Food is good. Service is bad and slow. Manager protects his employees instead of acknowledging and apologizing to customers who experience issues in service. Half of female staff are unpleasant and seem unhappy working there. Male staff are slow but pleasant.
The o my downside to our day was a women was literally chain smoking on the patio and since we had already placed our order we couldn’t move . So our yummy drinks and food were ruined by the constant smell of cigarettes . So much for sitting outside and getting fresh air
Great service and fresh food
The food and ambience were amazing. Our server was fantastic.
Good rating this time because the NY Strip steak was fatty, my Grouper Frances was excellent. Our server amazing
Birthday meal was good and waiter was hospitable.
We made a reservation and although it was pretty full we were seated pretty quickly. While walking to the table couldn't help to notice that my shoes where slipping and sliding from all the grease residue on the dirty floor. The brunch menu is okay, nothing outstanding. I opted for the omelette station which i ended up waiting like 10 minutes ( even with no one in front of me ). The omelette was good and very generous. We also opted for the limitless mimosa bar. You have to wait for the server to bring you a chip everytime you want to get a refill. ITS DO IT YOURSELF WHEN EVER THE SERVER LETS YOU.... Probably wont be going back but it was an average experience.
Great food and great service (as always)! We came here to celebrate my mother’s birthday and she absolutely loved the food and he key lime pie!
Friends wanted to get together for brunch, and while I've had less than stellar past experiences at Boatyard, I agreed and we made the reservation. My brunch experience turned out to be what I've come to expect from this restaurant. I feel that they are "proud" of their food in the prices they are asking, and the quality of the food is ok, but not to my mind worth the price. I had come in expecting a brunch buffet, and it was a menu. I chose the eggs benedict bar, and here, while the concept is interesting (making it fresh for you at the moment you order it, vs having it pre-prepared) execution was a bit sub par. Having two people at the station would have helped things immensely. We all basically ate our breakfast one at a time. When we got home without prompting, my girlfriend said "well that was disappointing". I think that sums up my comments exactly. Great location, friendly staff, but the food and the price for what you get continues to let this place down.
The clam Manhattan soup at MP was a rip off. Where were the clam. There was 1000% more potatoes than clams.
our server was real and lovely- fast and friendly service.
The service was shocking! I’ve been to the boat yard several times and this was by far the worst service I’ve received.
The waiter was not attentive at all
Our mains came 10 minutes after our starters
The credit card machine they brought to the table did not work!
Food was great as usual! Big high five to the kitchen!
Excellent food, ocean to table, excellent service
It's difficult to find great service and food at 10:30PM. We did not have great expectations but the Boatyard delivered just that: great food and very nice service. Highly recommend specially if you are in the mood for fresh fish and great seafood.
Sadly disappointed. Entered with great anticipation and expectations based on reviews. Liked the ambiance and the hostess was very good. Took three attempts before the “right” server came to our table. The previous 2 servers were very amiable and professional. After ordering the crab claw starter ut took another 45 minutes to bring us the petite fillet and the paella. Both meals were 100% bland and boring. Does the chef even taste the food before serving? No complaints about the presentation of the food but, the rest was sub standard diner quality.
To be be fair, our server Terry told me he would take it back and the chef would fix it. Having waited 45minutes, i was convinced the chef would simply add seasoning that should have been there in the first place (cooking 101). Secondly i was not prepared to wait another 45 minutes or take reheated seasoned food that would have lead to over cooking.
Sorry guys but this was a major fail that cost me over $150. If you follow the basics, combined with the excellent creativity of the executive chef, we may consider a second visit in the future. Do we have to bring our own salt and pepper?
The salmon with couscous was one of the best meals i have ever had.
Lousy service and it wasn't even crowded! Food is way overpriced
Great food, great service, great location - couldn't ask for more!
Absoloutely fantastic food with exemplary service from a lovely Mancunian lady! Food was delicious, try the chicken!
All in all, brilliant.
