Delicious, fresh, local ingredients. Great ceviche, unique salads (try the beet salad) and excellent wine list
Our waitress Robin was great.
Not my favorite brunch spot - not laid out well and the whole chip system is just weird. Just my opinion.
One of the best brunches in Fort Lauderdale!
Looking for a special place to spend a wedding anniversary dinner, I looked for a place with an outside area and a view. Additionally to that, I also looked for a seafood restaurant.
Our surprise, for my wife and myself, was to find the three wishes.
Personnel was very friendly and made us feel welcome. They accommodated a table outside, with a precious view on a canal of the Intercoastal, with sailboats, yachts On this canal.
Our host, Laura was very courteous, offering specials of the day, and variety of drinks and cocktails.
As starters we had delicious calamari with a special sauce, very fresh. We then ordered a crispy salmon and a Florida Paela, mainly composed of fish and seafood.
And to accompany the meal Champagne Perrier Jouet at avery reasonable price,
And to finish, a double scoopof ice cream, Dulce de leche and chocolate with hazelnuts.
Great ambiance, great music, great service !!!
Second time at the restaurant, quite nice. My only complaint is that tipping is discretionary and I believe that waiters should respect this point, it’s should not be that they point or set the machine to a percentage they think they deserve; by doing this they only challenge my resolve to demonstrate that it’s my discretion.
The food and service were exceptional, as always. However, the noise level was such that we couldn't hold a conversation with a table of 4. That's truly the only drawback. No one's fault, just so busy, which is great for the restaurant.
Love the place, the view & the food! Our waiter was super nice & made the best recomendations! We will definitely go back again!
Albert was an outstanding server and the salmon was very good
Great location all around. Food, view, and atmosphere all great!
Yesterday was my wife's significant 55th birthday. I selected the Boatyard from the reviews and menu. I booked a reservation on Opentable and put in the notes that it was my wife's 55th birthday. I also noted that I would like a view outside. I promptly received with the confirmation that an outside table reservation was not going to happen that reservations on Open table are for "inside only". Our reservation was for 7:15pm. We were seated at 7:55 or 40 minutes late. After putting a note on the reservation about my wife's birthday not one single person at the restaurant wished her a Happy Birthday or offered a complimentary anything. The total bill was $150 for two which is expensive in my book. The food was delicious, but the wait and service was horrible. Half way through the meal the original server disappeared and another server took over saying " the other server is overwhelmed so I'm your new server". Overall disappointing for the price and occasion.
I was impressed from the moment I sat down at the bar. The bartender was fine with the fact I was waiting for a friend and not ordering anything. He then asked me if I wanted an ice water as I was waiting.
Our server Alex, was helpful, knowledgeable, and not pushy about what to order. He came by twice to check on us, without being intrusive.
The fish was incredibly tasty and fresh. The sauce did not overpower the quality of the fish. Nor did it have to mask a multitude of sins.
Would have liked a more diverse or interesting selection of sides. That was my only weakness I could come up with.
Absolutely, will return on my next trip and refer it to friends and associates as a must hit.
Great ambience ! Consistent good food ! Stellar service!
Saturday dinner at the Boatyard was fantastic! We had made a reservation using Open Table, of course, and they sat us in a beautiful table by the window overlooking the water. Within minutes the server was at our table congratulating us on our anniversary. From the Seafood Paella to the Seared Tuna, the food was exceptional and the service was outstanding! I have seen some negative reviews of the Boatyard but from our experience, (we go there every 3-4 months), it was awesome as always and never disappoints!
Fantastic. Excellent food. Excellent Place. For those who enjoy boat
This restaurant has become one of our favorite places, they have great atmosphere, great food great Sunday brunch too.
Great fish. Booked through Open Table. Hostess did not understand instructions for a window table (We have been there enough times to get one at least once - never have). One person was in a wheelchair and they put us at a banquette on one side. Not really doable. Once we entered dining room, we asked for a table which we got, but no window as usual.
Fantastic meal and service! We all enjoyed the ambiance of the place! Steaks were great! Crab cake got a thumbs up from my picky daughter. Florida Paella was phenomenal! Would definitely recommend!
Great place for dinner. Indoors absolutely too loud. Outdoors great place. Food excellent.
We went on Thursday night, it was lady's night. Great place to socialize.
The octopus appetizer was fantastic- sautéed with kale and garbanzo beans with a flavor that we couldn't quite place, and it was delicious! We also had the grouper and it was cooked to perfection! Our server, Miguel, was pleasant and saw to our needs.
Very accommodating especially with our two dogs. We dined outside which was perfect. Boatyard is by far my favorite restaurant in Fort Lauderdale
Have been here several times and the food is always solid. LOVE the filthy cosmos and 1/2 price bottles of wine on Tuesdays. Ambiance is very nice considering the relatively large size of the restaurant. Last server we had was Donald who was an absolute GEM! Def in our rotation.
