Service was ok. Waiter seemed to be in a hurry to finish his shift. Manner was abrupt. Lack of attention to detail. Should not have to ask for steak knives when steaks are ordered. Second time in six months I have had this experience. No more Boathouse Port Moody.

We made a reservation with a note that we’d prefer a quiet table with a view of the water. It was our anniversary so we wanted something nice. They read the note when we arrived so obviously they didn’t have any of those tables available. Why even have a note section if no one’s going to read it beforehand? We were sat on the patio with a view of the servers station. Our food arrived on scorching hot plates but was somehow cold. My husband asked for garlic butter which never arrived. I mean for $40/plate you’d think it’d at least be warm. The table beside actually complained about the same thing. All in all it was super disappointing. Definitely not worth what we paid.

The ambiance was splendid. The lighting was just right, the tables were fairly large, and there was enough room for just the two of us. Thankfully, it wasn't too loud in the restaurant. Our server was so nice and made light conversation. I wasn't overly pleased with the length of time it took to receive our order though. The salad came fast but the main course took a while. In terms of the salad, the greens were fresh and the cheese was strong (in a good way!). Apple cider vinegar was the primary base for the dressing; having used apple cider vinegar as in ingredient in my household for more than 10 years, I would definitely recommend mixing the ACV with a bit of agave nectar and white wine vinegar, paired with fennel and radish to tame the pungency of the salad. It was overall quite good but could have been better. I ordered the Wild Maple Salmon and my boyfriend ordered the 9 oz. Sirloin Steak. His steak came out just the way he asked for it, could've used a tad more seasoning but all in all, it was a well made steak. My dish on the other hand was mediocre. I specifically asked for my salmon to be cooked medium-rare, closer to the rare side but it came out over done, dry, and chewy. The taste was just right though. My potatoes were also incredibly dry and flavorless. The seasonal vegetables (zucchini and carrots) were tasty, nothing to write home about but to say the least, they were the only thing on my plate that wasn't over cooked. Overall I would give my experience at Boathouse a 6/10. I'm an avid seafood lover but my salmon did not make the cut.

Set menu this Valentine's day was pretty promising. Steak was good but TINY for a $59 plate. 2 of twelve oysters were beyond off ,yellow and smelly as he'll $40 dozen kinda ridiculous . Snow crab legs were like rubber faux crab shell filled with ok crab ,precooked and reheated. The veggies and mash were tasty but sparse and way too "pre cooked" . Cheescake was pretty decent.drinks were spot on service was great the waitress was in the weeds but a great server.

Standing by a solid 3 stars. Expected more to be honest. Even late eve on a set menu.

I put 3 stars for value. Only because we went Valentine's Day. And all menu items are about twice normal cost. Also service: staff did better then most on that special day. They were busy - but great overall.

Noisy atmosphere. Service was slow and food was slow. Quality of the food was not to its price, likely due to Valentine’s Day, but having to wait more than one hour for the food isn’t really worth it.

Went for vday dinner with the family. They were gracious enough to prepare a chicken dish for my son as only meat and seafood were featured on the vday menu. The prime rib dinner I ordered for medium doneness and it came out more rare than my liking. Our waitress was kind enough to ask if I wanted it redone, but I did not want to bother because we had waited sometime for my son's meal as she said it took longer for his meal to be prepared because it was not on the menu for that night. My husbands prime rib came out with the crab oscar topping but he did not order the topping. They took his back and replaced it with the correct order. My daughter ordered the salmon maple glaze and after a few bites she wouldn't eat anymore because it was spicy. She is not a spicy food type of person at all! We thought that was odd because there was nothing noted about spice in the description on the menu, so my husband and I took a couple of bites as well and could taste that there was definitely some spice on the salmon. I asked our waitress and she thought that was odd, so she was kind enough to investigate. She came back to let us know that the salsa topping that is on top of the salmon had some chilli pepper flakes in the mixture, so what was on the salmon must've had a a scoop of salsa that may happened to have more of the pepper flakes and it seeped into the salmon. Our waitress, again, asked if she could get my daughter a new salmon but we politely declined because she ended eating some of her brothers pasta. We just got it packed up for my husband to eat for lunch the next day.
The service was great, but unfortunately our meals were just ok.

