Valentines dinner. It was very nice.
I normally enjoy dining at Boathouse White Rock. However, this time it was disappointing. They offered set menus ($49.99 and $59.99 for 3-course meal) for Valentine's Day, but the food was mediocre at best. The best of the night was when Rachel, who served me a couple of times in the past, recognized me and greeted me very kindly as we were leaving.
Love coming here especially in the summer on the patio. This time I came for Valentine's Day. Was a little disappointed with the clientele actually. Everything was nice in the restaurant, however, most people came dressed very casual. I was very surprised as it was a romantic occasion. I don't know if it was changing attitudes or people thought less of the location and didn't see it as a place thar was worthy of dressing up for.
Valentine’s Day! They made an error with the menu but fixed it with a replacement dish in 5 minutes. The food was perfect. My husband had prime rib with stuffed prawns and I had steak with stuffed prawns. Delish.
I would enjoy the food more if it was not over-hot with chili peppers or whatever hot
spices are used. It is not just the boathouse but it seems like all restaurants these days
insist on putting 'hot' into most everything. For me this takes away from the other flavours on the plate and leaves an unpleasant hotness in my mouth and starts my sinuses running. Hot dishes should be elective with degrees of hotness available so one is prepared and not disappointed in their meal. When I cook with green curry at home you get the curry flavor and your taste buds are not burned out for the rest of the meal. I hope this is taken as constructive criticism as intended.
We were seated at a table with a great view of the ocean and we watched a magnificent sunset.
The service and the food was excellent.
Had guests in from Paris, France and they enjoyed the location and the food was exceptional. Would recommend this location to everyone.
Our server, Michelle was phenomenal! Out of 6 people, 3 had severe allergies and she took great care of us. This was so appreciated as eating out is already difficult enough. We will definitley be back!
Excellent service and a well chosen options for Dine Out Vancouver's prix fixe menu made this a wonderful visit.
Birthday dinner with a friend for Dine Out Vancouver. Wonderful food & wine with amazing service and ambiance
The food was really good and the location is fantastic. Seemed better suited for an older crowd but that probably says more about the neighborhood.
A last minute dining decision. Dined from the “Dine our Vancouver menu. Food was very good, service as well. A very nice evening.
Great experience. Waiter was very understanding with a large group (who kept changing their minds). Wish food and appys came a little faster but it’s understandable with a large crowd. Also wish they had better options by window for bigger crowds.
Went out for Dine out Vancouver with my gf’s
The food was great, service was accommodating and it was a live fun atmosphere. I would Definitely book again!
Very basic, chain restaurant food. Great to take your elderly aunt or for a group of teenage girls who think it's a big night out.
We went for the dine out surrey menu. The service was outstanding, the food was excellent and very reasonable priced. Will absolutely be going back.
This boathouse has exceptional food however this time I ordered the shrimp and lobster ravioli without tomatoes and came with the tomato dressing. The restaurant was very gracious in taking back my dinner. The replaces it with a very thick white sauce which overpowered the pasta. I have made this request before and received a very tasty light sauce that complimented the pasta. The manager did come over and offer me a free hors d'œuvre in way of compensation. I would not hesitate to go to this restaurant again.
The restaurant was absolutely freezing. All 5 of us ate dinner with our jackets on.
Everything else was great!
Overall food was ok. My husband had the cod and chips but they were just average. I had the steak with crab Oscar topping. The service started out great and our first appetizer and French fries for our son came very quickly but then the service slowed down drastically as the night proceeded. Was told our meal took so long because I asked for the steak to be cooked well done since I’m 7 months pregnant. The steak came out medium well without the crab topping. The waitress said she thought I ordered the steak off the $30 dine out Vancouver menu and not the steak off the $40 menu. The steaks were different cuts and when I asked about my steak because it came without the crab topping she got me the topping on the side but didn’t replace the steak with the right cut. And then she billed me for the steak on the $40 menu. She also tried to bill us for 2 seafood chowders when we only ordered one. After our dinner dishes were cleared we were given cutlery for our dessert and then we waited 15 minutes for our desserts to come out. My husband asked if the dessert was hand made to order the waitress quickly responded that the kitchen was backed up (it was 9pm and the restaurant was already half empty). We won’t be returning to the dining room anytime soon. Maybe in the summer we will visit the roof top patio for drinks and appies but that’s about all.
Was very frustrated that the restaurant didn't actually have our reservation despite 3 confirmation emails from OpenTable.
Only complaint would be that the entree was brought out immediately after the appetizer. Felt rushed.
Everything was excellent. The service, the food. Everything.
Boathouse is our go-to when it comes to special occasions. And it's always a wonderful experience everytime!
We had a great time. The food was very good and the wine excellent! The birthday girl was extremely happy.
We went to celebrate my birthday with our Landry’s card. View over Semiahmoo Bay was fantastic to go with the great service and very good food. A very enjoyable day.
The view is beautiful, the waitress was wonderful! Waited 15 minutes for my 3:30 Reservation and the food was a little disappointing in portion sizes 😕
We've been coming to the Boathouse in White Rock for New Years day dinner for the past 3 years. I can honestly say I will not be back for our yearly dinner. Service was in the slow side. Ahi Tuna poke was all right a bit fishy, my daughter ordered the salmon and the first time it came out it was dry and the second time raw - by this time everyone had eaten and she didn't bother to get it redone for the third time. I ordered the halibut that is probably the most expensive item on the menu and it was dry. I was so looking forward to a good peice of fish but was very disappointed. I ask for extra vegetables and the carrots came out rock hard. Hardly worth 40 bucks. I could have cooked something better myself. I NEVER write reviews and probably would not have unless the survey came up on my email. It was not worth the money at all. Our bill was roughly 350 - 400 and that was after my daughter's meal was taken off. It's unfortunate that I've had this experience as it has tarnished my opinion of the Boathouse. It will not be on my too list of places to dine at.

New Years Day tradition
Came here for New Year's Eve dinner and the set menu was amazing. There were lots of options and they were very accommodating of my garlic allergy. Definitely a must if you're looking for a fancier meal!
Overall the quality was 10/10! Great place to dine with my wife. Service was great but felt a little pushed. Would highly recommend the restaurant.
