert (something that looked like upside down mini ice cream cones filled with mousse). We did not feel rushed and we had a memorable holiday meal with our two adult children.

Everything is good until we have a sense of feeling that the waiter doesn’t want us to stay there for too long. That day bay bridge traffic was horrible and the host is nice enough to change our time from 5:45 to 6:30, thank her to accommodate that. Food is good, love the yam and portobello mushroom, porter house steak, and blood orange sorbet. Tried the Malbec as well. Just could be a busy day for the waiter, understandable.

Most disappointed by the quality and preparation of the steak. Medium rare bone-in t-bone was delivered basically raw.

Service upstairs was poor- we were left alone. 50 minutes until we received bread. Apps and salads delivered at the same time.

The food is great but you're definitely rushed out. For an average of $150 a head you should definitely feel like you can finish your coffee without feeling like you're bothering the server. I've waited tables so I pay close attention to the service I get and I can honestly say I've never had a server take the bill away before my party leaves the table. He was also short with us, unattentive, rude, and completely unfriendly.

Again, for a delicious and expensive meal the overall experience should be an excellent one; not a fair one.

Took my son here while in SFO. I don't eat a lot of meat, but I heard the steaks were great and I wasn't disappointed. We ordered two sides which were good, not great. The presentation of the seafood at the table was impressive. Seemed like a good place to take a date -- it was small, low light, not loud and the service was very good.

too expensive for the value.
Food-wise: Filet mignon was good. Ceasar salad was too small. "strawberry cheesecake" wasn't a cheesecake, it was just a cake.
Ambiance-wise, the ceilings are low and the colors are dark, so it was a bit claustrophobic.

Bobo's is a decent traditional Steakhouse. The steaks were large, and well done, but very expensive. The side dishes were relatively small for the price. There are a lot of places to choose from for steak, so this would not be one of my top choices.

The venue looks amazing, especially on ground floor and the service was friendly enough. However, the food is very average and not worth the money. The prawns was the biggest disappointment - they looked fantastic on that hot pan but tasted oily and the dipping sauce did not help. No, I can't see myself returning. A few of my friends went next door to Bobo's Burger and would say that they made a better choice.

Wait person Renaud was excellent! Continental style, yet friendly and relaxed; efficient without being pushy. You should see him open a bottle of wine....the foil at the very top of the wine bottle gets cut and bent so the vintner's name is turned sideways then more of the foil is delicately cut, twisted and folded so that the cork can sit in a foil cradle nestled next to and parallel with the top stem of the wine bottle. Somewhat hard to describe....you have to see him do it in person and he made it look so easy. Oh....and the food. Obviously delicious, we have been to Bobo's five times before and will continue to return.
