The lighting was too dark, food was good. Nothing outstanding.
lovely view of the water and the heaters and fireplace gave the covered/indoor patio a cozy feel - while menu is smaller and service staff in short supply, no issues with choosing a great brunch and service was friendly and efficient.
While the food was okay, the service was pretty disappointing. We waited 15 minutes before receiving our drink orders. Food was slow to arrive and we were not asked about refills on our drinks until we were finished our meals. Taste check was barely done as we were finishing. Now, I get covid has changed a lot, but it didn’t appear particularly busy and we felt really let down that one of our very few nights out was marred by poor service. The server was nice enough and brought me a piece of cake for my birthday which was complimentary. So... acceptable but don’t go with high expectations. For the prices, I expect more.
Spacious and airy, very spaced out from others. Attentive service. Outstanding food.
Comfortable setting with nice view. Overall food and service was great.
For only 3 tables with guests our service was almost non existent. Went for my Birthday. Food was good but portion ratio to price could be better value. Was disappointed in the lack of service. Our drinks went dry and no offer to order more. Had to ask for water at the end for my daughter to get her food down after she took my glass from me. A bit disappointed I wasted a Birthday to dobe here. The whole experience just wasn't there. Won't be back.
Two out of four diners got sick after eating here.
The food was delicious and was delivered to our table in a timely manner. The timing of the service was slow though. That would be the only suggestion I would give is to make sure that once a drink order is taken, and drinks are delivered, that the server returns to the table faster to take our order.
The food was barely average, but very over priced. The ambiance and service was very good.
Food was delicious. The view was nice despite torrential rain at the time!
Had a lovely New Year's dinner at the Port Moody Boathouse. They take Covid precautions seriously and we had a flawless meal. A real favourite.
Amazing food, clean, very well socially distanced tables ! Great protocols and a welcoming warm atmosphere! Very highly recommended
This was the best experience we have had in a long time at any restaurant. We came for New Years Eve and everything was perfect. The manager (Derek?) went above and beyond by calling us more than once to discuss options around the PHO orders of alcohol orders after 8pm. He even called us to let us a know a table had opened up early if we wanted to come down to be able to order a drink, definitely above and beyond service. The food was incredible and the service was phenomenal. The Covid protocols were great and I felt very comfortable having my New Years Eve dinner out in public. Thank you Boathouse for bringing some normalcy to the end what has been a very abnormal year. I hope they continue to serve many customers and their business thrives in 2021!!
Food was great the staff where all fabulous. They go out of there way for you.
Great server and great food. A nice romantic dinner fo my wife and me.
Food was good and the atmosphere was quiet and comfortable but the food was not as hot as expected
Loved the westcoast grill. Calamari too few and very deep fried, thick coating of batter. Very SD observed. Great service and beautiful view. Wine by the glass very limited selection.
Great meal and excellent service. Ambiance is phenomenal! Love this restaurant!
Had the set menu. At 5:30 p.m. ordered the lamb shank. They came back 20 min. later and said they didn't have it. Ordered the steak and prawns. Had the seafood chowder for the appetizer. It was very good. The steak and prawns were very good. The desert was mocha pie. They ran out. Had the raspberry cheesecake. It was ok. I wouldn't order it again. Service was a bit scrambly. I could see they were short staffed. I enjoyed the evening but it could have been better.
It was pretty for Christmas the food was very good.
The service was terrible, literally banging the dishes on to the table,
major attitude (not good) and didn't come to check on us. Guess
she was having a bad day!
Waitress was great. My food was cold and salad was too drenched in dressing. The drinks were good
Excellent service & food!
Had a great night at the boathouse. Food was great and so was the service. Sat in front of the fireplace. Nice view of water
Margarita was terrible! No flavour. Replaced with Bellini.
Friend has seafood chowder. He has been sick since. Coconut prawns were burnt. Very unappealing.
