BluWater Bistro - Leschi
Came here for dinner with a group of six before a concert. Service was great, loved our waitress. She was fun and attentive and very apologetic for any even minor mistakes. Food was all fantastic. Loved the ceviche appetizer, and three of us ordered the street tacos and all loved them. We'll definitely be back!
Food was good, it was really nice to sit outside on a warm summer evening. Food was good. The s'mores dessert was the best! I'd go back there just to get that again!
The food was good, the waitress was delightful and we had a very pleasant evening meal.
Limited seating outside, but lovely on a summer evening when it’s not too hot. The shareable ceviche appetizer is a must, loaded with fresh fish and guacamole to go around. Seafood entrees, like the rockfish and halibut, are great options. I have not tried their salads or meat options yet because they do fish nicely.
Beautiful outdoor view! Nice late night spot too!
The food and cocktails were fantastic! We got the thai wings as a starter, fish tacos, burger, rib eye steak, salad, and various dishes off the kid menu. Everything was fantastic but the desserts were off the chart. S'mores for the kids and the tollhouse cookie in a skillet pan a la mode for the adults. Delicious! Great view as well.
The setting is lovely, the decor is dated, the food is okay, the service was great. It could be a terrific on-the-water destination with some tweaking.
Worst waitress I have ever had - saw her twice, when she took our order and then for the bill, slow service (over 45 mins to get our food and she never checked in with us) then when food arrived it was cold - I had to flag another waitress down to return the cold food - she pretty much ignored us
Bus boy was GREAT - Kept our water and coffee filled, brought us our to go box
Management did take off for the cold meal which was very nice
We have dined here before and liked it however not sure if we will go back due to the waitress we had.
Food was delicious, service was awesome, nice opening of the floor to ceiling doors by the bar to let in the summer sun and light breeze. both indoor and outdoor seating. obviously very popular.
We love this place! Anytime we are in the area we stop in for a meal or happy hour. Excellent quality of food. Great place to hang out
BluWater Bistro is becoming a regular treat for us when we visit Seattle. It is much easier than downtown and only minutes away on Lake Washington in Leschi. It's on the water, it has both indoor and outdoor dining (in season), the food has always been good. It is a large restaurant and bar and we have generally been able to get in on short notice with little or no wait. Easy spot to go for a date, dinner with friends, business meal, or special occasion. It is good for families too.
It’s one of our neighborhood “go to” options. We will return!
BluWater is the only place we order Salmon. That's because no other restaurant prepares Salmon perfectly like BluWater. Melt-in-your-mouth perfect every time!
Delicious and unhurried which was perfect for our conversation. Had the Steak and eggs for lunch and friends had the crab special and chicken salad. Topped it off with key lime pie and blackberry cobbler. Service might be too slow for those in a hurry but we loved it.
We ate outside and the view was fantastic! The seafood salad was amazing. It was huge and piled with crab, shrimp, salmon and mussels. The rib eye steak was great! It was cooked perfectly and came with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. Our waitress was fun and very helpful! We had a bit of a wait for service at first but our waitress made it up to us by comping the dessert. I would definitely return for the next special occasion or even to try out the happy hour.
Only complaint was noise level. Very hard to talk to dinner companions.
Great location on Lake Washington. Food and service were great. Good variety - with large portions and reasonable prices. A definite keeper. And the brownie desert was amazing!
Had the caesar salad with crab added. Had a good amount of crab on a fresh salad
Lunch was un- rushed and truly relaxing at a table near the water. The food was excellent. My street taco were brimming with treats like salmon, guacamole, sour cream, and other goodies. They were delicious. My friend had salmon which she said was wonderful. Our wait person was helpful and unobtrusive. All-in-all it was a lovely lunch.
Exceptional service. Food was good; reasonably priced for a water-view restaurant. Restaurant furnishings are dated; and windows should be washed to enhance the beautiful lake view - basic stuff. But food was very good and reasonably priced. Shout-out to our waitress (sorry, name!) - awesome and accommodating. And, onsite, no charge parking. Can walk before/after meal. Will go again.
Very disappointing. I read the reviews on Open Table and other services and they seemed ok, except for a disastrous Mother's Day, but I figured the crowds are a lot lighter for Father's Day and we went later, after the special ended. It was still bad.
It was a warm day so we looked for restaurants on the water with patio dining. They had it - however the patio is next to the street and the water view is from inside, of an industrial pier.
The windows were also dirty and full of spider webs with some very large well fed spiders (on the outside).
The waitress was friendly and competent but she seemed to be the only one and was stretched to her limit. So we had to flag her down and she did forget a salad.
For the five of us, no one's food was very tasty - whether fish, salad, cauliflower steak, or hamburger. Soggy fries, greasy fish, bland cauliflower (not a surprise there).
I think I'll read the reviews a little closer from now on before booking.
Best Father’s Day brunch!
My parents and I grabbed lunch outside here while they were in town. It was great to sit outside with a great view of the cascades and lake Washington. Our food was great and we enjoyed some delicious cocktails on a sunny Seattle summer day.
This was the perfect setting for out of town guests who had not previously enjoyed dining at a Lake Washington water view. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we especially appreciated the family friendly environment. Our server was especially thoughtful and patient!