Where to begin? Well, let’s see... despite having a reservation, we were asked to wait for 20 minutes while our table “was being prepared”. When we were finally brought to our seats, we were surprised to see many (many!) empty tables — but here’s the catch...our long awaited table still needed to be cleared and set. Never mind, we thought, we’ll focus on the food and drink. The server was nowhere to be seen. When she finally appeared and then reappeared after taking our drink order, she announced that there were no soft drinks available. On Valentine’s Day?! Okay, never mind, we thought again..on to the food. And herein was the biggest (and most expensive) disappointment — the food was terrible! Between the overcooked steak and the undersized portion of mussels, we were woefully disappointed. Our Valentine’s Day meal was certainly memorable...but for all the wrong reasons. We won’t be going back there. Too bad. The setting is great. But a restaurant can’t rest on its location laurels. Oh my heart...

Very disappointed with our dinner out. The restaurant was very empty yet our server was never around. She didn’t even take our drink order. Didn’t tell us about specials. We had to ask for drinks and bread. The food was only ok and not worth the cost in my opinion. My daughter ordered the cheese burgers and they were so over cooked she could hardly bite through them. When it was time to pay our server disappeared for over 10 mins. We just wanted to pay and leave. We won’t be back.

My husband and I dined at the boathouse, which we've done quite a few times before. While we had a reservation, we were asked to wait 10 minutes before we were seated, although there were a lot of open tables. In the past the service has been excellent, however this time, our waitress was rarely available. My husband ordered a steak, and it took 10 minutes for the waitress to come by with a steak knife, and while our food was very good, his steak was cold by the time the waitress came by. We've come to the boathouse quite a few times, but we will consider going somewhere else next time, due to the poor service.

The service was mediocre. Maybe a new hire. The potatoes with our steak were cold. The seasonal green veggies were mushy and the steak wasn’t cooked right. Didn’t want to send it all back as it took 2.5 hrs from start to finish for our whole meal. Very long time .

Two out of four of our meals were under the heatlamp for more than 15 minutes then were brought to our table. As well, a mistake was made in the making of a meal and a burger was gutted and manhandled before being brought out. So, two people at our table got to eat while two people had to wait for meals to be remade and replaced. I should not have chosen this location for my birthday; I was very disappointed. One meal was not charged for after the mistake was rectified, but I was still left unhappy with my overall experience as I looked so forward to my birthday dinner with my family.

We all opted for the Dine-out Vancouver menu and all meals were great and cooked as ordered. Steak Oscars x4 with 2 coconut shrimp and 2 soups for appi's. We had a New born and a 2yr old with us and staff helped to keep things moving in a timely manor which we all appreciated. We have come to expect great things with the Boathouse and are never disappointed. Thanks!

We were both very pleased with our dining experience at the Boathouse in Port Moody! We decided to go for Dine Out Vancouver and only paid $30 each for incredible appetizers, entrees and desserts! The food was delicious, the service was fantastic, the ambience was lovely and such great value for the quality food we received! Thank you so much for an excellent experience, we will definitely be back!

first time at this location and was able to book reservations on line. rainy night so could not appreciate the waterfront nor the view. food and drinks were very good. ambience was casual with roomy atmosphere. not too loud and was able to chat at the table without raising the vocals. service was excellent. would definitely come back now that im a landrys member.

The main course tasted excellent but all courses were warm to cool.

The appetizer artichoke and chips was sent back because the chips were burnt.

We had reservations and arrived for lunch during the Dine our Vancouver 2018 very excited about eating here in such a nice location. We ordered our food and it arrived after one hour. It was busy yes, however there were two tables that showed up after us and they got their food first. We understand that maybe we were treated this way because although we were very polite and courteous we were out with our toddler for a family lunch and probably did not match the dress code of the tables next to us; or probably we were not as old. We were polite until the end however, paid and left with a smile. We could have stopped the order and politely walk out but we are not that type. We will however give a second thought in the future when we will be planning business functions or Christmas lunches, as we may not want to risk a one hour wait then.

this is supposed to be a place to go for seafood, i had the seafood platter, all of it was flavorless, didn't even finish the salmon and i love salmon, very disappointing, won't be back
