Boatyard Ratings and Reviews
Everything was great but we were celebrating my girlfriends birthday and I had made a note of it through the app but the ball was dropped once we got there I had to inform
The waiters (who were both outstanding) that it was and they apologized and brought her a small birthday desert. Not a bad experience at all just attention to detail as far as why have a section asking about special occasions in open table if no one pays attention to it?
We have long been fans of the Boatyard in its previous incarnation, but its updated concept, decor and attention to ingredients really raises the level of experience at this restaurant. From the capable hostesses who tend to guests as they arrive: on the evening we were there, there was a large party, a couple with a dog, guests arriving for a private special event, and us - we were warmly welcomed, directed to the bar until our table was ready, and seated promptly. Our server Darlene was extraordinary: knowledgeable, attentive and genuinely nice as well. We travel from Boston to Ft Lauderdale several times a year, and a visit to Boatyard is always on our list of faves. In Boston there’s a well-known place “where everybody knows your name” - at Boatyard we may not be on a first-name basis, but we feel welcomed like we are local friends.
Service is great , people couldn’t be nicer and food is good. We were there for brunch and my friends thought that the restaurant was wonderful . The waitress , Casey was so accommodating and the chef taught me how to make his great poached eggs . It was my daughter ‘s Birthday and she was very happy that we went there
We had a 12:00 reservation. We did not get our food until after 1pm. Our server reeked of alchohol and was out of it.
No one ever stopped by the table to ask how things were. We did not see any managers during our 2 hour meal! If they were there it was not evident.
Nice location but very disappointed.
This is a regular atop for us, but tonight was especially good.
Our server was Kristine. She was attentive, insightful, friendly, but not intrusive.
we are regulars here, so our expectations are high. Kristine mad e the evening memorable.
The steaks and sea food here are very hard to beat in south Florida.
Noise level inside is high
Requested for outside on res ( which they don’t confirm ) and got there early to request in person before my guests arrived. Said it was a 2 hr wait for outside. So we sat inside and noticed several outside tables empty. Mentioned this to the staff who said there were people waiting. 15 mins later still no one sitting in them. My guest went back to front desk and pointed this out and lo and behold there was no longer anyone “waiting” for those tables and we sat outside and had a lovely day.
After reading some of the great reviews we had high expectations, and to be fair, the food was good. However for all the hype, it was just too expensive! $30 and up for a bottle of local red is taking the Mick, but even a Bloody Mary and a Gin and Tonic were over $20!
We sat outside so you needed to eat pretty quickly or your food went cold on you. Light level was on the low side, so one of the senses, sight, used in the enjoyment of food, was greatly reduced! There were no complimentary breads or bread rolls for the table, in fact there was no complimentary anything apart from a jug of water. What's happened to the famous American portion size? As a starter we had a sharing platter of octopus, which was indeed delicious, but frankly would have been a starter for one in many UK restaurants. My wife had a 8oz Flat Iron steak (a cheap cut), a small pot of Bernaise sauce, some rather greasy new potatoes, whilst I had a Florida Paella (delicious). Chuck a couple of medium sized prawns each on top of that and the damage, including a 10% gratuity came to a dollar or two shy of $170
The food was excellent and we were able to get a table outside. However we were not aware that there is smoking outside. Toward the end of our meal 2 groups of smokers ended up near our table. They were just bar patrons standing up. We had to leave and weren’t able to try dessert as we had hoped. We are just super sensitive to smoke. But everything else was perfect.
Our waiter Danny was awesome. Very attentive! The food was delicious. My son and I had the omelette and my wife had the huevos rancheros as well as our cousin that was dining with us. We all enjoyed it. The bloody mary bar and mimosa bar was incredible. So many varieties! We would definitely go back! Can't beat the view either!
Our second time here for Sunday Brunch fun and delicious. We were a group of 5. Our daughter had a cheese omelet and enjoyed it, then there was a split of 3 Egg Benedicts and an Omelet. Our guests found the Benedicts to be overdone and the potatoes to be cold. Our waiter was great and replaced the potatoes. A filled coffee cup was soiled and our waiter corrected that and apologized for not noticing it before he delivered it to us. It was a beautiful day, the boat show was in town and the restaurant was VERY busy. That said while there were problems the issues were resolved quickly. Parking valet service was also oversubscribed and just like in the restaurant they made everything work as best it could on a busy day. Overall not as good an experience as our first visit; however the issues were mostly driven by lots of customers appearing at the same time, the issues were resolved quickly and that favorable reaction is also how you judge a good restaurant that cares for the customer experience. We will be back. Lastly, one odd matter, no toast?? Our guests thought it odd that with eggs there was no toast offered.