Super experience here all staff were friendly and efficient, food was excellent portions large and deserts are amazing loved this restaurant.
The Campari Spritzer was great and the ceviche was excellent. Good kids menu
It is what it is. It's pub food by the water. Not for foodies. Kinda wish they had more deck seating, since they are right on the lake.
BluWater is our in neighborhood go-to for weekend breakfast/brunch and weeknights when we just don't want to cook.
Tasty mussels, extensive wine list and great view of marina and Lake Washington.
The kitchen was overwhelmed and completely fell apart. Dinner with kids took 3 hours and the kids were served last. Got a free round of drinks, but that was it. Bar manager spoke to use, but no other manager was to be seen.
We sat down to eat at 6pm, food did not arrive until 8:15. One of the meals had a major part of the dishes missing as they had run out of the ingredient.
Staff wasn’t able to be transparent about the backlog and didn’t provide how many tables were in front of us until we asked multiple times.
Some of our party left because we had small kids that needed to get to bed and restaurant didn’t comp the meals that we had to take to go until we pressed for changes. The accommodations offered to us were irrelevant (free round of drinks) as we weren’t really drinking.
I do not plan to return with my family to this location.
We love Blu Water; the view and access to the water are great! The bar is great, esp Lexi.
The Mother’s Day service was disappointing. I don’t think the kitchen is large enough to service the restaurant and outdoor tables when they are at capacity. My favorite dish is the salmon, but they ruined this dish this time around.
I love going late at night when it’s not crowded.
Went for Mother's Day Brunch - severely pared down menu to allow fast processing of orders and food suffered. Like getting food off a steam table. Limited options.
Went for Mother’s Day. Long wait for food then when I got it, it was cold. Also seated at a table right next to the bar, unable to experience any of the ambience that we went there for. Our server was very nice.
Brunch was amazing! Able to satisfy everyone at the table and even accommodate our dog with us on the patio. Made our day and we look forward to going back.
Overcrowded and food mediocre at best.
Total disappointment on Mother's Day.
The only good thing about this restaurant is it's location on the water
Went for mother's day brunch. 20 minute line to get to the hostess, who looked over a 4-page list of reservations to find ours and ask if we wanted inside or outside seating.
That's the cool thing about reservations -- you have a really good idea how many customers you'll have and your staffing needs. At least you will, if you think ahead, which these guys didn't.
We were taken to our table, on the sidewalk outside the building, clearly set up as extra seating to pack a few more customers in for the occasion. It was lovely, if full sun with no shade and cars 3 feet away is your thing. It wasn't our thing, so we asked for a different table. The table next to ours told us the last 3 parties at our table had also asked to move. Maybe they found someone willing to be miserable after us, but it might also be a good indication that maximizing profits by subjecting guests to miserable conditions is where this restaurant is at.
Food was also miserable. My scone was burned. How does one even burn a scone? Those things were used as heat-absorbent tiles on the space shuttle! If it were possible to give zero stars I would do so. Recommendation: Go to Daniel's Broiler, conveniently located 200 feet away and save yourself a miserable experience.
Centrally located in Seattle in a nice neighborhood café setting w/ water view. Service was scattered due to a busy day of year, Mother's Day. Hostess was stressed. Service was good until checked paid & immediately ignored you just for a refill cup of coffee for the road. Food was cooked quickly considering the rush but not quality. Brunch: French toast was cooked almost burnt and other slice not cooked well. Muffins for egg benedict was very chewy/hard. One free mimosa for moms day was a nice gesture! On a normal/routine day I'm sure the café would be a good recommendation but not during a holiday or special occasion. I would suggest a greeter at the door to open/close for customers telling them the restaurant's wait time if no reservations during special occasions & help w/ crowd control.
This restaurant was not equipped for the Mother's Day Brunch that it advertised. There was one server for the outdoor area. She was frazzled, as you might expect with a workload that enormous. We were not given menus until we had been seated for 25 minutes; we were not seated until 30 minutes after our reservation. We were told there was no children's menu (there was). The food came out scattered and with multiple errors. The blueberry pancakes on the menu were actually plain pancakes with four blueberries on top. Side items were never delivered. One meal (mine) was forgotten. When I politely asked about it, a dungeness crab benedict was rushed out and dumped in front of me. I am deathly allergic to seafood and I had ordered the scramble. It took another 10 minutes for that issue to be resolved. The coffee came without cream or sugar and when we requested it, we had to wait another 20 minutes, at which point the coffee was lukewarm. There was no toilet paper in the women's room. The entire atmosphere was unpleasant as everyone was having the same poor experience, thus amplifying the negativity throughout the dining space. Though the food, once delivered, and without regard for the temperature issue, was quite good, we will never return. Truly one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.
brunch. It was fine. average, the meal over, but I had the french toast and it was straight up soggy. I ate one out of 3 pieces, and it was just straight up soggy. No butter or syrup added. We were seated promptly and the hostess was pleasant, but after our food was served it was another 45 minutes before we saw our server, never asked if we wanted refills if water or bloody mary’s. After our plates were taken it was another 15 before we were presented with the bill. In all we were there for a little over an hour and a half, most of that time waiting for a second drink that we never got and for our bill, then to be cashed out. I’ve been here many times before, but I’d be hard pressed to go back, especially if I’m taking others out for a meal.