Overall very good. A lot of flies though if you sit outside
Our uber driver recommended this restaurant so we took a chance after reading the reviews. There was some confusion right when we walked in with front staff having a disagreement amongst each other which was an awkward welcome but after 15 minutes we were seated outside. We were seated in a booth one row in from the water so not much of a view. There was a very loud party behind us dancing all over the deck and shouting so we asked to be relocated as we couldn't hear the server or each other. Smoking is also permitted outside so be warned. Our concerns were promptly addressed and we were moved to a lovely table beside a tree and the water. The waiters to the manager were very attentive to our concerns and the situation was handled discreetly and professionally. The service was of good quality and non intrusive and the food was good. The grouper picatta was light and flavorful and the Bimini bread was a treat. We also ordered the crab cake and calamari which was ok but not as memorable as the grouper. The Caesar salad was also surprisingly flavorful and crisp. The watermelon jalapeno cocktail was excellent and a welcome treat after moving our table. We ordered the s'mores dessert which was creative but the chocolate was very strong for some in our party but others loved it. Prices seemed higher than other similar restaurants we visited in the area. Watch when you sit as someone had placed bright blue gum on the seat during brunch and it was all over my daughter's calf so she spent the majority of the meal trying to scrape it off and not really enjoying the meal. Luckily her clothes were not ruined. Although not their fault, the manager offered to cover our bread and a drink for the inconvenience so again they were attentive. Overall it was an ok experience despite the screaming patrons and gum, with some menu standouts, excellent waiters and nice ambiance if you get the right seat outside by the tree area.
Food was outstanding, as always. It's expensive, but the food is the highest quality and worth the price. Service was excellent.
Great service and great food!! One of our favorite sports! The raw bar is the best there! Fresh!
Food and service were excellent!
Crab cake appetizer delicious as well as the pan sauté grouper in picata sauce was excellent!
And the warm honey drizzled Bimini bread great!
Poor service/fantastic food! Although I had made my reservation weeks in advance, I was initially seated at the worst table in the restaurant by service station and food pick-up station. I was then moved to a nice table with view of marina. Waited over 20 minutes for waitress to arrive at table. My initial drink order was incorrect. Then my soup came before my correct drink arrived. My meal was fantastic/perfectly prepared and presented. Had to wait for a very long time for plates to be cleared and then for the check. Then, the bill was incorrect. Took forever to get that resolved.
I met a friend for dinner at Boatyard and we hadn't realized it was half-priced wine evening. The wine was great, the food was great and the energy was not what we had expected for a Tuesday evening during the off-season!
The restaurant is very pretty. My fish was dry. It is in bad taste to charge very high prices for a meal, everything is alacarte, and then to charge for bread. Not very nice.
Wonderful experience! Great service! And great food. Thank you for the great evening.
The food was really good. The service was pretty good too, but the only reason I give it 4 stars is because the bar service was extremely slow (maybe it was the waitress).
I ordered a beer and it took about 12 minutes (well after I was done eating) to get it.
The waitress was very friendly however.
The food was very good though.
High energy, annoying DJ music that bleeds from their outside. Beautiful decor.
Fantastic! We heard it was good and it exceeded expectations
Very disappointed in the food. Prices are high. One of the dishes the fish wasn't cooked all the way through. The waiter was not very patient and felt rushed when ordering he was short with his answers. Overall disappointing experience
Wish we would have known it was ladies’ night ... worst decision for a date night. We expected to have an enjoyable evening and instead were surrounded by a very random, eclectic crowd. Nearly $200 later we weren’t wowed by he food, it was fair. The steak lacked seasoning and the Grouper Piccata was great until you made it to the center of the dish - pool of salt.
The water melon / jalapeño craft cocktail was every bit delicious! 🤷🏼♀️😉
Cigarette smoke blowing in my face while eating a meal totaling $200. I don’t think so. It is 2018 Florida - in case you didn’t know smoking causes cancer. No one wants to smell smoke while eating fresh seafood. Yuck yuck yuck
Just perfect! I’d originally booked a table for 4 at 7.30pm and then at the last minute I needed to increase to 8 people... the hostess was polite and helpful and changed the time to 8.30pm to accommodate us all (which worked perfectly)
The service, food, ambiance was spectacular and well worth our flight from D.C. for Father’s Day! Thank you x
The restaurant was surprisingly not busy although it was Father’s Day . I asked for an outside table and was told because it was a reservation we couldn’t have one although there were empty tables outside. We had a terrific server who was personable and attentive. The apps came out quickly and were very good so I was looking forward to a good meal as well. I ordered the salmon on a salad of greens with strawberries. The salmon was good although not cooked as I had ordered it. The strawberries were mushy and had a foul smell, the greens looked like they had seen fresher days and there were 2 candied nuts in the whole salad. My son ordered grilled shrimp which wasn’t edible due to being so badly charred. My daughter ordered the Tuna tacos she loved them. My husband ordered the tuna he ordered it medium and it came rare. We don’t complain and didn’t send anything back however I’m not sure we will ever return to the restaurant. To spend more than 150 for dinner I expected more out of the preparation and quality of the food.
This is my second time to Boatyard but first Sunday brunch. Well I was very disappointed with the menu and “ brunch selection which only comprised of an omelette station!!! I have never seen so many egg selections in my life on a menu. There was very limited meat selection, do not go there expecting steak or salmon entrees. The menu is extremely limited and the quality of food very average. I don’t know what has changed since my first visit but I left feeling very disappointed. The restaurant was packed being that it was Father’s Day so I’m sure others loved it.
