Location was cool and saw a huge shipping boat go by during dinner. Food was delicious - bread, chicken piccata and steak/shrimp meals were wonderful. Service was great and a great atmosphere for dinner.
From the moment upon arrival our host was warm and friendly. We were seated by a window and enjoyed a view of the Savannah River.
I ordered shrimp and grits..
Yummy! My husband ordered the crab stuffed shrimp pasta. He loved it!
Great food, great service and great atmosphere
Booked using open table, on Valentine's day 1 slot open ! We were so lucky to get it. Water view corner table , so romantic, food was amazing ! Oysters Rockefeller tender and delicious, husband had wedge salad, we split the Baked Stuffed Shrimp, so thoughtful of them to split it for us, beautiful presentation.
Unfortunately no room for dessert, but overall a wonderful Valentine's meal !!!
Thank you so much for a special evening.
Well-run, professional restaurant with knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff. Food is first-rate and menu is interesting and nicely balanced. Very nice wine list. Excellent location at the corner of River Street.
The service was great & the food was spectacular! Every time I come to Savannah, I make it a point to eat here.
Service was excellent, food was very good.
A great find. Service was excellent and very friendly. Server was very helpful and pleasant. The food was excellent. We had the She Crab and Black bean soups which were great, followed by the Shrimp and Grits and the Low Country Bouilabasse. Both dishes were nothing short of excellent. This truly was an amazing spur of the moment selection that worked out to be wonderful.
Food was excellent as was the service. We were seated next to a large table of young women who were very loud, but still enjoyed our meal immensely. Shrimp and grits were superb@
My friend and I went there after a day-long car ride south. We loved the steep cobblestone drive which ends at the river and the restaurant. Greeter seated us right away - made res on open table. I had shrimp and grits and enjoyed it very much. Grits were cheesy, hot, nice consistency. The shrimp were tender, cooked just how I like them, I thought the portion was generous. I couldn’t finish either of them. My friend enjoyed her bacon wrapped shrimp and fried green tomatoes appetizers for her meal. Our cosmos were small, but well made. My friend has lower body spasticity and found the cobblestone street coming in very challenging. For that matter, I was glad to be in flat shoes. But that is really the only negative. Once in the door, we both enjoyed our evening very much. I would recommend it. However, when I make it back to Savannah I’ll try something new.
The Boars Head Grill has been claim to be the best restaurant in Savannah, well after spending my first wedding anniversary their, I firmly believe this statement is One-hundred percent truth. The quality of the establishment is not only in its food, it is also found in its crew. The men are women of The Boars Head Grill are the pinnacle of professionalism, and courteous service. The food of this establishment is top notch; from its variety to price, every aspect of the menu is both reasonable and excellent. I personally enjoyed the grits, though a simple dish, in the hands of masters chefs it is a delicacy; both creamy with well balanced flavors, the grits at Boars Head could be the best in the state. Furthermore the selection of wines, coctails, and other liquors is impressive as well. The menu is ripe with variety and pair well with the rest of the menu. Lastly what one me over above all else was the service. The waitresses as The Boars Head took the time to explain the history of the restaurant, which was truthfully a joy to listen to. I will gladly recommend this establishment to anyone will to listen, and I greatly look forward to returning very soon.
Great food in a beautiful location. She crab soup was delicious and so was the shrimp stuffed with crab meat. Wife loved her low country shrimp and grits. Delicious bread pudding was a nice ending to the meal.
Good price, excelente taste!!! Amazing experience!!! 🎯🥰🎉🎊
The food was good and the service was excellent!
It was a great experience overall. We lived our server Kevin and he was very nice, experienced, and informative. It was a great food experience. It was a little loud due to a party seated next to us and being so close to the bar. We will be back.
We visit Savannah 1-2 times per year and the Boar's Head is always a must. Not only do they have the best steaks ever (better than any chain, 5 star, expensive restaurant) service is outstanding. You feel special when you walk through the door.
We were seated at a table with a great view of the Savannah River. The service was excellent and the food, particularly the bacon wrapped shrimp was tasty. We found this restaurant to be one of the best along the Savannah river front.
Once again, did not disappoint!!
The food was absolutely wonderful !!! We had the best server Austin and I am looking forward to returning very soon
Our server was AWESOME! He gave us a lot of great places to visit and talked to us quite a bit. Our drinks were great and the food was even better!
Good deal! Good food! Gorgeous service! Awesome steaks & shrimps. Pasta mediocre. Nice evening!!!
We had a lovely lunch before we went on a walking tour of Savannah. The location of the Boar's Head Grill was perfect. We had a table by the window so we could see the water. The lunch food was fabulous!
Everything was great. The food is delicious & we had a great waitress.
We visited Savannah over the holidays and had dinner New Years Eve at Boars Head. It was very festive and located perfectly on the River. Food was excellent all the way around and service couldn’t have been friendlier. Can’t wait to visit again!
Everything was great! We dined on NYE and called to get in an hour earlier than our reservation and they were able to accommodate us.
Good and service was awesome
I vacation in south Florida every year. On the drive home, we stop in Savannah Georgia for 2 nights as it is about the midway point on the travel home. Always dine at Boars Head Grill one night with my family. Food is always outstanding. Kevin, the waiter was great. Answered questions and options about dinner choices. Satisfied my 12 year old. Recommended wine to complement my wife’s entree, and told us some history about the meaning of a boar’s head and about the buildings history. I liked the open kitchen area as I was able to see the 3 chefs prepare the meals. I’ll be back again in December 2020. Also like the whole waterfront area. Peaceful, informative, and in general a relaxing 36 hour stop off point.
My Mom's last evening before catching a plane and she was in heaven. We love the Boar's Head!
Very nice place, food good. Service excellent. Desserts very good. Steak was tasty but a little tough.
Great service and good food. Really enjoyed the experience.
Nice restaurant with great atmosphere and views of the river. Excellent service. Very good food.
Great service and delicious food. Had a 7:00 reservation, was greeted nicely and promptly seated. Our server was personable, helping us with any menu questions that we had and providing us with a very fine culinary experience. We highly recommend!
Friday night 830pm in December and it was empty. Surprising to me as a tourist, but apparently typical at least in winter. She crab soup and crab cake were outstanding. The shrimp primavera pasta was equally as good. Catherine provided great service and made for a nice experience. Would most definitely return.
We had a very lovely dinner with a beautiful view of the river. The Fried Shrimp and Seafood Bouillabaisse were DELICIOUS. Ms. Donna took EXCELLENT care of us and we plan to return again for date night or a night out with friends and family.
We went there on our last night in Savannah based on a recommendation from the Hilton Concierge and were not disappointed. We had reservations but it was a quiet night so probably did not need them. The server (Katherin) was very attentive and our meal was excellent (one chicken picatta and one filet and BBQ shrimp). We were impressed that the bread was actually just like a French baguette, warm with a crispy crust and the wine menu was good too.
Excellent!!!! My husband had fillet, I had ribeye. Both outstanding! Service was great. Garlic mashed potatoes were out of this world creamy and delicious. Key lime pie was perfect.
Excellent service and atmosphere
Food was great!! I had the shrimp and grits and it was delicious. All the food came out hot and fresh. Only complaint was that the bread took a little long to come out but it was worth the wait.
This is our new "go to" place in Savannah. Food is always good, great specials and great value.
Great food and service. Fine dining food at reasonable prices. Enjoyed the oysters Rockefellow appetizer. Sword fish special was outstanding as was the beef tenderloin
This will always be my favorite restaurant. Best food around and great staff.
