BluWater is our in neighborhood go-to for weekend breakfast/brunch and weeknights when we just don't want to cook.
Tasty mussels, extensive wine list and great view of marina and Lake Washington.
The kitchen was overwhelmed and completely fell apart. Dinner with kids took 3 hours and the kids were served last. Got a free round of drinks, but that was it. Bar manager spoke to use, but no other manager was to be seen.
We sat down to eat at 6pm, food did not arrive until 8:15. One of the meals had a major part of the dishes missing as they had run out of the ingredient.
Staff wasn’t able to be transparent about the backlog and didn’t provide how many tables were in front of us until we asked multiple times.
Some of our party left because we had small kids that needed to get to bed and restaurant didn’t comp the meals that we had to take to go until we pressed for changes. The accommodations offered to us were irrelevant (free round of drinks) as we weren’t really drinking.
I do not plan to return with my family to this location.
We love Blu Water; the view and access to the water are great! The bar is great, esp Lexi.
The Mother’s Day service was disappointing. I don’t think the kitchen is large enough to service the restaurant and outdoor tables when they are at capacity. My favorite dish is the salmon, but they ruined this dish this time around.
I love going late at night when it’s not crowded.
Went for Mother's Day Brunch - severely pared down menu to allow fast processing of orders and food suffered. Like getting food off a steam table. Limited options.
Went for Mother’s Day. Long wait for food then when I got it, it was cold. Also seated at a table right next to the bar, unable to experience any of the ambience that we went there for. Our server was very nice.
Brunch was amazing! Able to satisfy everyone at the table and even accommodate our dog with us on the patio. Made our day and we look forward to going back.
Overcrowded and food mediocre at best.
Total disappointment on Mother's Day.
The only good thing about this restaurant is it's location on the water
Went for mother's day brunch. 20 minute line to get to the hostess, who looked over a 4-page list of reservations to find ours and ask if we wanted inside or outside seating.
That's the cool thing about reservations -- you have a really good idea how many customers you'll have and your staffing needs. At least you will, if you think ahead, which these guys didn't.
We were taken to our table, on the sidewalk outside the building, clearly set up as extra seating to pack a few more customers in for the occasion. It was lovely, if full sun with no shade and cars 3 feet away is your thing. It wasn't our thing, so we asked for a different table. The table next to ours told us the last 3 parties at our table had also asked to move. Maybe they found someone willing to be miserable after us, but it might also be a good indication that maximizing profits by subjecting guests to miserable conditions is where this restaurant is at.
Food was also miserable. My scone was burned. How does one even burn a scone? Those things were used as heat-absorbent tiles on the space shuttle! If it were possible to give zero stars I would do so. Recommendation: Go to Daniel's Broiler, conveniently located 200 feet away and save yourself a miserable experience.
Centrally located in Seattle in a nice neighborhood café setting w/ water view. Service was scattered due to a busy day of year, Mother's Day. Hostess was stressed. Service was good until checked paid & immediately ignored you just for a refill cup of coffee for the road. Food was cooked quickly considering the rush but not quality. Brunch: French toast was cooked almost burnt and other slice not cooked well. Muffins for egg benedict was very chewy/hard. One free mimosa for moms day was a nice gesture! On a normal/routine day I'm sure the café would be a good recommendation but not during a holiday or special occasion. I would suggest a greeter at the door to open/close for customers telling them the restaurant's wait time if no reservations during special occasions & help w/ crowd control.
This restaurant was not equipped for the Mother's Day Brunch that it advertised. There was one server for the outdoor area. She was frazzled, as you might expect with a workload that enormous. We were not given menus until we had been seated for 25 minutes; we were not seated until 30 minutes after our reservation. We were told there was no children's menu (there was). The food came out scattered and with multiple errors. The blueberry pancakes on the menu were actually plain pancakes with four blueberries on top. Side items were never delivered. One meal (mine) was forgotten. When I politely asked about it, a dungeness crab benedict was rushed out and dumped in front of me. I am deathly allergic to seafood and I had ordered the scramble. It took another 10 minutes for that issue to be resolved. The coffee came without cream or sugar and when we requested it, we had to wait another 20 minutes, at which point the coffee was lukewarm. There was no toilet paper in the women's room. The entire atmosphere was unpleasant as everyone was having the same poor experience, thus amplifying the negativity throughout the dining space. Though the food, once delivered, and without regard for the temperature issue, was quite good, we will never return. Truly one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.
brunch. It was fine. average, the meal over, but I had the french toast and it was straight up soggy. I ate one out of 3 pieces, and it was just straight up soggy. No butter or syrup added. We were seated promptly and the hostess was pleasant, but after our food was served it was another 45 minutes before we saw our server, never asked if we wanted refills if water or bloody mary’s. After our plates were taken it was another 15 before we were presented with the bill. In all we were there for a little over an hour and a half, most of that time waiting for a second drink that we never got and for our bill, then to be cashed out. I’ve been here many times before, but I’d be hard pressed to go back, especially if I’m taking others out for a meal.
The food was good.
The hostess, waitress were accommodating, patient, and pleasant. The menu offered many options. The special was tasteful. The view was also a highlight.
