Boat House Waterfront Dining Ratings and Reviews
Went with friends...some meals were great, others ok...salad was over dressed and almost wilting..paella was excellent....cappuccinos were all cold , had to have the remake them, carrot cake was small and cake was dry....meals were very pricey....waitress was ok but not terribly attentive....the view was beautiful...probably wouldn't rush back for the price $57/person with a drink, meal ,1 shared dessert...
The restaurant in atmosphere was very nice. We ate outside which the smoking area was right outside so when they were smoking it came right over to us. That was pretty disgusting. Definitely suggest you move that area. My friend had ordered the Paia which the rice was extremely sticky. not satisfying. I had filet mignon which was cooked very well but extremely salty. My fault I should have told them late on the salt. The service was very good he was very accommodating. He actually went over and excused himself for the people to move back and smoke somewhere else. I'm not one to criticize but since this came to me I'll be happy to fill it out. I will try it one more time to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Thank you
Hooked up with other family members for our second trip here for lunch. The meal, staff, view were equally excellent as the first time. I am sure there will be a third and we are all looking forward to that trip. This is one of the most scenic and pleasant restaurants in the area, in a section of the country that is noted for scenic and pleasant restaurants. And, oh, did I say the food and service was excellent.
The Boat House is always a favorite choice for us, although we are not local residents. The 3 drinks were excellent and the one margarita was not overly sweet, sometimes a problem with many drinks. The fish & chips were light and crispy and perfectly prepared. We completed the meal with gelato & sorbet. They are refreshing and well priced for an end to a great night. Our server, Bridget, was very pleasant, capable, and attentive. It was a perfect night out!
Requested outdoor patio table with reservation. When we arrived 10 minutes prior to our reservation, I watched the hostess give the last outdoor table to a party who walked in right before us and had no reservation; actually offered it to them with no consideration that a reservation in 10 minutes requested an outdoor table! Very disappointed at such lack of experienced hostesses. And not the most polite either.
We took a friend for Sunday brunch to the Boat House for her first time there, and she was very impressed by the view over the bay, the food, the service, and the presentation. I can honestly say we have never had a bad brunch at this restaurant:every dish was perfect and each plate was beautifully presented. The waiter was especially helpful, providing clear descriptions of the specials. We were very pleased to find that an 11:30 am reservation meant immediate seating by the windows and an unharried waitstaff. And as the place grew busier, the staff did not hurry us so as to free the table. We all had a lovely meal.
The only complaint is that I requested a window seat for my husband's bday celebration, the hostess I felt had an attitude and told me their was nothing available. I could see a window table in front of me available. We made reservations one week ahead of time if you make a request in a reservation online this should happen for the customer. Agree?
Always love the Boat House but the revamped menu is great! The view from deck is beautiful, especially at sunset. The service is wonderful: the hostess found us exactly the table we wanted, and the server was friendly and answered all questions professionally. Definitely on our go-to list for dining, and high on the list!
I love this place. It has never disappointed. The food is incredible. For example, I've had seafood paellas elsewhere, before, and they are frequently overcooked. Each different type of seafood in the dish was cooked perfectly, and the rice wasn't a terrible mush. In fact, it had moments of that delicious crust that really good paellas get. The oysters, the drinks. Fantastic.
After hearing about the Boathouse for years, we finally made it! What an outstanding experience! We took the boat, pulled right up to their dock and had the most delicious, well serviced sunset dinner for our anniversary. Hollie our server was the best ever! What stinks is the restaurant is sooo popular now, it's tough to get a res! We had to go on a Monday night to dine at 6pm and the place was still packed!
Great place for just drinks and apps too... nice Adirondack chairs on the decks to watch the boats and sunsets. Very classy if you're looking for a step above the rest. It's rare to have zero issues, but the Boathouse was perfect... and is now our favorite new spot! Congrats and thank you for a most pleasurable experience!

Food was amazing. We started with the tomato and burrata salad. I had the grilled shrimp and scallops with the lemon sauce, and a side of broccolini. My husband had the veggie burger with fries. All of it was very good. Arrived right at sunset, and the view was stunning. Would definitely eat here again.
Nathan provided exceptional service; he was personable, attentive and knowledgeable.
More vegetarian options would be appreciated.
The carrot cake was delicious and the presentation was lovely, but for the price I did expect a larger portion.
My friends and I had a wonderful time
We frequent the Boathouse often and have never been disappointed with the quality of food, the menu choices, the atmosphere and service. This time we scheduled for an earlier than usual dinner at 4pm. The wait for a server was longer than usual due to shift change. Didn't mine waiting longer because its worth the wait however, it would have been better if we at least got a drink while waiting.
Seating on the patio for lunch on a beautiful summer day is as good as it gets. The scenery on the river is mesmerizing, the food is wonderful, and the service is always excellent. Our guest from out of town was suitably impressed with our favorite restaurant in this area, and would come again in a flash. We love the attention to ambience at this place -- flowers, umbrella'd tables, wonderful views, upbeat atmosphere.
This is one of our favorite restaurants for fine food & a gorgeous scenic view. The haddock dish is creative, delicious, and healthy, so I would suggest ordering it. The lobster fritters are well worth the money and the gelato dessert is the perfect ending to a fine meal. Our server, Jessica, was attentive & helpful, too. As always, a treat to go to The Boat House!
