About BluWater Bistro - Leschi

We opened The 3rd BluWater Bistro location in the Leschi neighborhood on March 13, 2004. Mick McHugh handed the reigns over to us after 22 successful years of running the Leschi Lake Café. With a slight remodel we cozy'd up the place, added some fantastic rollback windows, high back booths, some flat screen TV's, and leather furniture by the fireplace. The menu reflects all the goodness that a cozy bistro should offer, including the ever famous & popular "Lake Side Café" Fish and Chips... gotta keep the neighborhood happy. Stop in for some brunch on the weekends or some late night food.

Laid back ambience with a full menu of bistro staples. Come for the people and the cameraderie - stay for the food (and the view)!

The food, the staff, and the atmosphere were all amazing. Even the limited Valentine’s Day menu was diverse and delicious. We will become regulars here.

We had a friend come into Seattle to visit and we are new to the area And wanted to find waterfront dining. We found this restaurant bistro in an incredible eclectic neighborhood, with a fabulous staff and terrific menu! Absolutely going back.

two friends and I ended up staying for 3 hours in the afternoon. We had a delicious lunch and it was quiet enough for us to be able to talk easily. Delightful lunch.

The crab won-tons were excellent and made with real crab which is always nice to have,
the ribs were okay, we have had them before and they were fall off the bone tender, this time were a little tough but taste was still good and I would still recommend them. They did offer to make a new order of the ribs, we opted to take the leftovers home .

Asked for a burger cooked medium, came out overdone and tough like a hockey puck. Second burger came out overdone as well. Other meals we ordered were bland and tasteless.

I have dined at Leschi Blue Water many times with family, friends and co workers. In fact this where the Leschi staff hold our end of the school year celebrations and various after work happy hours and have had no complaints. This day was different, the wait staff was fantastic but the meal was far below your regular standards. It was more upsetting because this was a birthday lunch of someone from out of state and I had been bragging about the restaurant. No, I didn't say anything because the damage had been done.

This was a horrible birthday experience for my mother.
We made a reservation for 10 people, get there and there’s a makeshift table in the hallway where we were supposed to sit. We were right by the door and in peoples way. The food was mediocre and then at the end while we were eating cake the waitress asked us to leave because there was a large party waiting for our table. Oh my gosh! How embarrassing!!! We spent $600 to be kicked out before we finish our meal!

We had such a lovely time. The bar was loud and rowdy and we almost left, but were then seated at a quiet booth overlooking the water. It was like a whole different restaurant. Great service, great food, quiet and unhurried. I will go back again!

We had concert tickets that evening so booked an early dinner. There was barely anyone in the restaurant when we arrived (though bar area was busy & got progressively louder throughout our meal). The menu was appetizing, the atmosphere was pleasant, & the restaurant was clean & tidy; but the pacing was off. We'd allowed ourselves plenty of time, but the kitchen & waitstaff made our meal seem hurried. The entrees came out while salad was still on the table. The meatloaf was cold in the middle, & red potatoes side was undercooked. (Other than that, our meals, including dessert, were prepared correctly & very flavorful.) Waitstaff was friendly & attentive but consistently interrupted us mid-sentence. Finally I pointedly said we were not in a hurry, & the pace slowed down. Waitstaff comp'd the meatloaf entrée without our asking. I now live elsewhere & haven't been there in years (since it changed hands) so have nothing to compare to. It's possible they are so used to being slammed at dinnertime that the kitchen maintains a frenetic energy, but for an anemic post-holiday crowd, it would be great if it could adjust to a more leisurely pace.

It was very pleasant except for the cardboard boxes on top of the tall cabinet. I kept staring at them. They definitely ruined the ambiance

Went here for Christmas dinner. The menu was limited but seemed specialized for a few meals and they did offer a multiple course Christmas dinner. The service was quick and friendly, especially considering how busy they were. Food was good for what it was and I was overall happy.

We went for Christmas Day dinner. Food was good, though the emphasis was on a limited menu. We had the prime rib and roast turkey combination which was accompanied by soup, potatoes, green beans an pumpkin pie. The restaurant was busy so it is not fair to judge the overall service which was acceptable under the circumstances. We had to ask twice for bread, and twice for butter to go with it, which never arrived.
I would return when it was not quite so hectic

Once again, another pleasant Christmas dinner at this warm and well-run restaurant. The special menu variety is appreciates because I want all turkey but my husband likes his with prime rib. We appreciate the very professional and pleasant wait staff. Our "go-to" year around restaurant. Always a positive recommendation from us.

Good food, and ultimately a good view. I was very disappointed, however, that, despite booking days in advance, we were at first given a VERY poor table location (one overlooking the parking lot) when other, clearly better locations were available with views of the bay. I had to insist on being moved to one of those. That slight, and the fuss required to correct it, really put a damper on the afternoon, and there was absolutely no excuse for it. Because of that, it may be some time before we go back.

We went to the Xmas meal. Restaurant ambience was nice. Our waitress was festive and friendly. The food had some great components - stuffing, mashed potatos, salad, cranberry sauce, string beans, and pumpkin pie were all good to very good. Unfortunately, the main courses (prime rib and turkey) were dry, overcooked, and not flavorful. They tasted like bad cafeteria food.

I usually have good experiences at this restaurant, so I plan on returning. But probably not for one of their fixed price holiday menus.

Food was only ok. Went for Christmas dinner. The soup was awful, the Turkey gravy was flavorless and the pumpkin pie tasted old. I cut them some slack since I have been to the restaurant before and enjoyed it and it was Christmas. One of our party cancelled at the last minute due to the snow and I told her later, she certainly did not miss anything.

Christmas Eve dinner and it was a fairly small selection of food compared to the usual plethora of tasty tidbits. Must have been a small cooking staff because the food was over cooked. It was still an enjoyable evening.

This is my 2nd visit - both times for brunch. When I saw the potatoes delivered I immediately remembered them and said "oh yah - the potatoes are FABULOUS to my guests who were first timers. I had forgotten that wonderful part.

Very enjoyable restaurant.

This restaurant is great, for the most part. Menu is varied, service is good, view is fabulous. The decor is comfortable, but feels a bit shabby. A thorough clean up and freshing up is in order. Love the booths; they work for a group of a romantic dinner.
