The food was great, the atmosphere was nice, but our server, Robin was the best!
She helped us choose a specialty cocktail, starter and entree. I wish we could have a server like her at every restaurant we dine at!
Beautiful place inside and out!!! Tasty drinks delicious entrees.. service was on point, personable and quick without feeling rushed
When booking I revealed the dinner was a very special occasion for me and my 2 daughters. However, upon arrival at the hostess stand, we weren’t greeted appropriately plus they tried to seat us in the far corner table behind the bar area. We would be the only party in that room. I asked for a table in another area and was offered a small corner seat for 3 which was too small for the 3 of us. Then I asked for one of the 4 tops which were empty but was refused. We finally settled for a booth. The hostess was unkind and never smiled. It was like she was doing us a favor by seating us, but we took the booth. Understand that the restaurant was not at all crowded on a Monday evening,
Then our server, with an attitude appeared. No welcome from him either. He was inattentive during our meal. It seemed like he didn’t want to be working. He was serving only 1 table other than my families table.
Our food was delivered. My filet was chewy. Perhaps the worst filet ever. My daughters both ordered the sea bass with extra spice. The sea bass lacked flavor and no spice. My daughter explained this to our server. He went to the kitchen and arrived with some spice for them to apply to the sea bass on their own. The only good, and I mean delicious was the apple cobbler with a scoop of ice cream for dessert.
I was completely disappointed with our dining experience. We frequent Boatyard and normally enjoy the service, food, & atmosphere. This was a disaster for a 4 star restaurant. The bill was insanely high for the poor dining experience. One more thing, since this was a Celebration Dinner, we ordered Martinis which arrived warm……really. We put ice in our martini glasses to cool the drinks which didn’t do the job. The server took them back to the bar & had the original drinks shaken in ice and returned them to us. The martinis ended up being mostly water with little vodka recognizable.
I request to be contacted by the management. I reserved through Open Table for 7:30 on 9/13.
Jimmy our server was great. Will definitely be back!
Extremely noisy and we had to change tables due to very poor acoustics Dessert apple pie under cooked pastry and apples. Ridiculous billing system. A martini was billed as alcohol plus $2 for ice! whiskey charged plus ice $1
The restaurant is great and the service was wonderful. However, I shouldn’t need a knife to cut through Seabass. I was so disappointed.
Very high noise level, could not hear my spouse unless she yelled out.
Food could have been better, cost of the sides too high.
Their seafood is great, however don't forget to view their excellent vegan menu! Ah, and their bread is also excellent (although I'm sure not vegan :-)
It was our anniversary; first time customer and would definitely visit again. The fries with the garlic dip and Bimini bread was awesome. The waiter was on point
Waitress was excellent, food looked great and tasted even better, everything cooked to perfect temp.
We LOVE the Boatyard -- and have always come here for Sunday Brunch, which is FANTASTIC. We decided to try it for dinner, and we were not as happy with it as we had hoped. We had 7:30 reservations on a Saturday night, and instead of having a nice, leisurely meal, we were SO rushed. We hadn't had our drinks for 2 minutes before all of our appetizers arrived -- and my BF got his salad AND soup at the same time. We weren't done with our appetizers when our entrees arrived. It really made what should have been a really lovely night, not so great. We will definitely be back for brunch, but def not for dinner.
Our server was George. He was outstanding. Very pleasant, energetic and made our night carefree. The food was delicious, music playing and decor is fun. Definately recommend this restaurant.
Big open floor plan lacks privacy, but still has nice atmosphere. Service was impeccable. Food was good, but very pricey. Loved the paella but did not enjoy the octopus appetizer or overpriced shrimp from the raw bar.
Ceviche , tuna tacos and calamari appetizers were superb! Shrimp scampi was the the best I ever had!
Had requested not to sit near bathroom or waiter stand - instead? Ugh we were at the table with the most traffic going by us / and by door leading outside ….
Poor location to sit for our first experience , but the service and food were spot on.
That was by far the most enjoyable evening out in several months. This is a must stop every time I’m in town working.
We had a nice evening and George our server was great. Power house salad and paella was excellent. Steak was very small portion for the price.
Lovely location! We were seated outside by the water and had a phenomenal server by the name of Michael. We chose to sit outside for safety during Covid times, but noticed that everything was spread out nicely inside with great ventilation and also would have felt safe eating in there if weather had been an issue.