It was Christmas dinner and we had a lovely table by the fireplace- very pleasant waiter and good food
Nice place to spend a holiday meal. Great service food and views
We had a great Christmas dinner @ Boathouse Port Moody . My only issue is that they ran out of Lamb Shank before 6:30 pm .
We went for Christmas dinner and it was wonderful. We loved the atmosphere and view. The special menu was great!
Very nice for a covid Christmas 🎄 our waitress was awesome
The Christmas menu had a good selection. Our table of 4 tried 3 (of the 5 or May e even 6) items and all of them were very flavourful and well presented. The appetizer was lacking or at least we have tasted better. Dessert choice luckily was 2 of our favourites.
Service was very good, Zoey (sp?) was most pleasant and attentive; the wine she paired with my entree was quite good! COVID measures were appropriate. Overall a most pleasant way and perfect choice to have celebrated our Christmas.
We opted to go out for Christmas dinner because restaurants need all the support they can get right now.
The service was quite poor, I asked for a water with my wine which never came, very few check ins, very little attention overall.
My husband said his food was fine, but not great. I got the lobster bisque (watery) steak and lobster thermadoir (ok, veg very under seasoned and undercooked) and the creme brulee. The creme brulee was terrible and should have never been served. Totally off on texture.
Great service could have compensated for lacklustre food, amazing food could have compensated for poor service, when they are both sub par, doesn’t leave a good impression.
When we arrived in the restaurant the hostess offered us either dining room or patio seating. We originally chose dining room, but we were assigned a table at the very back of the restaurant, in a dark, cold corner. I asked the hostess if she could offer another seating in the dining room , since there were three contiguous booths that were unoccupied. She denied my request and offered me the patio seating only.
I understand the restrictions due to Covid, but the booth tables didn't even have a "reserved" sign as were the other tables that were blocked to offer social distancing. Having one free booth in between two occupied ones is enough distancing.
The table in the patio was large, but patio furniture is uncomfortable. They had the fireplace running plus overhead heaters, however the table was placed directly by the windows and a freezing draft was coming in, making it impossible to take the jacket off. Food was good, without being extraordinary. Soup and main dishes were served hot although the lamb shank had a huge bone-in and little meat.
We had a good dinner, the Christmas menu wasn't great but good enough.
The service was really good.
Our order got messed up 3 times. 3 out of 7@5 people at our table were not very happy with their meal as it was either dry, not what they ordered or cold
Not to busy so the atmosphere was relaxing. More of a adult location which was nice. Food was good not overly cooked.
No wonder the restaurant was empty. Food quality was terrible. I couldn't even eat more than one bite of the lobster Ravioli as it was under cooked and tasted fishy like old lobster past its time. The Ceasar salad had little or no dressing on it, didn't eat it. The Bread roleswere hard as rock stale dinner roles that were inedible. When we sent them back laughing about why they would even bring those to a table the server said we'll get you fresh right away, they then send out four pieces of Rye toast!!! I was flabbergasted. Sorry but many years of attending the boathouse, this is most likely my last. I was embarrassed to have suggested the place after that poor display. Waiter was pleasant but inexperienced. The crème Brule was excellent.
We were seated at a large round empty table for the three of us. We ordered some drinks and the server brought rock hard buns after quite a while. We ordered the three course special Christmas meal which we thought couldn’t be that hard to serve seeing that there were less than ten tables.
My son and I ordered the lamb shank which was served on a doggie style bowl which prove awkward to eat. My There were no asparagus like it said on the menu. My husband’s dinner was fine served a plate. Our creme brûlée’s were burnt. How could someone looked at it and serve it. To make it worse a supervisor came over. Instead of apologizing she said it doesn’t matter because the dessert was complementary. Really!
Are you serving lamb shank at forty dollars a meal. This is the worst experience we ever had in a restaurant.
By the way we had to ask for our cutlery twice. I will tell you even the nicest location couldn’t save your terrible service and burned food. We thought we will give some business to a local Boathouse during the pandemic. Rest assured we will never come to your restaurant again.