Great food and service. Getting good patio seating is somtimes difficult. We will be back.
It is beautiful out on the deck overlooking the water. The fish I ordered was perfectly cooked and the apple tart dessert with ice cream was delicious. The waitress was spot on.
We came here to celebrate a birthday. Despite putting in notes for a candle with dessert AND asking 2xs at restaurant they brought out dessert with no candle. It was disappointing. They did bring out the wrong salad and food with no silverware, but rectified quickly. The food was delicious. Gabriel was attentive and very nice just wish they had better communication for a special occasion.
The server was fantastic. Ordered the brussel sprouts app and it was not the same dish as presented in the menu. No kimchi or lime leaves but had shaved bonito flakes on it. Good, but not as advertised. Would hate to it it sent back by another customer.
We were expecting more types of healthy fish sandwiches.
Made a reservation a week in advance and requested a window seat indoors. Got an inside booth by the kitchen, an hour wait for anything else. The noise level was incredibly high and made conversation difficult. Ordered a grouper picatta special $37, the bronzino $36, and simply grilled grouper $33 which I ordered. Food took 35 minutes and we had to ask about it once. When the food came, the first two were excellent. The simply grilled grouper was absolutely hammered. Very prominent grill marks all over that made it look almost blackened. I was with my 80-year-old parents who I don't see often, and didn't want to make a stink, so I just sucked it up, didn't say anything and ate the way overdone grouper. The wait staff in general were very young and ours seemed very inexperienced. Earlier in the week, we went to Truluck's and had an absolutely amazing experience from the reception to the waiter to the food. Based on the awful food and bad overall dining experience at Boatyard, we will not return.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere outside patio
Great service, great food will definitely return.
Love love love! I take my wife there several times a month. In cooler Sunday afternoons we sit outside on the dock for lunch. We highly recommend.
The Boatyard always succeeds in checking all of our boxes. Our server Pricilla was excellent throughout the meal. She was extremely attentive, informative and funny at the same time. The quality of the food is always excellent with a great selection to please everyone’s palate.
Went for brunch with my parents who came to town, it wasn’t crowded but we were seated next to a large party that were having inappropriate conversations and extremely noisy. Food on menu all sounded delicious yet it was tasteless and bland. Server was ok. Very disappointed since the ambiance is fantastic but for the price you pay we will not be coming back.
Excellent. Was visiting from out of town and both Service and Food were exceptional. Will definitely return when in the area again.
Everything is perfect. Only complaint is food comes out to fast, no time to enjoy courses. I would like 5-10 minutes after appetizer, before the main course comes.
Disappointing. Read other reviews about the wonderful food and great Bimini bread and decided to try this restaurant for the first time..sadly my experience was less than stellar. Bimini bread seemed like it had been placed in a microwave to warm up as the crust and interior was rather dry - not tasty at all. Expected more variety of seafood on the menu. Except for the pumpkin flan for dessert, none of our dishes were memorable. For the price we spent, we left feeling like we could have gone to a chain restaurant like Bonefish or Seasons 52 and gotten a better meal.
Great Grouper, on the water.
Ordered the kale salad with chicken. The chicken had the consistency of cold cut slice chicken and the salad tasted very bitter / not at all like kale salad.
Everything was great. Food was delicious and promptly served and Loraine our sever was delightful and knowledgeable. Only down fall was that we were celebrating our ten year anniversary and no one recognized our special day.
The food, service and ambiance were perfect! Going to the Boatyard was the highlight of the visit to Ft. Lauderdale. This place is absolutely worth a visit for great sea food and a cool atmosphere!
Nice setting with outside bar and yachts on the canal behind. There was a rowdy crowd of young people with two dogs that barking and having territorial issues that was a little disconcerting. We were able to set in the dock and enjoy some quiet conversation before having dinner inside. Overall food and experience was pleasant even with the distractions early in the evening.
We sat our table for a long time before a waitress came to our table. The food was good but the server was mediocre.
