About Bobbys Deerfield
General Manager: Ana-Maria Gherghely
Bobby’s Deerfield is based loosely on our other location Café Lucci which we have developed since 1995. Similar to Café Lucci, Bobby’s Deerfield will serve as a true neighborhood locale, marked by our signature personal service and unmatched friendly atmosphere. However, Bobby’s Deerfield will be a more casual eatery, completely accessible in every way. Reminiscent of the iconic, nostalgic neighborhood restaurant of yesteryear, Bobby’s Deerfield will bring graciousness back to dining out, in a simple way, by turning out the best product and best service.

Bobbys Deerfield Ratings and Reviews
Bobby’s, as usual, was excellent this visit. The extensive menu provided a challenge to choose what to order. Food and drinks were efficiently served and nicely presented. Appetizers and meals were delicious. The decor and ambience were comfortable. Our waitress seemed to be a college kid who showed up for her first shift. What she lacked in professionalism she made up for with natural pleasantness and service orientation. Though noteworthy, this did not detract from the overall excellence of the experience.
The waiter took such a long time to get to us. He will popped up just to tell us that we weren’t forgotten but we were. I had to wait 10 minutes after my dish was brought to get cheese. I had good experiences in the past, but yesterday made me doubt coming back. I understand that is Saturday night, but Bobby’s should be prepared for that!
We did not have a good experience for the first time there. We ordered a salad with chicken and they forgot to add the chicken . She never came back so we had to eat it without the chicken. She also forgot to bring crab cakes for my friends appetizer so she had to eat it with dinner when we complained. The waitress was Bonnie and she said sorry but did not offer anything. Very disssapointed with the evening at Bobbie’s.
I love bringing first-time visitors to Bobby’s and hear them ooh and ahh over the menu. The food exceeded their expectations and they already want to come back and try the dishes they didn’t choose this time. The phrasing of food was a little clunky—our appetizers were delivered when we were only half-way through with soups/salads, mains came out before we were done with the appetizers. The wait staff, as always, was great. I love this place.
We chose Bobby's Deerfield for a family birthday party, including a grandchild and parents. We had a corner booth, perfect for the five of us, and began with wine and appetizers which were excellent. The entrée choices were quite varied and, at least for the five of us, uniformly perfectly done and served. My choice was the double stuffed pork chop, and my grandson had the New York strip steak which he finished totally and pronounced perfect, garnished with mushrooms and shrimp. That was one of the stars of the new (at least to us) steak and chops menu. We enjoyed the service and the evening, and this may be one of the best dining spots in this suburb.
Not a very friendly environment, we had to wait to go to our table because our party was not complete, I can understand this.
But nobody was asking us anything just the curt message that we had to wait.
Service was very slow and not very attentive as a result of that.
We have been to Bobby's several times and usually enjoy the meal. This time we did not enjoy the food as much. I ordered one of the specials, spaghetti with sea scallops. THe spaghetti was rather tasteless. The 4 sea scallops were cut in half which was not necessary to do and made it appear like there were too many on the plate. Normally, 3 to 4 scallops are sufficient. Nobody serves 8 scallops. My husband had chicken Marsala served with cauliflower. The meal was unappetizing as the plate was filled with "white" food. A better choice would have been a green vegetable. The chicken was on the tough side and this could have been prevented with proper preparation.
We like the atmosphere and in summer, the outside dining is nice.
The veal scampi was outstanding! The eggplant parm was sliced nice and thin. The crab cakes are a very generous portion. The arugula salad was fresh and a generous portion and had a delicious dressing.
My only complaint is that they have a restaurant policy not to substitute. The scampi comes with a veggie side (I wasn't aware) and when the brussel sprouts came out I asked if I could have a side of pasta instead and was told that they don't sub. When the owner came by, I told him about the situation and he agreed that is the policy but had a side of pasta brought out. Really?? A side of pasta is cheaper than brussel sprouts so what's the big deal? Isn't the objective to make the customer happy so they come back? They did come through but why put the customer in that position if it's a reasonable request. I would go back but will be prepared and ask about the sides when I order and fight the fight if I have to.