Food was good. Husband and son enjoyed Ribs with skinny onion rings on top. House salad was good and clam chowder had a lot of good clams, but base wasn't as thick and creamy as some places. Called ahead a few hours , and got in a little before our reservation. Service was friendly and attentive. View was pretty from window tables.
The view is always wonderful, The food is always great.
We loved everything but the noise level. We could hardly hear each other in our own booth.
Food and cocktails were great. Went during happy hour, but ordered off the regular menu. View by the window was lovely, even on a rainy afternoon. The Gorgonzola, pear, fig pasta was fantastic. Room was quiet enough to have a nice conversation. Price was a bit higher than expected, although not overpriced for the quality of our meal.
My group always chooses to meet here. Service is good and friendly, food fine and price not too high. We always have a pleasant experience.
Great service. Food was spot on. We really enjoyed our time there.
Our second time for Easter brunch. Definitely on the noisy side, but if weather is good, there is outside seating. The Easter menu was limited, but I enjoyed the crab Benedict. My partner, not so much as he had issues with the crab, but he can be picky, and he did like the potatoes. Overall, a generous crab benedict, with tasty potatoes, a scone with jam, fresh fruit, good coffee, and the service was quick, considering it was a very busy morning.
We specifically went to this restaurant for the menu, which was listed online, only to find out when we got there that what was listed on their website, is not what they were serving. And unfortunately, they were not willing to shy from their Easter Menu. They had everything available, however, they were not willing to crack 2 eggs to scramble them for me. I go to this restaurant ALL THE TIME for Brunch after walking Seward park but will not be returning after this experience. If you are not willing to do something as simple as scramble 2 eggs to make a returning customer happy, that's truly unfortunate. You've lost a great customer as a result. I suggest if you have a specific menu you are adhering to, you should list that on your website so customers know. Customers choose restaurants BECAUSE of the menu all the time. This was truly an unfortunate experience bc I really do like the place, atmosphere, etc. I will not be returning :(
Busy Sunday Easter brunch. Inside was a little louder than I like and kinda dark. Wishing we were seated by a window instead of close to the bar and entrance. Waitress was attentive, but seemed less than thrilled to be there. The coffee and food were decent. I would go back and try their happy hour.
We had a wonderful Easter Brunch and they were able to accomidate 8 of us and we were treated wonderfully. A favorite for Chichen Fried Steak.
Server got both of our orders wrong, we ate them anyway, but when we let her know she got defensive and insisted it was our error. We both ordered the rockfisn, she brought chicken. I hadn't even looked at the menu past the rockfish, so didn't even know there was a similar chicken entree. There was no way we both misspoke. She did offer to take our meals back and redo them, but no apology offered.
My cousins and I got together for Sunday dinner and all was excellent as always. We enjoyed our entrees and shared the toll-house cookie with ice cream. Cant't wait to return. Always a treat in every way. Comfortable seating both indoors and out. We prefer indoors but there's something for everyone.
Gorgeous day and we got to sit aside! Overlooking Lake Washington and having a wonderful Sunday Brunch. Food was awesome!
Laid back ambience with a full menu of bistro staples. Come for the people and the cameraderie - stay for the food (and the view)!
The food, the staff, and the atmosphere were all amazing. Even the limited Valentine’s Day menu was diverse and delicious. We will become regulars here.
We had a friend come into Seattle to visit and we are new to the area And wanted to find waterfront dining. We found this restaurant bistro in an incredible eclectic neighborhood, with a fabulous staff and terrific menu! Absolutely going back.
two friends and I ended up staying for 3 hours in the afternoon. We had a delicious lunch and it was quiet enough for us to be able to talk easily. Delightful lunch.
The crab won-tons were excellent and made with real crab which is always nice to have,
the ribs were okay, we have had them before and they were fall off the bone tender, this time were a little tough but taste was still good and I would still recommend them. They did offer to make a new order of the ribs, we opted to take the leftovers home .
Asked for a burger cooked medium, came out overdone and tough like a hockey puck. Second burger came out overdone as well. Other meals we ordered were bland and tasteless.
Great lunch with a friend planning her wedding. Great food. Great view.
I have dined at Leschi Blue Water many times with family, friends and co workers. In fact this where the Leschi staff hold our end of the school year celebrations and various after work happy hours and have had no complaints. This day was different, the wait staff was fantastic but the meal was far below your regular standards. It was more upsetting because this was a birthday lunch of someone from out of state and I had been bragging about the restaurant. No, I didn't say anything because the damage had been done.
Really great and reasonably priced spot. Friendly staff, some parking, nice view. Make a reservation, it is not a huge place. :)
New Years celebration!
This was a horrible birthday experience for my mother.
We made a reservation for 10 people, get there and there’s a makeshift table in the hallway where we were supposed to sit. We were right by the door and in peoples way. The food was mediocre and then at the end while we were eating cake the waitress asked us to leave because there was a large party waiting for our table. Oh my gosh! How embarrassing!!! We spent $600 to be kicked out before we finish our meal!
We had such a lovely time. The bar was loud and rowdy and we almost left, but were then seated at a quiet booth overlooking the water. It was like a whole different restaurant. Great service, great food, quiet and unhurried. I will go back again!