The food was good but the employees and location are what really make this spot special. We will definitely be back!
We went for our anniversary, it was very good, food was great. A little expensive, but good.
This restaurant is always consistent with great service, great food, and great atmosphere. I love coming here for those reasons. The service, especially, is outstanding.
This restaurant is always consistent. The food is delicious and service was on point. The brunch menu had endless options!
Great place for a date. The food tastes amazing and the drinks are not watered down. Grabbing a window seat is still great if it’s too hot outside but you want to see the scenery
Another wonderful meal at Boatyard!
Portions of the entree were a bit small; couldn’t have been a four ounce piece of Mahi Mahi for $33. Cooked nicely though. Desert was excellent, the Key Lime Baked Alaska.
Birthday celebration for a friend. After work hours on a Thursday. Not the place for A QUIET EVENING - but GREAT AMBIENCE. Happy crowd. No crowd control/ COVID - 19 or social distances guidelines enforced. Happy I chose the outside seating w/ a reserved seating!!
One of my favorite places - but NOT for this experience. The table seating was soon overdone by about six people added to table of 4 in the spaced seating area.
Will Not do this time slot again during the pandemic. OK for the DON'T CARE CROWD. i DO NOT KNOW HOW THE INSIDE IS HANDLED!
STILL one of the best views in town with awesome starters! My recommendation will depend
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, and had a lovely night out at Boatyard. The night before, I was phoned to confirm my reservation and was told there would be absolutely no outside seating available, as a large group would be outside.
We arrived at the restaurant for our reservation and were asked if we preferred outside seating. My wife loves dining alfresco, so naturally she chose outside. Turns out the large party switched to indoor dining as the possibility of rain was forecast.
Seated outside, our table had an umbrella above it that refused to close, like the rest. With the sudden winds gusts, the umbrella canted to the side and startled us as we thought it was falling on us. Our server, Freddy was on it and asked if we'd like to switch tables. Absolutely, crisis averted.
Drinks were fantastic, and appetizers were very tasty. Awaiting our entrees, a gust of wind brought a swarm of flies to a family at a table next to us as they were trying to eat. As our entrees arrived, the flies came around us (the paella is superb, by the way), Freddy and the manager Cain, were on it and asked if we'd prefer lan indoor table. We did and perfectly timed the sudden cloud burst of rain on all who were outside as we sat in comfort and enjoyed the rest of our evening.
I recommend the Boatyard dining experience and look forward to returning soon. The food was fantastic and the personnel were pleasantly accommodating. 4 1/2 stars.
Dine out Fort Lauderdale at Boatyard was excellent!!!!
Two out of the 3 things we ordered was burnt and told the serve. she wanted to fix it but i told her to just tell the kitchen staff. she showed the food to the kitchen and apologized. Still doesn't make up for the fact that both of my food was burnt.
FL restaurant month special was unbelievable!!!! full size portions, 3 courses for $35. Great time to try this restaurant, we will be back!!! Server was excellent!!!
Always better than just good. Super nice service and spot on service. Food was perfect. One of my So Fla favorites!
Shrimp poboy and shrimp and grits were amazing! Also the conch fritters were like we were back in the islands! Cheers!!
Very good service.. the food was amazing plus a very nice atmosphere
My food take a little longer I was expecting. But food was great
Everything was excellent! Food, service, ambiance. Celebrated my son’s graduation from Nova’s PA school.
Excellent service and food was outstanding!
Food was delicious and our sever was friendly and amazing
All of the food was excellent. Service by Michael was also excellent. The noise level was a bit uncomfortable but happy to see a full dining room again. Thank you.
Always delicious. Servers Gary and Sarah are ourstanding
Hostess experience was very poor. Initially took us to a booth that was adjacent to the bar. Bar was packed and noise was so loud we couldn’t hear ourselves talk. Restaurant (inside) was not even 1/4 filled. Asked to change our table to somewhere quieter and were grudgingly taken to a table literally next to the kitchen. Service was not attentive nor informative. Food was excellent however. Suggest customer service and welcome could be significantly improved. Not the usual review we provide but disappointing experience.
Daniel was the perfect waiter.
The food was perfect
