BO-beau kitchen + roof tap Ratings and Reviews
Overall Bo Beaus is a fun place and the food is good. Unfortunately, we had Taylor as our server and he was not happy to be there. We were his first customers of the evening not sure why he was not friendly at all. Maybe he is just a dry person. I had asked about an item on the menu and he suggested I not order it because it had no taste. I was afraid to order despite his recommendations because he would be upset at me.
Took our relatives to Bo-Beau's for dinner Christmas Eve dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Food was wonderful, drinks (lemon drop and cosmo) were delicious along with red wine (Meiomi). Our server, Shannon, was excellent. The atmosphere and décor are very interesting. Our relatives want to return on their next trip to Long Beach.
We used to love coming here. The menu was recently changed. Not much ch variety and all of the food we ordered was bland. Best thing we ate was the burger but even that was not bery good considering the price. Brussel sprouts are still good but the pork was terrible. We couldnt even finish it.
I don’t know if it was just an off night but the food was just ok... the Brussels sprouts were great and such a large portion. My dad and I had the burger and the bun was really dry. I didn’t even finish it. The restaurant is beautiful though. And maybe there are better things on the menu. I wouldn’t go again.
Main reason to go was to visit the rooftop, which was closed for a private party. Food was a bit pricey for what you got. Service was very good. We had to return the halibut and one of the other items we ordered in lieu of it was comp. That was an awesome move on the part of management.
Ordered steak for main dish as Medium rare, steak was not even rare and extremely under cooked. Wife had the Halibut, and was not seasoned and tasted like cod for fish and chips. Worst Halibut I have ever tried.
It was a busy night, but that is no excuse for serving horrible food. Will not eat here again. Too many other good places to go on Pine st.
The restaurant was chosen due to the very good review and it lived up to expectations as the atmosphere, decor and service were all great. As you might expect, food and drinks were decent. Great to celebrate your special day. However you may reconsider to have a party on rooftop. I made a reservation, party of 14 on rooftop but they cancelled it and said, they do not take a reservation for the rooftop when I was able to reserve the table online( Open table website). Rooftop gets really crowded even when it's still early (8pm) so please plan well to have a party with many people.
the service was really great!!!
the food was pretty good, my husband got the steak frites and it was so good!
we also shared the Charcuterie board to start which was also really good, I would however recommend maybe some different meat choices, they were sort of the run of the mill basic choices.
The only food issue we had was my meal unfortunately. I got the scallop entree and it was not great, well everything on the plate except the scallops was really good. The scallops themselves though didn't taste very fresh, they had a bit of fishy taste and had a bit of grit on them ( maybe they weren't cleaned all the way?)
Other than the little scallop hiccup everything was great! the server was great even though she was slammed with other customers. and the food was all in all pretty good
The food here is consistently good and the service is great too. I love the inside decor and the fun drink menu. I would recommend for a double date or girls night out. Also, you can have a nice sit down dinner downstairs or go really casual in the upstairs open air beer bar.
Atmosphere was fantastic. Drink selection was also quite diverse (I enjoyed the handful of beers I was able to try!) But avoid the food. Absolutely nothing distinctive or exemplary except the price tag. It was either bland and flavorless or was dominated by a single taste. The flatbreads especially were disappointingly one note.
They had a wine and paint thing going very close to our table and it was extremely intrusive and annoying. It would have been a perfect experience without that. I think they should have told us before sitting down.
Service and good was excellent!! Incredible!
Came here for dinner with some friends for my birthday this Saturday. I always get nervous about service with a large party but BO-beau has some awesome people working for them! All the food and drinks were amazing (Brussels were to die for) and our waiter was on top of it, every time we ordered a drink we got it within minutes. HIGHLY recommend this place. Make a reservation to avoid a long wait. Awesome staff, delicious food, refreshing drinks and great ambiance.
Better choices on Pine Street. Food was okay - brussels sprouts overdone, pork chop was good, the cioppino was average at best. The waiter was attentive but had no sense of service etiquette, especially when patrons are in conversation. I'd rate this restaurant below typical Cohn Restaurant standards.
Came here by advice from friends and they were spot on with how awesome the place is! We went and had a drink and apps for happy hour at the rooftop bar and it was so cute!! The brussel sprouts were to die for and they had fun games you could play at the table. The ambiance was perfect. Then we ventured downstairs for dinner and our server was great and they brought my friend a happy birthday dessert since we were celebrating his birthday. Such a great time and I can't wait to bring more friends back!
Once again, enjoyed an amazing meal- Brussel spouts (a must!), short ribs (tender and flavorful) and dessert!!! Ask to be seated in Taylor's section- good service, great recommendations, funny with the kids and easy going!
First time for my in-laws and the ❤️-ed it. We'll all be back!
We went with the plan of sharing appetizers and it was perfect. Brussels Sprouts are fantastic. I get Brussels sprouts wherever they serve them, and these are some of the best I've tried. Crispy from high heat cooking and sweet from a balsamic reduction plus the bonus of bacon chunks mixed in! The drinks were incredible especially the thyme infused whisky drink I had a few of. (burp). The flatbread was great and the peanut butter chocolate dessert was perfect. We said we were enjoying the EDM music playing and the waitress talked for awhile about her favorite dubstep and Trap artists. Incredible! Go to date spot, we had a blast.
