Nice and quiet
Food took a bit long but overall good experience
Would go again
Great service. Yummy food . Lovely place . Will come back again
soon after arriving , i am usually asked if i am "celebrating anything today."
i wasnt asked this time and thus did not receive the free piece of cake for
the wifes birthday .
the free fresh bread took about 15 minutes to arrive (longer than usual and we felt it necessary to inquire)
the dessert we wanted was "sold out"
the food was delicious , the ambiance was good , and it was pleasantly quiet.
(until the the 3 year old arrived and was seated social-distant but the next table over)
the wife wants to go there for her birthday , so we will go there again.
i would be up for trying the happy hour specials mon-fri 2-5 pm
The staff looked stressed and under staffed. The food and selection was great as always. The environment was missing the positive energy is usually has, pre-COVID.
Amazing service, food, drinks, and overall experience.
My family went there for a 68th birthday dinner and were sorely disappointed. I ordered a lobster bisque and it was incredibly fishy tasting and smelling. My mother could smell it and she was two seats over. The steak was also bland. Other members of my family ordered seafood and it did not taste fresh as I could tell from the lobster bisque. We will not be going back to the boathouse especially at that price point.
Loved our table by the window and the fireplace.
Ordered off the Dine out menu so it was nice to get an appie, a main and a dessert.
Good variety of choices.
Friendly staff.
The food was great, although my friend found the seasonings too strong so she had to have hers redone. Overall, good, but my $40 meal became 97 with tip (drinks were nearly 30, and they charged nearly $11 for 4 extra prawns, which I found ridiculous!)! I will def avoid any add ons in future, and stick with only a glass of wine or just water to drink. The dessert was only average (I’ve definitely had better mocha ice cream pies!), but my steak was cooked perfectly! Definitely worth the money if you skip drinks or add ons!
I have been a customer of the Boathouse for many years. I decided to try it out for Dine out Vancouver at their New West location. Boy i wish i didn't bother. The interior was something like a Denny's. The bathroom was not any better.. You would think that with Covid things would be clean. The dine out menu is misleading because it is $40 but the soups you get are basically an exact Cup of soup.. and that disappointing as it was the best part other than the bread or the wine we selected. My gf's steak was grisly and the prawns were overcooked. My ravioli was tasty but not all the pasta was cooked enough. The dessert was also good but again, the size i think was reduced for dine out. All in all I would not spend my money there again.
I have been to The Boathouse many times over the years. I expected a wonderful evening with delicious food and s chill ambiance while looking out at the water. The Boathouse did not disappoint.
My husband and I always enjoy dinners and lunches at the New Westminster Boathouse.
In fact, we are thinking of going their for brunch this coming weekend. The food is great and service is excellent. Thank you so much!
Food was delicious. Dine out Vancouver. Impressed for quality. Felt bad for waitress she was alone
Very slow with staff, good food though just hard to track staff down.
We went for Dine Out Vancouver the night after Valentine's Day. It was lovely! The value, food, and service was amazing.
Booked a reservation at 4 on family day, Monday. Earlier that day the Boathouse sent out an email reminding me of Happy Hour and Oysters.
Showed up at my chosen time, paid for parking, sat down, asked about the oysters. They were sold out.
We left, the oysters were why we went.
Asked to get my parking refunded, I was told they pay for parking.
Followed Covid regulations with social distancing. Food quality excellent (as expected) and service very good. When ready to leave, they called a taxi for us. We'll be back soon.
It was a very enjoyable Valentine's Day dinner. Anytime I don't have to cook and clean up is a wonderful thing and you can never go wrong eating at a Boathouse restaurant. It was my first time at this location and I wouldn't hesitate to return to this location.
Food was fantastic. Service was excellent. Restaurant is looking tired and we were seated in the bar area for Valentines with football and games playing. Not that romantic. Needs a major reno to update gold chairs and table for Valentines could have been done better.
But! Food was great and service was great and view is awesome!
A OK...... IT WAS GREEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
Wonderful food. Fantastic server!!! Always enjoy going here!
We had a reservation for dine-out. Our server was great, food was delicious and hot. No big delays with food either. Great overall dining experience.
Server was nice. Hostess didn’t feel particularly warm and friendly.
Used the Dine Out 2021 menu. Seafood Chowder - not much seafood - mostly broth and croutons. My husband enjoyed his steak and prawns. My lobster ravioli was rubbery, dry and served warm with a couple of hot spots. Special margherita was good but overpriced at $15 each. Server was very attentive. No offer of fresh ground pepper or cheese for my ravioli - perhaps due to COVID? Not the best but not the worst food experience.
Sean our Server was amazing. Food was excellently prepared. We were not rushed.
Great service, this is not the first or the last time we have been there
We came for anniversary. I love the oysters, I love the seafood pasta and bf loved his burger. Popcorn shrimp was okay but not the best, fries were great. Friendly staff but seemed like she was always in a hurry to leave the table.
I thought the food was Ok. The Dine out menu was Ok. Nothing special or unique.
Seemed like it was understaffed, the reception desk was left unattended for nearly ten minutes. Hostess was indifferent and non-attentive. Ordered the steak, it was cooked well but lacked any seasoning and flavour. Ravioli looked like it was slopped onto a plate that was too small for the portion. My boyfriend had to be careful not to let any of it fall off the plate. Same hostess dropped a wine glass behind my chair and splashed wine onto my jacket, no apologies or compensation for the mishap. Pretty disappointing experience, felt like we overpaid for the quality of food and service. Thankfully my boyfriend was extra hungry rarely lets food go to waste and he ate my food too as I lost my appetite. Best thing was the bread and the lava cake LOL. My advice, go somewhere else!
Excellent food and service 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Next year din out will go with friends and family
customer service is very bad, we are very disappointed.
My go to restaurant!! Love the staff!!
Outstanding service & grilled salmon was exceptional!
We had a lovely dinner to celebrate a milestone birthday. The atmosphere was lovely, we ate in the lounge, by the fireplace.
The experience felt very safe: the staff was masked, and the tables were kept far apart, or blocked off to create lots of space between diners.
It was not bad, but the prices were too high for the food. Also, the food portion was not big enough.
I have never been disappointed with the food or the service at The Boathouse. It’s excellent as always!
Overpriced not worth what we paid.................
A great experience given COVID. Support the restaurant Industry
Our first time out since the summer for some oysters and wine was very enjoyable. Service was impeccable (as usual) and we had a very relaxing time.
Very average food for the price. Has an amazing waterfront view so that makes up for the experience a little. Service is the level you usually get at a place like WhiteSpot.
Been there a few times and its never busy so you get to pick where to sit which is great. Would have expected better service and quality of food given the price point.
Server was friendly and professional, food was amazing!! Nice place for a special occasion :)
